Episode 42- 'The media pick and choose what they want to post'

Episode 42- 'The media pick and choose what they want to post'

Earlier this year Israel issued illegal eviction notices to Palestinians, paving the way for extremist Israeli settlers to steal the homes of those who have been settled for decades in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood. Peaceful protests have been taking place by residents of Sheikh Jarrah to gain their human rights back. Israeli forces retaliated and attacked Al Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan, whilst Palestinians were praying. Over 600 people were wounded over 3 days.

The attacks are continuing and innocent people are losing their homes, families and lives every single day. We wanted to dedicate an episode in order to raise awareness and educate people on these attacks. We need to continue sharing, posting and informing people on the atrocities taking place.   #GazaUnderAttack #SaveSheikhJarrah #FreePalestine

This episode focuses on polyamory and the impact it has on relationships, children, and lifestyles. Karina gave us homework to watch two videos that focus on this topic, one is very WEIRD so, we would strongly advise watching them before tuning into this episode as we refer to them quite a bit (links below). We lead on to converse about the possibility of exploring polyamory and whether spending £200 on SMASH burgers is too much! The vibe of this episode is pretty chill as we discuss this controversial topic so, enjoy!

Episode 35- '"You tend to gravitate towards those who look like you"

Welcome to episode 35! We watched an interview of a Caucasian gentleman in Oldham telling a reporter he does not like living next door to Asians, so we thought it would only be right to explore the reasons of why Racial Segregation still exists within the UK and how we can help to combat it.  We conversed about this through many different areas such as: places we live, places we work, places of education and even within the entertainment industry. It's crazy to think of the many ways segregation takes place within our day to day lives and how a lot of us do not notice it exists.

Episode 33 - ‘Boys will be Boys’

Episode 33 - ‘Boys will be Boys’

On 3rd March 2021, 33-year-old Sarah Everard disappeared in South London. Wayne Couzens, a Metropolitan Police officer with the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection unit, was arrested in Kent, firstly on suspicion of Everard's kidnapping and later on suspicion of her murder. Her remains were found in the woods near Kent. Couzens was charged with kidnapping and murder two days later.

Today we discuss- the tragedy of Sarah's death and the outrage it has had on women in the UK and worldwide. Women being harassed and experiencing gender-based injustices is nothing new within our world- however the time has come (once again), where women have had enough. We explore the many reasons of why women are not safe and we also explore how men have a role to play in relieving the fear instilled within women. The controversial hashtag: 'Not All Men' is also spoken about, as well as discussions regarding whether things will ever change.

Rest in paradise Sarah Everard.

We had our first-ever male guest on the show: Adam Gordon!  One of the topics explored in this episode is Men's Mental Health, where Adam and Aman share their own experiences, as well as highlighting how the topic is viewed in society and why it seems as though it is never spoken about. The topic of Further Education arose and Adam helped educate us on the many stigmas, barriers, and racial injustices those of Caribbean descent face in regards to this. He also enlightened us on a number of racial divisions within black culture and dropped some important black history that educational institutions fail to teach in this country.
