Trusting the Dawn: How to Choose Freedom and Joy After Trauma with Mary Firestone
In 2017, Mary and her family were just getting settled into a new home in Montecito when the Thomas Fire erupted at the end of that year. Mary, who was four months pregnant at the time, and her family evacuated for a month and returned to their home in January 2018 when the area was deemed safe. They were not under mandatory evacuation orders on the night of January 9 of that year when massive amounts of heavy rain caused a debris flow that would claim the lives of 23 people (many of them her immediate neighbors) and over 450 structures.
Their new home was in one of the two direct paths of the tsunami-like debris flow of mud, water, and boulders that tore down the mountain. Mary was separated from her son and husband and trapped alone for five hours on a sliver of her bathroom counter, wet and cold from winter rain and covered in toxic mud. For much of that time she thought her son and husband had not survived as she watched the two story part of her home that contained her son’s bedroom get washed away in a river of mud. While trapped, she experienced a connection to a powerful and calming force. Now, Mary is on a personal mission to let others know they are not alone and there is light on the other side of the darkness of PTSD.
Mary just released her first book Trusting the Dawn: How to Choose Freedom and Joy After Trauma, and Dr. Joe Dispeza himself said “This book is medicine for anyone who wants to free their mind, body, and soul from the past.”

The Unspoken Connection Between Chronic Illness & Spirituality & Why So Many People Struggle With Autoimmune Disease

Matt Taylor: The Power Of Perspective
This is one of my favorite recent podcasts! The first 20 minutes I catch you all up on my current life challenges, getting covid and a lot of lessons that I am learning and feel compelled to share. Then I go into an incredible conversation with our guest Matt Taylor who has been a part of the woo woo world since high school, when he was drawn to all things natural. Some health concerns, which stumped doctors, inspired a journey to find what nature can offer. Since that time, Matt has always been known as "the natural weirdo," a label he wears proudly. Matt became a massage therapist & the owner of Taylored Touch Therapy in 2007. Working as a healer and wellness guide is what brings joy to Matt's life. He also holds certifications in Essential Oil Coaching and Natural Wellness coaching. Matt also lives with HIV and has battled addiction - just two aspects of his story which he shares about openly with the world and on this podcast.
Highlight material of the show you won't want to miss:
- How small, subtle life changes can lead to a much more open heart and mind for spiritual growth.
- How pausing is a gift and why?
- The power of perspective.
- The role shame plays in our lives and how to transmute it.

Jamie - Using Bee Venom Therapy to Help Heal
Today we have Jamie on the show! I reached out to Jamie and asked her if she'd be willing to talk about her story. I've been following along with her as she's been dealing with a chronic illness known as Lyme disease. You may have heard of it. It's been sort of an epidemic in our country for a long time. I have so many friends growing up being from New York and being in upstate New York that have suffered from Lyme.
Jamie has been doing something called bee venom therapy (BVT) to help her with this. I was so fascinated by her story that I wanted her to come on and share. Outside of that, she's got a lot of synchronicities and a lot of magic that has occurred in her life.
You'll hear her share about her own spiritual journey; how she went from being in toxic relationships to meeting the love of her life and the synchronicities around that and the karmic lessons that she'd learned from that. And then about this chronic illness that she has been going through and how she has been navigating the health system to help support herself through alternative medicine and finding what's been really helping her and working. So she is an inspiration to many and I am very excited to share this episode with you all!
