"I remember being called a Chia Pet in grade school for putting water on my hair to tame the frizz. 🫣
I was recently invited to join The Texture Of Me podcast with my friend and curl specialist Miss Tammy Jolivette, a PhD Candidate whose looking to make an impact in the hair industry speaking up for women with textured hair".

"Can I touch your hair?"
"Can I touch your hair?"
....the answer is always NO! If you have to ask 'why', or you've been on the receiving end of this question, make sure you check out my latest video. Who is Representative Leslie Herod, and what is the CROWN Act? And what does that have to do with textured hair that is kinky, coily, curly, and wavy?
I had the distinct honor of interviewing Representative Herod from Colorado and she tells us how her own personal stories of hair discrimination led her to make changes in the law in the State of Colorado.
If you have never heard of the CROWN act, it is a very important law that is passed in Colorado that needs to be passed at the federal level in the United States. It not only protects us from discrimination but RETALIATION if we report it to employers.
It's so important that the Dove Corporation and OPRAH herself are sponsoring the federal bill.
Please take a moment to watch the video where Leslie tells how she has been discriminated against, also her constituents in Colorado inspired her to make a significant change. She has garnered major support from Fortune 500 companies who have already implemented policies in their companies...and she names them in the video!
