Thriving on Our Own Terms with Integrative Health Coach Leslie Thorpe

Welcome to another episode of Thriving Together! In this episode, I chat with Leslie Thorpe, an integrative health coach and one of our Collective leaders and members at Chronicon. Leslie shares her journey of overcoming cancer at the age of 22 and the struggles she faced with chronic conditions. She opens up about her work as a coach and the importance of boundaries for those with chronic illnesses.

Leslie Thorpe is an Integrative Health Coach certified by Duke Integrative Medicine and the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches. Before beginning her wellness journey, she was a health care and employee benefits attorney and a stay-at-home mom. Leslie has lived her adult life with recurrent lymphoma and autoimmune issues. A Journey Through Self-Acceptance

A Journey Through Self-Acceptance

Hey everyone, welcome back to Thriving Together! I am so grateful for all of you who have been listening so far, and for the positive feedback I have received. It's been a journey for me to get here, but I'm loving the process of recording and sharing my thoughts with you all.

In this episode, I want to talk about embracing imperfection and the pressure we put on ourselves to be perfect. I know I can be hard on myself at times, and I see so many people holding themselves back because they don't have the fancy equipment or setup. But I want to remind you that you don't need all of that to create content that people enjoy. The fact that you're here listening to this show, despite the fact that it's not recorded in a fancy studio, is proof of that!

I've also been touched by the messages and comments I've received from listeners, reminding me that they love me just the way I am. This has been a huge relief and has made a big difference in how I approach this podcast. I feel like I can show up and be myself, without feeling the pressure to do things perfectly.

So, let's embrace our imperfections and start this journey of self-acceptance together. I hope you enjoy this episode and continue to tune in!

Here’s what we discuss in this episode:

Can You Still Thrive if You Have to Take Steps Backwards?

Can You Still Thrive if You Have to Take Steps Backwards?

In this episode of Thriving Together, I share what thriving doesn't look like and how it's important to recognize when things aren't going as planned. I also share my personal experience of moving back home to New Jersey and deciding to sublet my apartment in Williamsburg! My point in sharing this with you is to encourage you to trust your instincts, know when to take a step back, even if that means taking a break. Grab a cozy drink and come listen to this soulful yet vulnerable episode. And as always, thank you for being here.

Here are some other things I share in this episode:

  • How taking steps back can actually propel you forward
  • The importance of learning to stop trying to do everything yourself and the pressure we put on ourselves to produce
  • Reflection on the realization that the current situation may not be the way forward and the importance of taking the time to figure out what's next
  • Trusting your journey and avoiding comparing yourself to others
