Episode 6
Book Review of The Fourth Turning by William Strauss and Neil Howe
There are three ways you can look back at history:
- Chaotic – “history has no path. Events follow one another randomly, and any effort to impute meaning to their whrigling succession is hopeless.”
- Linearism – history as progress, “the belief in indefinite scientific, economic, and political improvement”, linear time is a unique (and usually progressing) story with an absolute beginning and and absolute end.”
- Cyclical – repetitive, “time is endless, yet also endlessly completed and renewed, propelled by elaborate rituals resembling the modern seasonal holidays”
In, The Fourth Turning: An American Prophecy, Will and Neil make the claim that history is cyclical. And they provide many examples from the ancients.

Episode 5
Small Talk Equals Big Changes
Now more than ever, as we creep back into our outside lives, we should be opening up some of ourselves, a bit at a time. Small talk with people can lead to big changes in our community. Changes that bring us back to how it used to be. Or at least, back to talking to each other. What we need now more than ever, are people who take it upon themselves to facilitate that. People that help remind us of our connection to our fellow mortals. Will you be one of the few that says, “Hi”?

Cycled Seasons of the Saeculum OR How to Survive and Thrive in Our Current Crisis Era
Our ancestors danced to the rhythms of nature. We would do well to listen to them play their songs.
Rectify. Converge. Bond. Gather. Root. Brace. Hedge.
The Fourth Turning could mark the end of the nation. It could mark the end of the modern era. It could put North America in a worse situation that it already is in. Or, The Fourth Turning could put us and the rest of the world in a better spot than we are now.
Whatever happens, we will persevere. And the preparations me make now will help us no matter what comes of the future. Building strong relationships with your family and community, getting healthier, and improving your skills are always something I would bet on.
Season 4
Episode 3
Fourth Time’s a Charm OR How to Unravel Our Biodigital Future Selves
NFTs, crypto, and blockchain will look like yeoman farming compared to what’s coming.
How should we prepare? Stay and fight. But what does fighting even look like? I don’t mean taking up arms like the yeoman farmers against the armoured knights did. I don’t believe we’re there yet. Having Skin in the Game. Becoming Antifragile. Solidifying and Diversifying your Talent Stack. Becoming a Person that Can’t Be Cancelled. These are the ways in which we can fight back. And get the future we actually want for ourselves, instead of a future that is forced upon us with no room for exceptions or compromise.
Season 4
Episode 2
The Future of Violence and The Amplification of Our Ancestors Flaws
The Future of Violence and The Amplification of Our Ancestors Flaws
The future of violence is the same as the our past violence, but with more rivets and wires. Will the future of violence also bring a revelation towards peace? Our past is a reflection of who we were, and who we are now is an evolution of our flaws. We better figure out what’s important to us, or once again, history won’t repeat - but it will rhyme with the tune of waring groups and many lives lost to history.
Hopefully we get our sh*t together, or we’ll have the same flaws for the next thousand of years, but this time, amplified with Moore’s Law to back it up.
Reading New UFO Report from US DoD and Navy
Yesterday, UFO nerds and geeks everywhere, converged on the internet to be the first citizens to read the highly anticipated UFO report from the US Department of Defence and Navy. I was one of them.
Summary:
- UFOs are real
- 144 reports were analyzed from 2004-2021
- Most reports came from 2019
- All reports came from USG military personnel
- 143/144 ufo reports still remain unknown
- "The limited amount of high-quality reporting on unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) hampers our ability to draw firm conclusions about the nature or intent of UAP"
- "In a limited number of incidents, UAP reportedly appeared to exhibit unusual flight characteristics"
- "UAP clearly pose a safety of flight issue and may pose a challenge to U.S. national security"
I read all 9 pages of the report, listen here!
If you've read the report, feel free to let me know what you though about it.
What Will You Do When the Aliens Come AND 3 Ways to Prep for the Alien Invasion
It’s nighttime. You’re in bed. And your mobile device lights up. I thought I turned off all my notifications, you think to yourself. It’s the new National Wireless Emergency Alert Ready System the government has been testing out this past year.
It reads…
EMERGENCY ALERT / ALERTE D’URGENCE / ALERTA DE EMERGENCIAEXTRATERRESTRIAL SPACESHIPS INBOUND. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A TEST.
The coming spaceship of an alien species will enter Earth’s atmosphere in 24 hours.
What do you do?

A Tale of Two Tutors
Picking a tutor can be tough. You want the best support you can find for you or your loved ones.
A good tutor takes care of themselves outside of tutoring. A good tutor prepares for sessions. And a good tutor pays attention to a learner in order to provide support and help when needed.
But what does it mean to be a ‘Good Tutor’?
Here are 2 simple examples for you, of a Good Tutor vs a Bad Tutor, and how you can develop the skills to become one or recognize the type of person you want tutoring you!
Sober Letters to My Drunken Self by Ed Latimore
I drank from sixteen years old to thirty-four years old. For the first time ever, this past January, I passed one year of no booze.
For the first few months of not drinking, it was quite tough. But Ed’s book was there, on my phone in my pocket, ready when I needed some sober words to clarify my sober thoughts.
The book deals with:
-the uncertainty of quitting booze
-the peer pressure to drink again
-the simple step in admitting you have a problem with booze
-and the internal and external positive effects quitting alcohol will have on your relationships with the people you love.
“The thing that drove you to drink can also drive you to greatness.” -Ed Latimore
Do You Believe in Aliens?
There has been a general ‘buzz’ permeating social media this past year. People stuck inside for a year has had us online way too much. We’re reading blog articles and watching videos that we don’t usually explore.
Not only that, but the recent satellite and rocket launches that Elon Musk has been doing almost every week PLUS the Perseverance rover landing on the surface of Mars – has piqued people’s interest in aliens and UFOs (or the new popular term, UAP – unidentified aerial phenomena).
I’m trying to wrap my head around all this. It can be confusing sometimes. Heck, there is even a riff and disagreement between the OGs and young-guns of the UFO-niche community. It’s fun for a newbie like me though.
Which brings us to this question…
Do I believe in aliens?I’m not sure yet. Maybe the UFOs are from another country or even some rich billionaire. Who knows. But we are going to find out by summertime 2021, (some of) what the heck the US government knows about UFOs.
Do YOU believe in aliens?Let us know!
Stop Reading the News by Rolf Dobelli and 23 Reasons Why the News Sucks
Ever since I stopped following major news outlets and reading the news everyday, I feel so much better.
I’ve read the introduction and it was fun. The author, Rolf Dobelli, shares a story of how he was at a dinner party full of journalists, and told all of them that ‘the news is worthless and that their jobs are meaningless.’ It was a tough crowd. But funny.
Perhaps by the end of this book, the author will have convinced me to stop reading the news completely. I’m excited to find out!
Probable Impossibilities by Alan Lightman
I was first introduced to the wonderful writing of physicist, Alan Lightman, about five years ago. I found his book during one of my many autodidact adventures into science. In that book, Alan Lightman takes his expertise in science and the humanities, and weaves it together with a simple and pleasing writing style. I was excited (yes I get excited about new books, and you should too) when I saw on Edge.org’s digital library, that Alan Lightman had a new book come out earlier this year, February 9th 2021. The book is titled, Probable Impossibilities: Musings on Beginnings and Ends https://www.amazon.ca/Probable-Impossibilities-Musings-Beginnings-Endings/dp/152474901X
Converging Technologies and Robot Avatars
Robot Avatars will disrupt entire industries. Maybe all of them.
That's what you call a, 'Secondary Wave': these are the indirect, unintentional consequences of Converging Technologies. For example, imagine if people had Robot Avatars, they wouldn't need to travel, think of the impact that would have on the airline industry!
Another side effect of Converging Technologies is, crime and violence committed by Robot Avatars - if people could commit violence with their R.A. would it still be their responsibly? What would the laws look like? Let me know!
The Future Is Faster Than You Think by Peter Diamandis and Steven Kotler
I'm always on the lookout for cool new science books. I found this one recently titled, "The Future Is Faster Than You Think by Peter Diamandis and Steven Kotler.
From Amazon "Dr. Peter Diamandis is the Chairman and CEO of the X PRIZE Foundation, which leads the world in designing and launching large incentive prizes to drive radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity." and "Steven Kotler is a New York Times bestselling author, award-winning journalist, founder and Executive Director of the Flow Research Collective."
