Heal from the Inside Out Series #8: Weed Out Anger
If we are truly our thoughts, what is the use of uncontrolled, consistent anger? Anger often leads to unhealthy events within ourselves and the world. We don't have to be angry human beings. We can align with the divine spirit of who we are. The quieter we become, the more we feel and see that which does not belong.

Heal from the Inside Out Series #7: Replace Self-rejection with Self-acceptance
There are enough experiences that can leave you doubting and questioning your life's meaning and purpose. But a change of thought can help you accept yourself and others, and it's through self-acceptance that we remember the divine spirit that we are.

The Seeds We Plant Series #37: You Don't Have to Struggle with Your Health
In this episode, I share my story about a planted seed that influenced my health. When I realized that I didn't need to struggle with a certain aspect of my health, my life changed for the better and so now I am helping my children to address health in a life-sustaining way. I share questions you can ask yourself to help break the generational cycle of pain of how we think about disease and illness.

The Seeds We Plant Series #36: Listening to Your Body and Healthy Eating
Millions of people struggle with achieving and maintaining optimal weight. As caregivers and parents, we can encourage our children to listen to their bodies to help them consume the right balance, moderation, and variety of foods. And as we teach our children about healthy nutrition, we reinforce the concepts within ourselves.
Even when you think about the principle Hara hachi bu (residents of Okinawa, Japan, 80/20 eating rule and living healthy, long lives), the underlying principle is listening to our bodies.

The Seeds We Plant Series #35: Be Your Best Friend First
Another powerful thing we can do for ourselves and those we care for is encourage them to be their best friend. We accept and love ourselves first, even through our life experiences, knowing that we deserve to care for ourselves no matter what.
In other words, being your best friend is critical to self-care and breaking the generational cycle of pain.
Healing from the Inside Out Series #5: Trust Yourself
In Healing from the Inside Out Series #5: Trust Yourself, I share how trust is critical in overcoming darkness. The more we build our trust in ourselves, the more we can help future generations do the same. When we trust ourselves, we speak up for ourselves and others. We see different paths instead of feeling stuck. We increase our chances of doing the right thing at the right time and often avoid more severe consequences.

The Seeds We Plant Series #34: Relationships and Self-Worth

Healing from the Inside Out Series #4: Removing Guilt Weeds
When we remove guilt from our inner garden, our Healing from the Inside Out Series #4: Removing Guilt Weeds, I discuss guilt and how we must assess our inner garden for this often debilitating and life-draining state. Guilt is not an emotion/feeling we must live with for a lifetime; it doesn't describe who we are. Our spiritual fruit has a better chance of yielding the harvest we need.
Before you go, subscribe to my newsletter, Notes on Life: Empowering You to Be You!
The Seeds We Plant Series #33: Forgiveness and Introspection
In The Seeds We Plant Series #33: Forgiveness, I share some personal experiences with putting my experiences in a healthy perspective and helping my children do the same. I discuss the importance of introspection as a necessary action in letting go.
Healing from the Inside Out Series #3: Releasing Shame
Shame is another powerful emotion that lets you know you have veered off the path of your truth. Like fear, it can cloud your vision if you allow it to grow inside you. You have the power to release shame and prevent its nutrition-robbing abilities. It may look like it belongs to you, but it doesn't. See shame for what it is and refuse to allow it to grow inside of you.
doesn't It may look like it belongs to you, but it doesn’t. See shame for what it is and refuse to allow it to grow inside of you. Anything that doesn't belong to you always rises to the top — your mind. Through your mind, we have the power to remove this weed shame, which will enable your spiritual fruit to grow.
Your mind (inner garden) will help you identify shame, and as you sit quietly with yourself, you can remove the roots and growth inside of you. In its place, you can replant the spiritual fruit of peace by using affirmations and principles to ground yourself.
The Seeds We Plant Series #32: Energy Work: Return the Energy to its Rightful Owner
Regarding projected pain, it is better to give back than receive. When you experience anger, jealousy, shame, guilt, and the like, or when your emotions and feelings go to another level (e.g., blaming, badgering yourself and others in thoughts and words, and unwelcome or unhealthy physical contact), you continually grow the seeds inside you.
We can return angry, hateful, divisive, and demoralizing actions and words to their rightful owner before they take root and encourage our children to do the same.
Thanks for listening! Please share with anyone you feel would benefit from it.
Healing from the Inside Out Series #2: Mastering Anger
Our perspective about a life event often shows us our underlying beliefs about ourselves, others, and life. As students of life, we can look at our experience with an awakening. Every life event serves a divine purpose. Each experience is an opportunity to replant the spiritual seeds (kindness, joy, love, and the like) inside us instead of allowing weeds (harmful/unhealthy thoughts) to rob us of an abundant life. In episode #2 of Healing from the Inside Out, I share my thoughts about anger, a powerful emotion.
As always, make this lifetime great because you still can!

The Seeds We Plant#31: Fuel for the Body
Fuel is the mental nourishment (self-talk), rest, activities, and who and what we believe in that will affect how we respond to events and ultimately teach our children. Providing the right type of nourishment is essential to a smooth-running body. Every aspect of our health (emotional, financial, mental, physical, social, and spiritual) impacts others. For example, how we care for ourselves physically depends heavily on what we think about ourselves (mentally, emotionally, and spiritually).
As you go about today, think about how you nourish your body. Is it working for you? If so, are you passing some of these healthy behaviors down to future generations? If not, do you see your child or loved one mimicking your fuel choices and suffering from them, too?
You have the power to change the thoughts behind unhealthy behaviors and to continue healthy ones.
Thanks for listening!

The Seeds We Plant Series #30: Emotions and Feelings: The Data to Self Enlightenment
Emotions and feelings are data to let us know our path. They can lead us down through dark tunnels and dead ends or to a spiritually enlightened path. But, it is through our emotions and feelings that we can remember who we are. We can see the divine spirit that we are, life's meaning, and purpose. It isn't the experience that we need to focus on. Nor is it people. But it is that which is inside us--what we allow to inhabit inside us that we need to examine. We are greater than our experiences, and no life event defines us.
Healing from the inside out: There is no need for jealousy
Jealousy closes our eyes to the truth of who we are. We compare ourselves to others and desire to live their lives instead of our own. We forget that our lives have a divine purpose. It's time to remove jealousy from your inner garden and replace it with the Truth.
The Seeds We Plant Series #29: When You Love Someone, You Don't Put Them in a Bad Environment.
In this episode, I share a recent school experience that helped put my children in the driver's seat of their education and is now the template for future relationships.
The Seeds We Plant Series #28: You Have the Right to Be You!
In this podcast, I discuss how our environment can help shape us, but ultimately, we choose the thoughts and, therefore, the life we want. At any time, we can break the generational cycle of pain by examining our thoughts, picking out the weeds (unhealthy thoughts), and nourishing the spiritual seeds within us.
Respect doesn't look to be liked. Respect comes with a conviction of being yourself regardless of what others do.
The Seeds We Plant Series: The Power of the Tongue
In this episode, I share my thoughts on how we can use our tongues to continue or break the cycle of pain. Sometimes, through sharing our pain (e.g., insecurities, doubts, fears, and the like) with our children, we don't realize the negative impact it can have on their mindset and actions. In addition, I share how we can break the cycle of pain through consciousness, the ultimate way of creating a generational cycle of love.
The Seeds We Plant Origin: One of the Greatest Gifts of Parenthood
In this episode, I share my first time realizing how powerful seeds are. Cultivating life-giving seeds is an opportunity that all parents have and is a means of breaking the generational cycle of pain. We must transmute our pain into light to help us and our children see clearly. They are not their experiences or victims of their emotions and feelings.
As always, let me know your thoughts and share this podcast with others.
Thanks!

The Seeds We Plant Series #25: Give from the Heart and Expect Nothing in Return
We would avoid a lot of anxiety, anger, disappointments, frustration, guilt, shame, violence, vengeance, and the like if we gave and expected nothing in return. The heart is the center of our actions; to preserve it, we must not allow strings of destruction to attach to it, for out of the heart flows the issues of life (acceptance, forgiveness, joy, and homicidal and suicidal thoughts). When we give from the heart, we open ourselves to Infinite Intelligence. Be grateful for experiences that unveil emotions and feelings, unlike your true self. Be grateful for the opportunities to speak with your children about giving. For what you teach, you ground the principles within yourselves.
Freedom Fridays: Aren't You Worth Them?
In this podcast, I share some background information on why I started Freedom Fridays. You are worth the energy, money, and time to experience happiness, joy, freedom, and love.
The Seeds We Plant Series: God Is Not In a Building
In The Seeds We Plant Series: God Is Not In a Building, I encourage you to know our Creator for yourself. Too often, we take on others' faith instead of our own. We crumble when things don't go well instead of trusting that we are part of a divine plan. In addition, even more today, our children need to know their lives have meaning and purpose. Bullying and abuse in any form do not negate their worth. We don't have to push our beliefs on our children. We can encourage them to seek the all-knowing, all-powerful, everywhere, loving Spirit for themselves.
Thanks for listening!
As always, make this lifetime great because you still can!

Remember Who You Are Series #19: Look Beyond the Image
Have you ever silenced your voice because of someone's title or the perceived image of an organization? The image of someone or something does not negate the truth. Sometimes, people hide their pain behind their titles, places, positions, and accolades. We must see beyond images and accept the truth. When you embody and express the necessary courage to shine light on darkness, we hold people accountable for their pain and can, at the same time, encourage them to acknowledge and safely address their unhealed wounds.
As always, make this lifetime great because you still can!
The Seeds We Plant Series #23: Confidence
In this episode, I share what I believe is the root of confidence and how we can go beyond relying on ourselves and others. We can empower our children to feel more confident by helping them remember who they are. We must ask ourselves, if we put more confident children in the world, would we have greed, violence, self-hatred, and the like (generational cycle of pain) circling the world?
Thanks for listening!
As always, make this lifetime great!

The Seeds We Plant: The Teacher is Always the Student First
In this episode, I share the importance of having a learner mindset instead of assuming that we have and must know all of the answers. Children are here to remind us of who we are and our link to the Source of Life.
How do you keep a learner-mindset?
As always, make this lifetime great!
Timika
The Seeds We Plant Series #22: Compassion
In this episode, I discuss critical building blocks to aligning with compassion, a virtuous seed all of us have. Every day, we have opportunities to look beyond our experiences and create the world we want to have from the inside out. The more we react to pain in an unhealthy way, the more experiences with pain we have. In other words, we can break the cycle of pain through compassion.
Remember Who You Are Series #18: You Are More Than Your Experiences
When we identify with our experiences, we are unstable and are tossed to and fro. Our emotions can lead us to tumultuous detours with more of the same experiences we are trying to escape. The more grounded we are in our truth, the less we become disturbed by others' actions. Spend time today asking yourself, Who am I Really?
Peace comes not only with meditation but with the realization of who you are.
As always, make this lifetime great because you still can!
Timika
The Seeds We Plant Series #22: Respect
We must remember that nothing happens overnight, especially bullying-type behavior. Unfortunately, people who hurt, sometimes hurt others, consciously and unconsciously. We must shed light on dark places and be willing to converse with the people involved. One life taken is too many. One life spared helps many. You can break the cycle of pain and create a generational love cycle. Believe and Achieve.
Timika
Remember Who You Are Series #17: Presence
In this episode, I share how presence can create a generational love cycle. Within every experience is information. How we interpret that information will be critical in our daily presence. Living in the past continues the cycle of pain, whereas presence helps us to intervene early and appropriately.
What Do You Do When You Hear of Another Kidnapping?
I hope all is well with you and yours! Yesterday, a friend called me. She wanted to tell me two things. She informed me that her family would be in town next month, and the other shocking news she told me was that someone had kidnapped a girl. Thankfully, they found the girl. But, still, you are left thinking the kidnapping of children is still happening. So, what do you do?
Do we live in fear or become empowered to make a difference, speak with our children, listen to them, and guide them to make the best decisions?
In this episode, What Do You Do When You Hear of Another Kidnapping, I discuss how you can use a potentially traumatic experience to empower yourself and your child.
Make this lifetime great because you still can!

Know Our Creator For Yourself
Our overall health and being in this world depends on our relationship with our Creator, the Source of life and living. This Higher Intuitive Energy is not limited to a book, building, religion, or anything else. What matters most is what we believe about this Energy, for out of it, we find ourselves and the true meaning of our lives. Our Creator wants a personal experience with everyone. The more you draw to it, the more it draws to you and reminds you that you are loved, loving, and can express love.
As always, make this lifetime great because you still can!
The Seeds We Plant Series #21: Commitment
What does commitment mean to you? What are you committed to (e.g., love, acceptance, truth, understanding or fear, rejection, illusions, judgment, and others)? How are you showing your commitment to yourself and others?
The world has so many distractions, and it’s easy to get caught up in what others are doing. All of us are here for divine reasons, and we must start with the understanding that our lives serve as a commitment to love. Let’s commit to:
- Using our voice for good, edifying others, advocating, and supporting each other. We address people respectfully. We tame our tongues and look for healthy ways to express our emotions and feelings.
- Using our bodies for good. The human body is the vehicle through which we serve. We respect our bodies and do not impose ourselves on others. We don’t use them as a weapon for us or against others. We don’t use our bodies to cover up insecurities.
- Using our minds for good. We think healthy thoughts of healing and oneness. We focus our minds on doing the work we are here to do.
The seeds we plant become the harvest that feeds us and surrounds us.
Remember Who You Are Series #15: Advocate Instead of Suffocate
Many stigmas still surround speaking up or advocating for yourself. Some people fear speaking up for themselves for fear of punishment (losing their job, people not liking them or being ostracized, being called a tattletale or other names, or being yelled out or physically punished). There are healthy ways of expressing ourselves, but when we imprison others to believe their emotions, feelings, and words don’t matter, some look for other means to express themselves. Unfortunately, we’ve seen it in teenage suicide, homicides, and violence in many forms. Abuse and neglect of others continue because they are told they will be punished, or someone they love will be punished if they speak the truth.
Speaking your truth builds confidence and self-esteem and encourages you to be more of your true self. When we release things that are hurting us in a healthy way, we enable healing and the child within us to express itself in wonderful ways. I’ve learned that we often gain respect when we stand firm in our beliefs, act from purified intentions, and express unwavering honesty.
We must listen with our hearts and put our pride aside. We must hear beyond the words and act earnestly to address concerns to prevent many of the preventable issues we have in the world.
How are you speaking up for yourself? How do you advocate for those you love so they don’t need external bandages to cover their pain? Remember, with learning, there is no guilt. We strive to improve each day, aligning with our divine spirit.
As always, make this lifetime great!
Timika
The Seeds We Plant Series #20: Cleanliness
Daily, we are to clean our bodies, minds, energies, and spirits. Every day, people plant seeds. We must keep the seeds that promote health instead of dis ease. In this episode, I share the practical definition of cleanliness and what it means to me spiritually.
Make this lifetime great because you still can!

Remembering You Who Are Series #14: Put Residual Emotions & Feelings In their Rightful Place
We treat ourselves and others based on what we believe about ourselves, not what we believe about them because if our belief about ourselves is right, then our thoughts about others are right. If we believe that our Creator made all of us in its image, then acceptance, love, forgiveness, and the like become more and more how we express ourselves. We don't allow our emotions and feelings to control us, for we know they can't control us. Instead of pulling others down or interfering with their life work, we help them. Instead of yelling at someone because they didn't make the best choice, we have compassion. Instead of judging people based on their cultural, social, and physical characteristics, we take delight because our Creator is all those things and more. When our thoughts about our image are right, our actions align with the Character that made us. We don't identify with unstable terminology because we are blown to and fro when the storms come.
We are more than human beings; we are spiritual entities. When we see our truth, we see others' truth.
As always, make this lifetime great because you still can!
The Seeds We Plant Series #19: Caring
Caring is a virtue all of us have access to. Caring behaviors energize and inspire people to be honest and do the right thing. We feel in control of our lives and know that we don't need to repeat the cycle of pain. Whatever we give out comes back to us and can either increase disease risk or promote healing.
How can you express caring right now? Who needs your love and attention now? If you don't know, go within. Your answer is waiting for you.
As always, make this lifetime great because you still can!
Timika
The Seeds We Plant Series #18: Assertiveness
We must turn ourselves to the stability of our foundation. What are we doing daily to ensure a stable character that withstands life's storms? We have access to everything we need to break the cycle of pain (e.g., bullying, intimidation, low self-worth, and others).
Even people who try to control and intimidate others often have pain points and feel out of control. They, too, need to learn how to voice their concerns confidently and respectfully.
As always, make this lifetime great because you still can!

Remember Who You Are Series #13. The Truth Shall Set You Free
Feeling an emotion is different from becoming it. We can safely acknowledge our feelings and dig deep into why we feel a certain way. Within the why is the catalyst for disease and optimal health. Often, our emotions and feelings come from expectations we hold about others. We all have a curriculum here on earth, and we earn the degree of becoming the highest version of ourselves. We have teachers (young and old) who are here to help us along the way. Our teachers are not always kind to us or provide accurate information. But that's when we aim to align with the Divine Energy to help us navigate our earthly journey and fulfill our divine purpose.
Remember that:
1. No experience defines you.
2. You choose how to interpret data. Experiences, emotions, and feelings are data to interpret.
3. Our role is to take the lessons from the experiences and use them to improve the world.
4. Experiences help remind you of who you are. See yourself as the curious, kind, joyful, loving, and creative spirit that you are.
5. Every experience prepares you for the next one, including sharing your lessons with your child.
6. We are Co-Creators of our lives.
7. People act from the heart. Out of the heart flows their issues of life.
8. Give people back their anger, pain, resentment, and the like. Hold them accountable for their healing.
9. Life-giving and sustaining healing is possible.
10. The Truth will set you free.
The Seeds We Plant Series #17: Unity
In this episode, I share my thoughts about unity, a well-needed conversation. Disunity can occur in any environment. We must search for the truth about unity within our hearts and dismantle thoughts that don't align with united humanity.
As I've shared in an earlier message this week. The truth doesn't suffer when we don't follow it. We do.
As always, make this lifetime great because you still can!
Timika
Remember Who You Are Series #12: Refuse to Be Less Than Who You Are
My mother often told us that someone will give you an identity if you don't know who you are. Labels can be used to illuminate you or destroy you. You must choose how you will perceive the data from your experiences. What we believe about ourselves affects how we move along our journey; we can avoid certain pitfalls and detours, get swallowed in our life storms, or observe our experiences. Every day, you can quiet yourself, assess your internal foundation for life-draining weeds, and remove them. You can become more conscious of your words about yourself and others. Realize that what you say about others comes from you and affects your being.
We must take time to reinforce our truths so that when the storms come, we stand strong.
As always, make this lifetime great because you can!

The Seeds We Plant Series #16: Unity and Schools
Schools are not exempt from the projection of pain unto others. Beyond the title are humans who must learn self-mastery like all human beings. Children still learn about love, fear, and hate, and although we can't be there to guide our children through their experiences, we can focus on building and strengthening their foundation (character) to help them transcend their experiences. We (as parents and role models) can share life-giving and sustaining principles. We can read empowering books about people who overcame certain injustices and devotionals aimed to reinforce that our children's lives have meaning. We ensure accurate, consistent, reliable, relevant, and timely communication with our children's schools. We address concerns immediately.
Children need to know they have voices and can use them. Children with confident, healing, and powerful voices become adults with confident, healing, and powerful voices. In addition, children must know that the environment doesn't need to change them for the worse but is an opportunity to do what's right.
Our children must know that we (parents) are for the truth, not to confirm their actions but to honor what is right.
As always, make this lifetime great because you still can!
Remember Who You Are: Your Body. Your Divine Message
Every single part of you has a divine purpose. Your outer covering is who you need to be to learn the lessons you are here to learn and to reflect the Energy that knows all, sees all, and is everywhere. Your body is the vehicle for your divine message. But, often, we punish ourselves and end up being against our body instead of for it because of our perceptions about who we think we are and others' actions or inactions.
However, what body can maintain itself if we constantly beat it up, overfeed it, overwork it, and place unrealistic demands on it?
Eventually, our bodies reflect what we do to them (fatigue, weight loss/gain, arthritis, and other labels out there in the world).
But when we change our mindset, we change our lives. We reconnect with our body and the Source of life.
May you always know how special you are to creation.
Thanks,
Timika
Remember Who You Are Series #10: Success Is Not the Best Revenge
How often have you heard the expression, "Success is the Best Revenge." If we navigate our earthly journey with the conscious or unconscious fuel, "You hurt me, and I'll show you what I will do." If you choose to be successful because of revenge, daily, you feed your nervous system, the entity that sends messages to every cell in your body, with vengeful thoughts. What messages are you sending to your body daily?
Because we are so focused on paying someone back, we can miss the cues that our body is out of harmony and more susceptible to disease. We can ruin relationships instead of increasing our bonds through communication and spending quality energy and time doing the things we love.
If you are putting projected pain in its rightful place (someone else's pain), seeing the person's heart, and not taking their actions personally, you don't have the energy, money, and time to waste on revenge. You have everything you need to transcend experiences, and you don't need to cover up your wounds. Instead, you focus more on using your experiences for the greater good without the excess baggage.
In addition, revenge is not ours. People create present and future energy with their actions and reap what they sew. Love is healing and wants others to heal, yet, love doesn't force people to do something they are not ready to do.
Therefore, revenge is unnecessary if you heal correctly from the inside out and put your experiences in a spiritual perspective. You don't seek revenge or have ill-will towards the person and just a conviction to do what you came here to do on all levels.
As always, make this lifetime great because you still can!

Remember Who You Are Series #9: Freedom is Your Birthright
Many of us still hold onto what others did or didn't do and subconsciously refuse to free ourselves. We have given others the right to choose whether we will be free. Remember anyone who doesn't admit the truth is often still in pain. We struggle with fulfilling our divine purpose and with our health and wonder why we can't accomplish what we set forth. We forget that our inner state is critical to what we experience in life. Refuse to be weighed down and distracted by others' actions and inactions.
As always, make this lifetime great because you still can!
Remember Who You Are: Hold Onto Your Core Beliefs
There is something deep within you that knows the truth. The truth's home is your heart and mind. Life events often test our beliefs, but we must hold firm to what we believe is true. We may be unable to explain our beliefs to others and sometimes ourselves. But just because we can't explain our beliefs in a moment of great despair or storm doesn't mean we are wrong. Faith is looking beyond our circumstances and believing the promises in our dreams, spiritual encounters, or just divine knowing.
When we remember who we are, there is divine healing. We will heal accordingly this lifetime by removing the thoughts that created the dis ease or disharmony in the first place.
Make this lifetime great because you still can!
The Seeds We Plant Series #15: Truthfulness
It's tempting to lie, especially when we want to impress others (be more than who we are), prove a point, get resources, or avoid doing something we said we would do. It takes courage to express the truth. More than likely, you've experienced someone not telling you the truth and experienced betrayal, confusion, and resentment. But let your experiences make you better instead of bitter. Seek the truth in all you do and pass this legacy on to your children.
We have enough to keep our lives focused. For example, we have our divine purpose and often a generation to guide. When we seek the truth, we seek the right actions, words, environments, and relationships with food, energy, money, people, and time. We see possibilities instead of limitations.
Make this lifetime great because you still can!

The Seeds We Plant #14 : Undoing the Cycle of Pain and Trustworthiness
The cycle of pain didn't start overnight. But, we all, at some point, have our introduction to this darkness. In addition, the virtue of trust is often lacking in families, healthcare, organizations, and in all areas of our lives. We have so much to distrust, but within us is the ability to regrow trust. Trust is one of the infallible seeds that lie within our hearts and minds.
Therefore, we have the ability to transform how we think and approach life. We must remember the spiritual being that we are to revitalize our hearts and minds.
As always, make this lifetime great because you still can!
Timika
The Seeds We Plant Series #13: Trust
Often, we are told to trust ourselves, or others encourage us to trust them. But our trust must be in a Higher Power to do the work we are here to do. We must have faith in something that knows all, sees all, and is everywhere. This power sees the heart of humans and knows what's best for us to achieve the Oneness of Spirit. Humans sometimes get swept by their emotions and feelings. Therefore, we don't put our faith in people or inanimate objects but in our Creator to show us the way along our earthly journey. We obtain stillness in matters via our trust in our Creator.
In addition, we must encourage our children to seek a relationship with our Creator to help them remember who they are and to carry out the work they are here to do.
Make this lifetime great because you still can!

The Seeds We Plant Series #12: Tolerance
Tolerating our experiences and humanity doesn't have to be hard. When you see another person, you see a reflection of truth and the energy, love, and power that created everything. In this episode, I share my thoughts on the virtue, tolerance, and how it can help you break the cycle of pain and create a generational love cycle.
