Movie Worlds We Would & Wouldn’t Want To Enter

Movie Worlds We Would & Wouldn’t Want To Enter

Today Emily and Tommy branch off of our previous discussion, shifting the focus from bringing movie characters into the real world, to pondering which movie worlds we would and wouldn't want to enter. Is it worth going in to a world of magic if you're stuck being a muggle? Which would be a bigger nightmare, a world with Zombies or Aliens? Once again we opened this discussion up to our listeners to share their thoughts via the thismovieis Instagram.

Movie Characters We'd Bring Into The Real World

Movie Characters We'd Bring Into The Real World

Today Emily and Tommy engage in some discussion inspired from having previously watched "Last Action Hero", in which Arnold Schwarzenegger's Jack Slater character was eventually brought into that film's real world.  We wondered which movie character would we bring into our real world if given the chance, and asked our listeners to chime in via the thismovieis Instagram with their responses.  Who has the best answer?  It's not a competition, but there is a clear winner.

Actors We Don't Care For

Actors We Don't Care For

Celebrities. Sometimes, we love to hate them. This is (almost) one of those times. In today’s episode Tommy and Emily discuss the celebrities we don’t care for. Do we hate them? No. Do we care about them in any way? Which celebrities do you not care for? Happy listening!! (And sorry Jen if you’re out there)

Disney Pixar’s Onward

Disney Pixar’s Onward

G’day fellow movie lovers! In this edition of the thismovieis podcast Tommy and Emily discuss Disney Pixar’s newest film ‘Onward.’ We realized that we’ve never really discussed a kids movie before and wondered if our polarizing opinions would translate to non-controversial and non-adult based content. Can we get into an argument about a family film?

This fantasy film takes place in a world where magic is present in every day life but not exciting or valued. We set ourselves a challenge whilst recording this episode to stay “family friendly” and limit our F-Bombs, and the rest. Listen through and see how we manage... or not...

The Shape of Water

The Shape of Water

G'day fellow movie lovers. Today we have a bit of a TBT as we unearth an unreleased podcast from 2018 discussing “The Shape Of Water” in the days leading up to it's big night at the Oscars.  Emily is quite fond of this movie and the way it makes her heart feel, whereas Tommy, surprise, surprise, wasn’t as impressed.  We discuss what makes an evil character? Do plot holes mean a movie can’t be enjoyable? And how can you really trust the narrative you are being delivered on screen if don’t see the whole story? Enjoy!
