The Wandering Ear

In this episode, Daniel wrestles with the idea of not feeling creative and wanting to take a break from The Wandering Ear & the podcast for some time. Daniel highlights the challenges of not taking a break and the creative rut that he has been going through.

In this Dispatch we chat with songwriter and keyboardist KindKeith (they/them). We learn about KindKeith’s creative process, inspirations and aspirations for their musical career. 

KindKeith studied jazz at UT where they met other talented musicians during the pandemic. Those connections helped give form to KindKeith’s most recent musical group Mockjaw. 

KindKeith’s music, influenced by jazz and RnB, explores their emotions throughout different life experiences. For instance, the hardships they faced during jazz school, finding community as a Black Queer person, and the bliss of being in a better place towards the end of the pandemic.

In this episode, Daniel talks with Fae a Dark pop artist based in LA. fae shares the early version of 'good intentions' with us through different demos, recordings, and perspectives.

Daniel revists an old series titled TWE Fest Trailer 001 where he talked about documenting the whole process of organizing a festival from start to end. In this episode Daniel gives and update and talks about TWE & Friends Fest happening on June 22nd in Seattle.

This is the very first episode of A Conversation With. A series created by Daniel & The Wandering Ear. In this episode, Daniel shares 4 different stories, 4 different perspectives but all brought to you by music. We hear from Modern Nun, Gayun Cannon, Sound from SZN, Mars & music from Space Gators at Pilsen Art House & Community in Chicago. It was all on the day of the Bottlenose Presents/The Wandering Ear concert on June 17th. 

Daniel shares his trip to Austin Texas with you all. Daniel went to Austin to search for a cool studio space to run an artist collective but when he arrived it didn’t turn out the way that he wanted but it’s okay. Daniel also shares his experience of staying in a tiny home.

Soleil and Daniel talked about life, how she met her friend Hannah, the idea of timing and serendipity, and New Lies their new EP, and the joys and challenges of recording remotely and how that made this project unique.
