S2. E3. Marriage Tips: Our Roles

S2. E3. Marriage Tips: Our Roles

Today’s Episode:

Oscar and I are going on 11 years married and still going strong. We share with you the obstacles along the way and how we have become more and more peacefully united.

We hope these marriage tips from our mistakes, shortcomings, and wisdom bring encouragement to you whether your single, dating or already married!

The Simple:

Listen in for these simple marriage tips we converse about in this episode:

-Understanding our individual roles

-What it looks like to be in our roles according to the Bible

-Tips for Men

-Tips for Women

Resources:

1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Mark 10:7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

Mark 10:8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

Mark 10:9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

1 Corinthians 7:32 But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:

1 Corinthians 7:33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.

1 Corinthians 7:34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.

Ephesians 5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

Ephesians 5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

Ephesians 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

Ephesians 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

Ephesians 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Ephesians 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

1 Peter 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Isaiah 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

E2. S2. Thoughts and verses on WAITING

E2. S2. Thoughts and verses on WAITING

Today's Episode:

You know that feeling well, when you know you should sit and wait to be told the next step. Instead, you rush to do the next thing, and act surprised when you realize you were missing half the instructions!

Today my husband and I share some thoughts and scriptures about WAITING.

We have been through quite the practices in Trust and Faith throughout our years.  We share with you some examples of what waiting looks like and why it’s so important.

The Simple:

Here are a 7 verses we talk about in this episode:

  • Luke 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
  • Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Galatians 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
  • Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
  • Romans 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
  • James 5:10 Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. James 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
  • Hebrews 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. Hebrews 6:11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: Hebrews 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
  • Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us

Kiran shares her wisdom she has gained over the course of the years. Starting from the ripe age of 15 til present day, Kiran has gained knowledge using many tools to live a fulfilling, joyful life with ease.

In this episode she walks us through 3 tools we can use every day. For every day struggles, or even when times truly get tough for us. She tells us about her own struggles from her past and most recent and how these tools have always come in handy.

Tools 1-2 are available for The Salt Podcast listeners, and the juicy stuff we leave for the Pink Premium Access Members (plus the private group call LIVE with Kiran). Scroll down to learn more about Pink Premium.

The Simple: The 2 Tools for Ease

Tool # 1

Be willing to ask for ease. If you don't ask for it, how is it going to show up? For any situation you are in, ask

"How can I have more ease with this?"

The answer/solution may not show up right away, but at least you are staying open to the possibilities of ease showing up.

Tool # 2

Use this ‘mantra’ from Access Consciousness for a minimum for 10x in the morning and 10x at night. During this past year, the recommendation was to use 100x a day. These are just suggestions, you do what works for you.

“All of life comes to me with ease and joy and glory”

You may also use it when you are in a difficult situation or if you feel stuck. I like to have it up on my bathroom mirror as a constant reminder.

All these tools are designed to create more ease and freedom in your world. We invite you to play with them with an open mind and see where it takes you.
