#98- Quarter Life Crisis (with Carlea Blight)
Hey everyone! In honour of my best friend Carlea's birthday today, I'm releasing this super fun podcast episode where we chat about turning 25. Come hang out with us as we sip some espresso martinis and talk about the pressures that come along with being this age, the confusion we have about what we should be doing next, and the impacts that COVID has had on our current life stage. We also answer some deep questions about ourselves and each other, so you will really get to know Carlea and me as a friendship today. This conversation is super chill, funny (I think), and hopefully relatable for anyone else who is feeling similar things about being in their mid-20s. Be sure to follow me on social media @therevolutionizedmind, and don't forget to rate, review, and subscribe to the show on whatever platform you're listening on!
P.S. I am so sorry about the sounds you will hear as we pass the microphone back and forth. I only own one mic and it was very difficult to edit those noises out, but hopefully it's not too distracting!!

#97- My Current Life Update
Heyyooo! It's been a while since we got to sit down and chat. Is it just me or have the last few months felt really weird for you too? I have just been feeling super stuck in my environment lately and I was starting to notice that it was affecting my mental health. So, I decided to make a big life change: I'm back at Western University for the semester! And, more importantly, I'm playing soccer here! This was a super random and last-minute decision for me as I had no intentions of ever returning to this level of sport after I graduated, but it feels so good to be back! In this episode, I explain what this "stuck" feeling looked like for me, how and why I made the decision to come back to play, and what I hope to get out of this next chapter of my life. It's been a wild last couple of weeks but I am so excited to bring you all along this new journey. Be sure to follow me on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook @therevolutionizedmind, and don't forget to rate, review, and subscribe to the show on whatever platform you're listening on!

#96- Step by Step (with Erica Romaniuk)
This week on TRM, we are joined by the Founder of Step by Step Tours, Erica Romaniuk! Erica graduated with a mechanical engineering degree from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly known as Ryerson) and was very grateful to find a job in her field post-grad. However, this job brought on lots of anxiety, feelings of isolation, and overall poor mental well-being. This forced her to reassess what she wanted to do with her life. Her identity was strongly tied to being a proud woman in STEM and it was very difficult to walk away from that. So, she decided to start going to therapy and took some time to do lots of honest self-reflection. Erica thought long and hard about what truly makes her happy, what she’s passionate about, and how she could combine these things with her professional life. And then, Step by Step Tours was born! Erica tells us all about what it was like to leave her job in engineering and take a chance on her new business. This really is an inspiring conversation to listen to and I hope it can help someone else out there! The Revolutionized Mind Podcast is BACK this week with the one and only, Benji Arhen! In this episode, Ben tells us all about his journey as an athlete, explains how we can use sport as a tool in our lives, and emphasizes the importance of building mental toughness. Born and raised in Ghana, Benji didn’t actually start playing football until his late high school years. Very quickly, he made Team Ontario and got scouted by Queens University, resulting in many transitions: physically, mentally, and emotionally. After an extremely successful varsity career and obtaining a Masters Degree, Benji decided to stay involved by coaching, mentoring, and inspiring youth, both in and outside of sport. This episode is filled with an incredible amount of passion and will surely impact you in some small way. #94- Life with a Hallucination (with Mary Tompros)
Let's start by taking a big deep breath together! This week, we are joined by mental health advocate and social work student, Mary Tompros. Mary lives with a chronic hallucination, and in this episode, she tells us all about how it started, how she learned to adapt, and just generally what it feels like to never be alone. She shares some of the coping skills that therapy has given her, the different perspectives she’s gained, and just how much she’s grown through the challenging times. Mary also addresses the stigma, emphasizing that people who experience psychosis ARE NOT DANGEROUS. There is a big misconception about having hallucinations, and Mary uses her platform to show the true realities of living with a complex mental illness, including the good times and the bad. I’m so grateful that I got the chance to connect with Mary and learn more about her story. This conversation is extremely informative and deep, in a funny and relatable way. Land Acknowledgment: I wish to acknowledge that the entire country of Canada resides on traditional, unceded, or treaty lands of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people. I strongly believe in the importance of this acknowledgment, so I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the privileges that we hold today in living and working on these lands. Currently, I am in Newmarket, Ontario which is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. This area of land is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. As a guest and settler on these lands, it is my duty to unlearn inherent colonial systems, actively work towards reconciliation, and to raise Indigenous voices whenever I can.

This week, we are joined by mental health advocate and podcast host, Todd Rennebohm. Before Todd began working in the mental health space, he was heavily struggling with an alcohol addiction. But, like many, he didn’t realize how serious it was. In this episode, he shares his story with mental illness, explains how it was affecting different areas of his life, and highlights how difficult the road to recovery can be. After several attempts at getting help and experiencing many bumps along the way, Todd landed in a 28-day treatment program that ultimately changed his life. #79- Mental Health and Masculinity (with Simon Rinne)
Happy Friday! I’m so excited to be getting back into our regular guest conversations this week. Today, we are joined by Simon Rinne from Mindful Men. Simon is a Social Worker and Podcast Host who is passionate about creating safe spaces for men to talk about their mental/emotional health. In this episode, Simon shares his experience with mental illness, toxic masculinity, and mindfulness. For over 20 years, he was living with OCD, depression, and anxiety but did not know what any of this meant or how to get help. Being a “man”, he was scared to open up about what he was going through because he feared what other people would think of him. When he went to seek therapy for the first time, his whole life changed as he was introduced to the idea of mindfulness. Simon turned this into a successful platform where he shares his story, helps other men become more emotionally aware, and promotes mindful practices and strategies. This conversation was super insightful and I hope it helps to improve the gendered constraints around emotional well-being. Our guest, Tyler, shares his experience with bullying, how that affected his mental health, and how he got to the place he's at today. Throughout his early school years, Tyler was getting bullied nearly every day which led to him having extreme anxiety about going to school. This anxiety also turned into a depression where he was feeling 'fed up' with everything that was happening to/around him. He ended up getting homeschooled in Grade 12, which actually improved his academic performance, as well as his mental health. After college, he found himself a part of a new social group that allowed him to express himself in a way that he was never able to before. Tyler's story is incredibly vulnerable, raw, and inspiring. Trigger warning: this episode talks about bullying, suicide, and violence. #72- I'm Back in Therapy!
Happy Friday friends! Thank you for joining me on this solo episode. It's been a while since we've had the chance to catch up! In this episode, I explain some of my past history with therapy, why I decided to get back into it, and how I navigated the whole process. I also share some personal struggles that I've been dealing with lately related to this platform, and hopefully offer some positive insight/advice for anyone who may be feeling similar things. I'm hoping that this episode will complement everything that I've been posting about therapy and make you feel less alone in whatever it is that you're currently going through. This week, I am really excited to have the founder and CEO of a new social platform Good Deeds, Amber Yakutchik on The Revolutionized Mind. Good Deeds is a service that allows you to donate items or services, give back to your community, and earn credits along the way. Similar to platforms like Facebook Marketplace, it allows you to get rid of things you don’t need and rewards you with credits for helping the community. No money is exchanged on the platform and you get 500 credits simply for signing up. These credits can be used to spend, donate, or save, along with the ability to put up your own goods or services. Services meaning things like lash, nail, or stylist appointments, among others! This is a great way to promote small businesses as well. In this episode, Amber shares who she is, how she came up with the idea, and some of the goals that she has for the platform. Happy Friday everyone! Today, we are joined by former college baseball player, Reid Meyer. Reid is the Co-Founder of Athletes to Athletes, a college counseling service that provides customized plans for student-athletes going through the recruiting process.
