Having April on the podcast was a joy!
I used to be in radio and was tired of selling my soul to the "god of radio" and quit, but I had poured my life into radio and didn't have any idea about what I wanted to do with my life. My husband suggested that I start selling my photography and I laughed at him, but found myself later telling a friend that I would be interested in being her first featured artist during a first Friday. It was a great success so I then began selling artwork and charging for portrait sessions. I later knew I really wanted to get involved in weddings and I had a bunch of friends getting married that year so I asked if I could practice at their weddings, not be the main photographer, but just an extra person wandering around with a camera, they all said yes and that was how I got my practice in. I then shot my first wedding the next year and knew I was in the right place when I knew I should be super nervous but was cool as a cucumber and loved it.

Kasey Johnson with RBF Law
As with any podcast that involved any legal discussion, the information provided is not official legal advice and you should always consult your own counsel.
Kasey was a joy to chat with and dive deep into some of the legal sides while still keeping it approachable and understandable. I think you'll find great value in the points we discuss.
Kasey: I got started practicing law after realizing I had a unique and specific skill set for advocacy, problem-solving, and strategic thinking. Peers and colleagues would come to me with challenging issues seeking my perspective. That, in essence, is the role of a lawyer. I cultivated those skills and learned others as I attended law school, and ultimately put them in practice after graduating and passing the Bar exam.
