Laverne and Shirley - S8E2
Schlameel! Schlamazel! This episode is all about one of the most famous comedy couples in classic TV, Laverne and Shirley. When it jumped the shark is hard to pin down. Was it the last episode that Shirley appeared in, or the one after? Well, we went with the last episode and it was a doozy. There's some wild sitcom shenanigans going on in this one and I'm real glad we picked it. Nothing like a good hypnotist trope to really bring the weirdness in. We also got to talk about a bunch of behind the scenes stuff that I was completely unaware of. Hope you learn something! Next time, Amy is taking us all the way to Cocoa Beach with I Dream of Jeannie!  Watch: I Dream of Jeannie - S5 Episodes 7 and 8. It's a two parter! Star Trek: The Original Series - S3E1
Space! The final frontier. We went there this week ya'll. We had a great conversation about Star Trek: The Original Series. It went full B-movie on this episode with Spock having his brain stolen by an attractive race of alien beings. Did we like it? Find out! Next time on the show, we'll be covering Laverne & Shirley Season 8 Episode 2. They move away from Milwaukee and into Manhattan. Location changes are a classic "Jump the shark" moment, and I'm really looking forward to it. The Flintstones - S6E8
It's the Flintstones! They're a modern stone-age family! And we're a modern show that reviews stone-age television, so this was kind of an inevitable match up. Travis takes us all the way back to Bedrock to take a look at the first animated prime time sitcom. In this "Jumping the Shark" episode, Travis has gone with the old TV trope of introducing a new character when the writers weren't entirely sure what to do. That character in this instance is The Great Gazoo! The alien with unexplained magical powers who drops into the lives of the main characters and opens up a world of ... interesting plot points.  Next time, Audie is going to take us to outer reaches of space with Star Trek! Yes, the original series. Empty Nest - S1E1
What better way to end a spin-off episode than a spin-off of one of our greatest reviewed shows so far! On this episode we reviewed Empty Nest! What did we think of this, and would we watch more? You'll find out on this episode of Those Were The Days! Next week, we're kicking off "Jumping the Shark" month! We'll take a look at episodes of classic TV that were just so left field, that people wondered if they'd just run out of ideas. Each of us will be taking on our own interpretation of what "jumping the shark" really means, so look forward to some wild choices. Green Acres - S4E8
Is Green Acres the place to be? What does happen at an old rural post office? You're about to find out! Taxi - S3E8
If you expect to learn a valuable drug lesson from 1981 television, you may have come to the wrong place! This week we took a look at classic sitcom, Taxi! Latka bakes some of his grandmother's cookies and they may contain an ingredient that no on expected. We had such a good time talking about this show. It's truly remarkable how dense with comedy this episode is and it really showed how the actors and writers pair together to make something that could be just "kinda funny" absolutely uproarious.  We hope you enjoy it!  In the meantime, our new poll is up to pick the next theme for the show, so swing over to @thosedaysshow on twitter and vote! Or just send us an email to telling us which of these you want to see us cover: Power Couples, Politics, Cooking Shows, or Spin Offs! Dinosaurs - S2E9
Dinosaurs ran as part of ABC's TGIF block in the early 90's and was far more successful than it ever would be today. It had a charm and humor to it that was really only possible in the capable hands of the Jim Henson company. They were masters of the subversive humor that allowed them to talk about subjects that no one else would be able to get away with, let alone be celebrated for.  We had an absolute watching this episode all about a New Leaf, and it wound up with a message that was largely unheard of when it came to shows trying to tackle the tricky subject matter of drugs. If you didn't watch it, go back and check it out! The whole series is streaming on Disney+ Next week! You need to watch Taxi, Season 3 Episode 8 - Latka's Cookies. You can find this one on DailyMotion at this link I LOVE this episode of Taxi and I can't wait to share it with you. Send an email telling us what drug you think is in the cookies! or @thosedaysshow on twitter Thanks again!

Doogie Howser, MD - S1E1
When we were kids, there was a common phrase that would fly around anytime a smart kid was around: "They're a Doogie Howser." Well, this week we tackle the origin of that phrase, Doogie Howser, MD! This show came out in 1989 thanks to test audiences who asked for it. The network had no desire to pursue a show about a child doctor, but they couldn't turn down a populace that wanted it.
