Trigger Warning: Sexual Assault

This past week has been difficult for many of our Somali sisters who gathered up the courage to share their stories. Our sisters have shared the pain, fear, and trauma they have endured due to being silenced and shamed. Sexual assault is a topic that is not discussed enough in our community. We want to continue having open conversations within our community to eliminate the tabooness of this topic in our culture. To the survivors, we would like to say we believe you and support you. We stand with you and will continue to advocate for you.
