Autism & Overcoming Anxiety Disorder (w/ Neurodivergent Rebel)

With a wealth of experience in public advocacy and local media, Thomas inspires autistic individuals across the globe with his athletic endeavors, personal experiences and scientific insights.  In this episode, Thomas talks to Christa (@neurodivergentrebel) about the struggles of anxiety disorders and how they tie into an autism diagnosis all too often. We explore the biological and social sides to anxiety, ways you notice your stress levels increasing, ways to prevent future panic attacks, and mindsets to develop in order to cope with the disorder.  Christa received a diagnosis of ASD late in life and it brought her through all the different stages of grief, before she accepted this new information. She never planned to be such a social media star, but since the rise in her popularity, she’s been helping others and raising awareness. Lorraine heads the social media side of the company as a Brand Manager, and puts a strong emphasis on forming a supportive and helpful community for parents and autistic individuals. Her teenage son Jamie was diagnosed on the autistic spectrum and she has a wealth of interesting stories/insights as a parent, but also as a member of the 'autism club' herself. In this episode, Thomas talks Guy Shahar about his experience of taking his autistic son to the Mifne Centre in Israel. Guy recollects on the early signs of autism his son showed the difficulties of dealing with healthcare workers and the surprising news of his own diagnosis. In light of the positive changes he saw in his own son, Guy aspires to take this alternative therapy to the western world in the hope that he can bring a small slice of the Mifne Centre to other families in need of change.
