Safe Spaces or Brave Spaces? - 108
In Episode 108, Chey and Pav talk about Safe Spaces versus Brave Spaces - what’s the difference between the two? How can we be setting up a space for students to engage in meaningful conversations using one or both of these? What are the implications of setting up a space that's "safe" and is that even possible? Chey and Pav touch on many topics as they relate to social justice issues - identity, oppression, power and privilege - and how these are affected by the language we use when advocating for spaces where we can have Courageous Conversations (Singleton, 2005).
