Gather25 Questions & Concerns
Thoroughly Equipped Season 3 Episode 3
At the 10 year anniversary of the IF:Gathering back in February, Jennie Allen announced a new calling from God to assemble the global church on March 1st 2025.
There are some questions and concerns I have with this "new calling" ranging from how this vision began to what Jennie is insinuating about Christ's rule over the church to what it means for the IF:Ministry to assemble the global church.
Let's talk about Gather25.

Discipline? An Example of Calling What is Good Evil.
Thoroughly Equipped Season 3 Episode 2
An interesting spat occurred on X about a month ago over a post by Samuel Sey who stated that he had to discipline his 4 month old son. The majority of responses accused Mr. Sey of mistreatment of his son.
This made me wonder about what Christians have been taught over the last couple of decades about what discipline is. And so I thought I would talk about it.
For an in depth study on a biblical worldview of discipline and the work of our Father's hand in chastising his children I strongly suggest you listen to Jim Osman's exegetical preaching on Hebrews 12. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLS1_5YJxqu71pLS_m2aIVnbRRa7GRVZbi

Leaving the New Age with Doreen Virtue
Thoroughly Equipped Season 3 Episode 1
T.E. is back for a 3rd season!
For episode one of this season I interview Doreen Virtue on her conversion from the New Age religion to Jesus Christ.
Doreen Virtue was a top-selling new age author with heretical publications in 38 languages by various publishers, appearances on Oprah, and sold-out international workshops before God graciously saved her in 2017. Now she is a whistleblower exposing new age deception, and warning the church of false teachings on her YouTube channel, social media pages including Facebook, and in frequent interviews. Doreen has been featured on American Gospel 3, American Gospel TV, Daily Wire, Moody Radio, Spillover, Christianity Today, Cultish, and other Christian media. Doreen graduated with a Masters Degree in Biblical and Theological Studies (56 units with highest honors) from Western Seminary in 2021, and she holds a BA and MA in Counseling Psychology from Chapman University.
On this episode we talk about certain beliefs within the New Age and it's similarities with the progressive, NAR, and deliverance ministries within the "evangelical" church.
May this episode bless you and bring glory to God!

Using D.E.I. to Fundamentally Change the Church
Thoroughly Equipped Season 2 Episode 38
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion has been a hot topic in the economic sphere, but it’s actually not limited there. This anti-racist infiltration has made a huge mark in the education realm and now has for the last couple of years gained access to Christian institutions and organizations.
Under the last step given to white bridge builders in the Be the Bridge 101 guide, Be the Bridge exposes their desire to fundamentally change the church by defeating the white supremacy within it. How do they believe this work is done? Through Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training But not merely diversifying the leadership, but working toward equity and inclusion of, not only race, but theological views.
How might diversity, equity, and inclusion come into your church? Let’s dive in…
Topics include:
- How Be the Bridge uses a false historical narrative to urge it's readers to become "Accomplices" within the American Church.
- How Anti-Racist presuppositions can influence how one sees the Church's role in the Abolitionist Movement.
- The difference between diversity, equity, and inclusion and how they will be used to challenge Headship and Authority within the Church.
- How D.E.I. ministry programs ultimately incite a rebellion against God and Christ's institution of authrity in the Church.

Be The Bridge 101- Training Christians to Decenter Whiteness
Thoroughly Equipped Season 2 Episode 36
Latasha Morrison made the New York Times Best Seller list for her book Be The Bridge. While the book informs Christians of the importance of racial reconciliation, it's also the gateway into her training program/ministry of the same name. To become a Bridge Builder, we are told to follow the Be the Bridge FaceBook group. In signing up for the group ALL members are required to silentlt observe the conversation in the group and do the REQUIRED reading of the guides before commenting and entering into the conversation.
Today I will present to you their first required reading for white people titled Be the Bridge 101: Foundational Principals Every White Bridge Builder Needs to Know and the first 2 tenants of Whiteness, white people must learn about so they can start leveraging their whiteness; ridentify their white heritage, divest themselves of their pride, privilege, & fragility, and fight against white supremacy as ani-racists.
Topics include:
- What is the Be the Bridge Ministry?
- Should white Christians identify with their white heritage to reconcile and unify with POC?
- Is privilege a sin?
- What is oppression and how do we fight it according to Scripture?
- We look at some of the privileges Be the Bridge says white people have. Are they actual privileges besed on race?

Be the Bridge, Critical Race Theory, & White Supremacy
Exposing how the American Christian Church is accepting the tenants of Critical Race Theory through Be the Bridge's ministry on racial reconciliation. This "ministry" trains people to believe that racism is systemic and white people are complicit and/or are racist by perpetuating the system because they do not act against it through leveraging their privilege and working toward equity.

Critical Race Theory as an Analytical Tool?
Thoroughly Equipped S.2 Ep.32
What is Critical Race Theory? What does it teach? Should Critical Race Theory be used as an analytical tool? And is this theory something you should worry about?
In this episode I interview Andrew Rappaport from the Rapp Report to tackle these questions.
Before we dive into the Be the Bridge ministry and other racial reconciliation ministries promoted at the IF:Gathering, we need to lay the ground work and look at the presuppositions that come with Critical Race Theory. This way when we look at these ministries and what they claim and teach, we will see how they incorporate CRT as an analytical tool and assume certain things in regards to racism and white superiority.
If we get the problem wrong, the solution will be wrong. If we misdiagnose the problem there will be no reconciliation. So will incorporating Critical Race Theory as an analytical tool help the church with racial reconciliation? Does it accurately diagnose the problem?

Discussion w/Jon Harris on the Social Gospel & Social Justice
Season 2 Episode 31
On this episode, I present to you my discussion with Jon Harris from The Conversations That Matter YT Channel, where we discuss the Social Gospel and the infiltration of Social Justice ideology in the church today.
Jon Harris is the author of Christianity and Social Justice and Social Justice Goes to Church, both which were incredibly informative on the Social Gospel and Social Justice. I’ve been a subscriber to his channel for awhile and it’s been a great resource in helping me identify how both are entering the evangelical church today. So I wanted to bring him into TE to look more at what the Social Gospel is, where it stems from, and how it connects Social Justice. If you want to dive into this issue as well, I suggest you pick up his book and check out his channel. It was such an honor to meet Jon Harris and discuss this topic.

IF:Equip's Arise- Seeds of Social Justice (Pt.3 Jesus & Justice)
What does IF:Equip's Arise teach about Jesus and Social Justice?
IF:Equip's Arise, claims that Jesus’ ministry was mostly focused on the marginalized, oppressed, and poor in society. His purpose was to always set free, heal, and feed and that these acts of mercy and compassion were Jesus fighting for justice.
In this episode we will look at how IF:Equip's Arise presents Jesus. We will look at what they claim His mission and ministry was. Both Social Gospel and IF:Equip's Arise teach that Jesus set about to uproot social norms, and to bring temporal comforts to social groups. They claim that Jesus was stating that His this was His mission by quoting Isaiah 61:1-2 to make this claim in Luke 4:16-18. But is this true? What did Jesus mean by quoting Isaiah 61:1-2?
IF:Equip's Arise also makes the claim that Jesus was always quick to heal, feed, and rescue the oppressed; that Jesus always did these things when presenting the Gospel and was even willing to "break a rule" to love His neighbor through social acts of restoration. I wanted to look at Scripture and see if that was true.
Bottom line: what is the problem with presenting Jesus as a Social Justice warrior? Where might this lead an unbeliever or a new convert? What might this do to the faith, assurance, and sanctification of a wife and a mother?

IF:Equip's Arise- Seeds of Social Justice (Pt 2. Restored to Restore)
Thoroughly Equipped Season 2 Episode 29
IF:Equip's Arise, claims that the church is the light of the world whose mission is to bring restoration to it by "fighting against the darkness".
Today we will look at the other 2 foundations IF:Equip's Arise presents for why Christian (specifically Christian women) are to fight for justice…that, as followers of Christ, we are the light of the world and must “push back the darkness of injustice” and that we were restored to restore the world through reconciliation. In essence the mission of the church is to bring justice to this world.
All of this at first glance sounds biblical, sounds true. The statement that Christ followers are the light of the world and are to push back against the darkness is a true statement. Where we start to see problems is when we begin to understand what Arise means by being lights, and what Arise teaches about how we are to push back against the darkness. Arise has a specific teaching in this study about what it means to be a light. What does IF:Equip's Arise teach the darkness is? What does IF:Equip's Arise teach about what it means to be the light and walk in the light? How is a Christian to bring restoration? What does the church need to do to bring reconciliation?
Does IF: Equip's Arise teach what Scripture teaches about what it means to be a light in the world, what it means to fight the darkness, and how a Christian woman is to bring reconciliation and restoration? Let's compare it to Scripture.

IF:Equip's Arise- Seeds of Social Justice (Pt 1: God & Justice)
Thoroughly Equipped Season 2 Episode 28
Justice is an important issue that is at the foundation of the Gospel. It has been a highly charged topic in our society today. God is just therefore justice should be important to the Christian. But to exercise justice it must be rightly defined, depend on who God is, and should be guided by God's word. We can claim God is just but we must first ask what does it mean to be "just". Does IF:Equip's women's discipleship study Arise: A Study on God's Heart for Justice lay a solid foundation that will produce true justice?
Let's dive in and look at what IF:Equip's Arise teaches about justice.
Topics include:
- Why is justice important according to IF:Arise?
- What is justice and what does it have to do with righteousness?
- The image of God a good place to start with when we want to study justice?
- Is justice a Gospel work?
- Does IF:Arise sow Social Gospel seeds?

Let's Talk About the Speakers of the IF:Gathering
Going deeper into our critique of the IF:Gathering Conference I look at the popular consistent speakers.
Topic discussed in this episode include:
Questions to answer before we decide to put ourselves under a certain female teacher. Questions such asDo they identify as a pastor?
Do they preach over men?

We look at some of each speakers work, what they are known for, if they call themselves pastor, if they preach over men, and if they connect themselves with false teachers.
This is to lay ground work for the following critique on the conference where I will go over some of the teachings presented and how Scripture was handled at the conference.
