She takes us through Exodus 34:6 to reflect on God’s love for us and encourages the importance of checking in with ourselves. She says follow the “RAIN” to discover and balance your thoughts and emotions: Recognize, Acknowledge, Investigate, and Nurture.  By practicing self-care, Casey tells us, it's within our relationship with God that we gain the strength to course correct and stop ourselves from crashing and burning.

This week's episode features a replay with Jo Saxton as she talks about showing up for your calling! What does it look like for women to live into their specific passions and callings in the Church and beyond? Jo Saxton chats with Pastor Andrew McCourt about what it can look like for us to lift up one another as we pursue our calling in Jesus. Jo encourages all of us, as women leaders, to "stop waiting to be invited into what you already know to be true for your life."

Today, we spent some time with L.A. Native, Shayley Combe. Not only has she led a thriving Children's Ministry for 10 years, but she continues to love hard like Jesus and pours her heart of gold into fostering children. 

Shayley shared about the special experience the last ten years have been in her life. God's hands have constantly steered her to extend his love for the children. With the influence of her grandparents, Shayley felt God's calling on her life to teach healthy attachment, expectations, and emotions that children should experience in a secure home. Our time with Shayley magnified the importance in meeting people where they are at like Jesus and shined light on awareness of foster care.

In today's episode, we had the privilege to chat with Christy Nockels. We get to talk about her new book, what life has been like for her in this last season and what she's looking forward to in this next year. Plus, we get to celebrate a graduation! This is a can't-miss episode. 

Christy Nockels has long had a huge appreciation for music and for ministry and its role in the kingdom of God. As a worship leader for over 25 years, she’s seen first hand how music can usher people into the presence of God in a powerful way. Whether she’s singing a soft, lullaby or belting out a corporate anthem, Christy’s heart has always been to simply lead people to connect and communicate with the living God.

Christy still lives in Franklin, TN with her husband Nathan and their three children, Noah (18), Elliana (16) and Annie Rose (11). They affectionally call their homestead, “Keeper’s Branch”, a play on their street name but also a promise from Psalm 121. Their hope is that their home will be a sanctuary and a place of rest and creativity for their family, as well as all who enter in.

“Building our community should be as natural as potty training” – Morgan May

After a year of isolation and distant community, we’ve learned that returning to life after COVID-19 highlights hope for the world would fall in love with people again because we are not designed to survive alone.  Community is essential, just as you are essential.  We sat down for a heart to heart with a dear friend, Morgan May, who shares that God’s word is the solution to messy chaos and necessary grace.  Morgan takes vulnerability to another level by sharing her personal testimony of clinical anxiety and now the reality of social anxiety many of us face today.  She breaks down scripture in Ephesians, Luke, and Acts to remind us about the purpose and value of an inner circle/small group.  This conversation opens the dialogue for dropping expectations of others and strengthening our belief in God’s word because as we elevate God, we become less consumed by ourselves.

It can be easier to share the gospel than invite someone into your life because messiness is very real and not so appealing. After talking with Women’s Pastor, Lindsey Hansen, of Rolling Hills Church in El Dorado Hills, California; we discuss the blessings and challenges in taking a step of faith.  

She peeled back the layers of the biblical call for women and the urgency for inclusion that is needed more today than ever before.  In Joshua 1:9, we’re reminded that the Lord has prepared a way for us; in a space for us to thrive and flourish. Intention and invitation teach us to be the includer that keeps extending the table for women of all ages.  Lindsey asks, “What is Jesus trying to teach you through the relationships and seasons you are in?”  

It is important to know you should not be ashamed of your humanity in relationship, we are designed to pursue life together in relationships.  Listen in to hear how the power of community can be deeply spiritual and transformational.

Today we have a powerful conversation with Juli Wilson. Juli is an author, editor, and speaker, living in beautiful Southern California with her two sons, Finch and Denham. As one of the founders of Anthem of Hope, she spends her days speaking life and sharing hope at churches, schools, and conferences around the country.

Juli and Jarrid were married in 2013, and quickly realized they shared a passion for helping those who felt far from God find hope, healing, and restoration. In 2016, they started Anthem of Hope together to specifically help those struggling with mental health issues.

To honor Jarrid’s legacy, Juli continues to shout this anthem to remind others that they are never alone, and that their lives matter.
