065 - Cheers to the TDS crew
This episode starts off with an update and some contextual ramblings by the host, which wrap at approx. 15 minutes in, but are full of affection and insight into the podcast. After that, it’s a full-frontal assault of hyping and showcasing full works, by 4 of the most integral people to the voice of THIS podcast. Music by singer/songwriters Katy Topham, JP Sunga, and jazz composer/performer William Chernoff; and a full episode of the podcast Describing A Rock, by Milo Axelrod. If you have the temperament to listen to and enjoy my show and this kind of thing, you’ll be getting am extra special treat, today!

064 - Coffeehouse Night #3 of 3
I couldn’t be happier to present another and the final collection of live and acoustic performances by the musical acts that have been on the podcast. Once again, the collection is a nice variance in styles. The artists performing are semi-recent guests: Evan Corneil, Sam Nabi, Tessa, Jessie T, Milana Boss, Mike Sharp, TayLynn and Paige Warner. Enjoy!

061 - Erin Wetzel
Erin Wetzel is KW’s 2019 Miss Oktoberfest, a life-long girl guide with a gift of cookies-in hand.. and a ray of warm sunshine as we continue through the dead of winter. We had a lovely chat about Erin, what she stands for, the role-model she hopes to be, the life-lessons she’s learned going into becoming today’s Miss O and more! I couldn’t be happier that this nice convo would be the last new one, recorded for this podcast. // Featuring some brand new music by JP Sunga, John Maskym, and some amazing music by Montreal’s Peach Guevara. Enjoy, and thanks for listening! For extended notes, links, photos and more, visit: https://todddonaldshow.blogspot.com/2020/01/061-erin-wetzel.html

060 - Paige Warner, Part 2
Paige Warner is an exceptional artist from this region, and I couldn’t be happier as a 35-year-old, to be a genuine fan of new music. Self-described as a diverse artist, you can feel R & B pulling some reigns, but not type-casting this 20-something's sound one bit. She’s a vocal powerhouse, with a personality as sweet as lemonade. Feel free to do the prep-work of listening to her first two chats/performances with me in episode 003… either way, you can now join us as we’re following up, following the online release of her most recent single “I Don’t Need Boys”. 059 - Sandra Dynka, Part 2
Sandra Dynka is an amazing person, full of excitement and an agenda to take on the world. She choses to devote her life to empowering others and figuring out the best ways to do that, is her chosen battleground. Coming to this episode from her prior appearance (episode 036), Sandra is re-configuring her identity from being KW Miss Oktoberfest, to make her mark on the world as Sandra. We explored her inner journey had time to goof off as well, great year!!! Enjoy! // Featuring music by Leila, Naked-Flubber & Glenna Garramone, as well as past guests Ophelia Syndrome. 058 - Jessie T
Jessie T, an accomplished singer/songwriter, pop, rock & country artist from Waterloo Region and judge on music competition show The Shot.. just happens to also be a good friend of mine, and yes, I’m kinda bragging. But the reason we’re friends is because of who we are as people, and genuine care, and it’s all over this episode, at a very un-nerving and stressful time of year. We centered ourselves with a long friends-only chat, at Descendants Brewery in Kitchener, then I turned the mic’s on. Enjoy! // Featuring music by the guest, as well as Good Lovelies, Jamie Warren & Lusterfield. 057 - Taylynn
TayLynn, I met on instagram, while recording the previous episode with Milana and Mike. She’s a singer/songwriter from just outside of Kitchener-Waterloo who’s also attended the same open-mics, just on days I didn’t make it… sad I am now that i’ve heard her superb music! Her new debut EP “They Know” absolutely floored me. So then this happened. We had an in-depth chat about the artist she’s become and the artist she wants to be, creative process and more. Breathtaking voice. Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by the guest, as well as music by Sue Passmore. 056 - Milana Boss & Mike Sharp
Milana Boss & Mike Sharp are two exquisite singer/songwriters, both solo and collaboratively, in this case or moment in time, collaborative. I met them at local open mics, Waterloo’s Patent Social, and Kitchener’s Rhapsody Barrell Bar, and was instantly floors by their sophisticated songwriting and refined vocal delivery. We met up at Descendants Brewery in Kitchener to chat about being indie musicians, and also, whatever other Pog-sized nuggets would fall out of our heads. Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by the guests. For extended notes, links, photos and more, visit: https://todddonaldshow.blogspot.com/2019/12/056-milana-boss-mike-sharp.html

055 - Jesse Parent (Prequel)
Jesse Parent again! You’ve now heard part 2 of us (in episode 020), and part 3 (in episode 054)… so here’s the episode from the vault, part 1, from February 2018 on Todd’s Café. Jesse came by, we shot the shit, he played a couple tunes, and it was awesome. If you didn’t already know, Jesse is a superb song-craftsman and performer, constantly getting better and consistantly working. Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by the guest. 054 - Jesse Parent (Returns)
Jesse Parent, whom you may’ve heard earlier this year (in episode 020), returns, a third time actually… that was his 2nd appearance, his 1st was on my last podcast Todd’s Café (you’ll get that re-presented soon on TDS). Jesse met up with me at Descendants Brewery to do some more chatting, and split the atom where we hadn’t before… maybe we went off and all over the rails this time, I’m not sure, but it was a lot of fun! We may have branched off into movies and ranty rants. Jesse just released a new album “Somedays, Tomorrows and Best Laid Plans” which is a mix of studio & live! Enjoy! // Featuring music by the guest, as well as Calliope’s Radio & New York’s Kristina Stapelfeld. 053 - Robin + Elaine
Robin Lindner & Elaine Decleir are the #bossbabes behind now-Kitchener/Waterloo-based company and branding firm ‘Robin + Elaine’, they are also the force behind ‘KW Famous’ which spotlights some of the region’s famous and timeless pinpoints. I wanted to chat with them about what they do, as well as try and break through the we-met-online social barrier, and clown around. Recorded at Workhaus. Enjoy! // Featuring music by Mike Todd, as well as past guests Paige Warner, A New Ground & Jerelle. 052 - Jessie T (vault stuff)
After a brief re-introduction to that which I call the “vault”, I re-introduce you to my past guest, KW singer/songwriter Jessie T (whom is scheduled to make a new appearance on TDS). She stopped by the apartment back in February 2018 to make an appearance on my past podcast Todd’s Café and perform a couple of tunes. We talk about her songwriting and where she’s been to-date! // Featuring live performances by the guest. 051 - Carlotta Trenholm
Carlotta Trenholm is a shiatsu therapist and live local music fan, that I met on the street. Literally. We met just outside of Kitchener’s downtown Market, and co-ordinated this via our mutual friend and past guest Cuneyt. This chat was recorded at Descendants Brewery, and was full of laughter and philosophy, particularly the school of thought behind her practice. What is Shiatsu, exactly? This is your chance to have a fun time learning about it. Enjoy! // Featuring by Matt York, Vienna D’Amato Hall, Mo Pair, as well as a brand new live-off-the-floor acoustic set by upcoming guest Jessie T, recorded exclusively for this episode!!! 050 - Tessa
Tessa goes back almost to the beginning with me, I almost feel like we’re related.. so as out-of-touch as we are these days, we can easily drift back into the comfort zone conversationally, without any effort. In the time we’ve known each other alone, Tessa’s musical gift has been poured into her own singer/songwriter stuff, but bands Red Balloon, The Short Films, other types of creative projects, she’s been a local advocate, run for City Council, appears in the local tv show project Kitchener Sync, and more recently has birthed an initiative/event called Waterloo Region Crossing, which is a series of endurance events that raise awareness about pressing local issues… she almost, never, stops, which is her life-long endurance run, to live and give. Fuck. Enjoy! // Featuring a live performance by the guest, as well as music by Glenna Garramone, The Good Lovelies, Mike Erb Trio, as well as out-of-towners, Mansionair. 049 - Sam Nabi
Sam Nabi is a gentleman I met over 10 years ago, when he was in Waterloo University, and my friend/co-hort Carrie Humphries was booking artists to perform in a no-longer-existant room in Waterloo’s Mongolian Grill. We meet again randomly at the open-mics at Rhapsody in Kitchener. It’s been great being back in touch with Sam in general, and our long-lost friend conversation transitioned smoothly from the past to the present to the future, with a mix of the evolution of how indie artists put out music, to Sam’s transition from singer/songwriter to hip-hop artist. Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by the guest, as well as music by past guests Jesse Parent & Twas Now. 048 - Evan Corneil
Evan Corneil is a singer/songwriter, fairly new to the Waterloo region, who I’ve met and been seeing perform regularly at the Rhapsody Barrell Bar open-mic night. Not only is he a swell young creative lad, but he’s a sweet down to earth lad that’s super fun to talk to. He stopped by and we had a ball with the conversation, I hope you like it as well? Plus, Evan was of course gangster enough to perform some live stuff, so, yeah! Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by the guest, as well as music by Amy Rola and California’s Jonah Ray. 047 - Brittany Pyatt
Brittany Pyatt is a stand-up comedian, that unlike allot of my more recent guests, I actually met in-person, at a local bar/music venue. Given that I don’t know allot of people in the stand-up genre, it was nice to just have a one-on-one chat with someone, who is also a big advocate of local music. It helps that we know allot of the same peeps and local bands. This chat ended up being a deeper and darker conversation than I was expecting, but let me tell you, it wasn’t unwelcome! This ‘humanity’ thing, that’s what i’m ALL about. Enjoy! // Featuring music by CityWide Panic, Jessie T, Mike Todd, Kristina Stapelfeld & Carly and Mark. 046 - Beware of HopeFest
Jerelle & Sofia I heard about through the grapevine, but was instantly enamoured by what their social media presence informed me of, particularly the music and energy of the artist/performers. I had the chance to meet-up with them for coffee in Burlington just to talk about music and the interview prospect, and couldn’t have had a better time. I was anxious to see them again and talk about pretty much anything, but of course there’s a focus here on their art and what they’re planning on doing with it. // Kyle Wappler was a gentleman I first discovered as a fan of Ape Audio, they had the so-called “Scene Daddy” on their show already, and I was hoping to use my show as another olive branch of promotion for the upcoming HopeFest 2019, STILL hoping i’ll get him back on for a bigger feature, but he was nice enough to stop by, promote the event, and demonstrate why he is in fact, the Scene Daddy! Enjoy! // Featuring music by guest Jerelle, as well as California’s Kali Kazoo & Jonah Ray. 045 - Sarah Lexia
Sarah Lexia, the “Aussie in Sarnia”, what an exploration to go through in that alone. I fucking love Australian shit, so I’m glad I had the chance to have coffee in Sarnia with this legend in her own time, and talk about all things being a ‘public figure’ and try to break down what exactly is involved in that, what is behind that… and of course we had a ball talking nonsense and pop-culture. She’s absolutely fabulous! Enjoy! // Featuring music by Harriet Nauer, Stephen Trothen, Sue Passmore, The Lofi-Mind and YouTuber Bailey Pelkman, as well as past guest Vienna D’Amato Hall. 044 - Luke Cyrus Hunter
Luke Cyrus Hunter was a guest on my first podcast ‘The iTodd Lounge’ in 2008, as the singer/keyboardist in the band Stereola with Wayne Bond and Jay Walsh. Now sporting some singles, following up his CD of songs that were in development since his last appearance, Luke returns to the basement. We had a GREAT chat about playing music in Kitchener/Waterloo and elsewhere, where his life has taken him through the years, making music videos, songwriting and more! 043 - Samantha Mirandola
Samantha Mirandola is a young and super vivacious young and talented actor and recently an author from Waterloo, Ontario. Sporting her new book ‘Dream-Catalyst’, Samantha agreed to be on the podcast and chat about theatre, improv, writing, and being a kooky creative & intellectual person. This is also the first chat at my parents’ house which I’ll be living at for the rest of the season year. Enjoy! 042 - Katie
Katie, I really don’t want to write this episode blurb. What I will tell people though is that you’re my partner, my biggest supporter, and you’ve been cool with me having all of 70-80 some-odd guests into our apartment for podcast sessions. Now, with a lengthy background of coaching young athletes, you’re graduating from Teacher’s college at Laurier and moving to Gjoa Haven, Nunavut to work full-time. 041 - This Is Pristine
This Is Pristine is made up of vocalist Kelly Abbass and guitarist Steph Dilts. They’ve been around as far back as I’ve been on the air, it’s just unfair that I aged and they didn’t, not even a day. Local to the Waterloo region, they’ve played a few gigs, recorded a few tracks, but are on the show to chat about all things music, reminisce and ask for support with their kickstarter, because they more than deserve to be heard on a recording of their original music. There’s some live performances on here to sweeten the deal! Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by this episode’s guest. 040 - Kelly Abbass (vault stuff)
Kelly Abbass is almost the first person I ever interviewed, and one of my first podcast guests ever even! We met on MySpace if you’d believe that was the Instagram of it’s day, then in person at CJIQ in Kitchener on Night Sessions with Renegade X. Kelly was/is a model, actor and musician, and has always been a big supporter of my music, shows, anything I do. It’s rooted in friendship for sure, and I can’t thank her enough! With her band’s upcoming new appearance on ths show, I wanted to share this vintage audio, extracted from her appearance on my old video podcast from 2008. Enjoy! 039 - William Chernoff
William Chernoff is an outstanding musician/composer, both a member and leader of several musical projects, the most current of which includes his own compositions, and in the band Early Spirit. William was not only sport enough to let me use a live performance of his song “Makie Elkino” as the theme music to this podcast!, but he took an interest in listening to it, and genuinely! It was my pleasure to chat with him in B.C. via Skype, about all things William Chernoff, his journeys as a musician, discovering music, recording albums, developing his skills on bass, and more. 038 - Elaine Kapogines
Elaine Kapogines is the creator of The Holistic Parent magazine and community, in the Waterloo Region. She’s a non-stop force of media, creation and learning; figuring out more and more ways to engage her audience. Once again instead of learning TOO much about how to better what I do, I chose to ask Elaine about growing up, her personal life, and crack-wise. By the way, much like Sandra Dynka (episode 036) is another amazing person, I met on instagram via the amazing Natasha McKenty (episode 008) and the mutual admiration society, I can’t even tell ya how much it warms the heart. 037 - Anna Beard
Anna Beard is a shy yet standout personality in my opinion, with a love not unlike myself of coffee and conversation. She lead a tour around town to spotlight downtown Kitchener’s locally-owned coffee shops café’s and ethical discussion, or as she put it “socialist views”. I wanted to know what madethis local public figure tick, on the personal tip; maybe she has lots to say on art, culture and dating, and could perhaps let this ol’ lug in on what’s going on in the modern scene. Enjoy. For extended notes, links, photos and more, visit: https://todddonaldshow.blogspot.com/2019/07/episode-34-anna-beard.html

036 - Sandra Dynka
Sandra Dynka is someone I met on instagram, via Natasha McKenty, and whom on their own as a health advocate, tennis pro and “champion of the underdog”, full of personality human, is enough to admire. It was only an after-discovery that being KW Miss Oktoberfest (2018) would be a topic of discussion. We not only discussed that, but did a full heartwarming psychological of this wonderful person; to take a look back - here - and forward, at the great person she’ll become. Enjoy! 035 - Ape Audio
Ape Audio is a group of funny KW 20-something guys, showcasing the music scene in the way I only wished I could, with camaraderie, modern technology and an actual HQ! They’re providing you much better quality indie entertainment in two ways, through their HILARIOUS audio-only podcast on iTunes, Spotify etc., but also in video on YouTube, including live-streams and event coverage. I just wanted one opportunity to see if I could make them laugh, while on my show, I did it, and now I must retire. I fucking love these dudes. Enjoy! 034 - Amanda Muse
Amanda Muse is someone whom it’s safe to say I got a little sycophantic over… there’s allot of pressure in being a good host, that I wasn’t ready to feel, but when someone has well over 60k subscribers on YouTube and is basically the original real-life Truman Show star, this Torontonian is gonna, well, intimidate me! As far as approaching me though, she couldn’t have been more kind and giving and thoughtful… she took the time to chat over Skype, sent me her mic-recorded end of the convo, and we drank coffee, chatted and found out we were born the same year… although I’m still a child. A genuine pioneer in internet-content making, the amazing, Amanda Muse. Enjoy! 033 - Cuneyt Yetkiner (vault stuff)
Cuneyt Yetkiner’s most recent appearance on the show (previously on The Todd Donald Show…) was allot more loose but engaging chat between us, but if you’d like to get to know him more in interview style talking about the intricacies of performing locally in various scenarios, and paired with a live performance, definitely listen to THIS gem, recorded in 2016, for The iTodd Lounge. 032 - Cuneyt Yetkiner
What can I say about Cuneyt Yetkiner? I could say he’s an exceptional guitar player, composer, performer, friend and judge on The Shot… but would that be saying enough about the living Waterloo-Region legend? Oh, you think it would? ehhhhhhhhh-I don’t think so! Anyway, he’s one third of Turk & The Hobbits, if you’re ever at Waterloo’s The Duke on a Monday, and a good sport, give it up! Enjoy! 031 - Rashmi Sanjay
Rashmi Sanjay is host of ‘In Conversation with Rashmi’ on CKMS, and yet another wonderful soul I managed to meet because of past guest Natasha McKenty. She has an amazing and compelling story, it’s amazing that she’s still walkin’ and boy is she rockin’! She came over to have some coffee and chat about how and why she does what she does, both in life and with her show. I was just thrilled to meet and chat with this person in general. Enjoy! 030 - Mathilde
Mathilde is a vocal & theatre trained singer/songwriter, who’s soon to be a Toronto native. I can’t however, celebrate having this guest on without reminiscing about the fact that Sara and I know each other from years ago, singing karaoke at Anchor in Listowel. So, I know from experience actually HEARING this young woman sing, that she can really belt out a song, and without breaking a sweat. We looked back on those days a bit and the meat/hearty veg. of the chat is about her upcoming original music, which forecasts greatness. Enjoy! 029 - Mary-Catherine Pazzano
Mary-Catherine Pazzano returns! to make her first official appearance on The Todd Donald Show, and with it, I gathered some of her most bodacious gripe posts. This time, I’ve been listening to her superb album ‘You’re Gonna Hear From Me’ (which you should definately own, even just to say you have it). I start off by explaining what happened last time and apologizing, which was compounded in hilarity because she didn’t care and I was over-apologizing. We talked more about music, Kitchener-Waterloo, and had a ball. Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by this episode’s guest. 028 - Mary-Catherine Pazzano (vault stuff)
Mary-Catherine Pazzano is about to make her return on the podcast, but I’d like to get this jazz vocalist, artist and teacher, on the show in advance, via her vault episode (chat & live performance). There’s a funny story about how we finally met in person, on her arrival this day, but wait for the next episode. Mary has an EXQUISITE control of, and skill, with her voice. Believe it or not, she’s self-described as not proficient on the piano… I dissagree. The life and work of a musician, teacher, and an artist in a not-so-modern genre. Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by this episode’s guest. For extended notes, links, photos and more, visit: https://todddonaldshow.blogspot.com/2019/05/vault-14-mary-catherine-pazzano.html

027 - Kate Schlitt
Kate Schlitt and Wendy Huenul were recently featured in the Laurier magazine The Community Edition, and are hosts of the region’s newest (and if I may say, hottest) feminist podcast. Not only is their podcast fantastic, but I found them interesting to listen to as people. Certainly I look at myself and think, probably not a sight you’d want to be friends with, but with the gravity I felt towards their personalities, I HAD to see if we could be come friends for at least 2 hours, and that’s what we did! I think! Part 2 of 2. Enjoy! For extended notes, links, photos and more, visit: https://todddonaldshow.blogspot.com/2019/05/episode-26-kate-schlitt.html

026 - Alex Kinsella & Beisan Zubi (vault stuff)
Why Waterloo podcast hosts Alex Kinsella and Beisan Zubi are two people I never quite apologized to properly. I had them on my prior podcast Todd’s Café to shoot the breeze, a fan of their ‘about-town’ Kitchener/Waterloo culture and events podcast.. I just wanted to get them to talk about life and the world’s nuances and see what happens. On the day for some reason, I was a lackluster host and making an ass of myself.. as busy as they are they still enthusiastically agreed to be on and did the show... haven’t heard from them since. So I’m inclined to believe it was my doing, BUT I enjoyed hearing them talk, allot. I Also happened recently to listen to this again, here it is for you. Enjoy! 025 - Deanna Wells
Deanna Wells is frontwoman of Hamilton area-based band Ophelia Syndrome, and a longtime friend of mine, since we were in the music program at Mohawk College. There’s a three-part chat in which we talk about going to Mohawk, the new EP that Ophelia Syndrome is releasing and what’s going into that, followed by a chat about embarassing moments, in the vein of the last few episodes. 023 - Matt Lees
Matt Lees is a singer/songwriter and podcaster (sound familiar?) whom I met at a house party 16 years ago. Clearly we were fast friends because of our shared love of pop culture and creative outlets and we were fans of each other creatively and as people, enough to be heavily involved in each others’ musical goings-on. The side effect of our being so similar and tightly wound definitely pulled us away from each other, but time + distance + evolution = a nice chat between two old friends that love each other. Hosting the Legend In My Spare Time podcast at he and his wife Rachel’s home in Wales, UK; Matt’s launched a second podcast where he interviews artists & performers about their creativity. Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by this episode’s guest. For extended notes, links, photos and more, visit: https://todddonaldshow.blogspot.com/2019/04/episode-23-matt-lees.html

022 - Matt White
Matt White and partner Carin Lowerison are the heads of Kitchener/Waterloo’s socially-aware theatre company Green Light Arts. Just based on seeing what they do online alone, I was compelled to reach out to them to see if Matt would come by to tell me his story, talk about theatre, and tell me more about what Green Light is, and is up to! From acting to writing to directing, Matt’s trained and worked in every aspect of the theatre. Lots to get excited about here. Enjoy! 021 - Fearless Heart Yoga
Fearless Heart Yoga practitioners Carolynne and Lindsay agreed to meet up early at their studio in Waterloo, to have coffee and a chat with me about the body and the mind. We chatted about the studio, and in a way that was on-brand (as much as I have a distain for that term). I was in a funk that day though, I needed the chat we had, and I’m happy that it went the way it did. Enjoy! 020 - Jesse Parent
Jesse Parent is no stranger to being on a chat-show with me, nor is he a stranger to performing live and pressing records. He is super gifted, prolific and ready to start over… so to speak… what? I’ll let him explain what I tried to mean by that. On his way to recording his next album, live in front of an audience, Jesse found his resting place artistically, his truest voice, again, I’m trying to give exposition, but i’ll let KW’s singer/songwriter treasure, Jesse Parent explain. Paired with a few live and acoustic performances too! Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by this episode’s guest. 019 - There Was A Sale
There Was A Sale returns for season 2, much like season 1 each piece is paired thematically somehow with an adult beverage, but the pieces being reviewed, described and discussed this time aren’t Matt’s Criterion collection of movies, this time it’s Matt & Kayla’s books! New games, new regular features, new things to talk about - and they brought themselves back over to return to ‘this’ guy, to chat about making the show, what’s new, and what else! Enjoy! 018 - Hayley Kellett
Hayley Kellett is the improv incubator director at The Making-Box, based in Guelph and soon-to-be opening up a space in Kitchener. I’ve loved improv and comedy for a long time, so I immediately was excited to just sit down with a professional and experienced performer, and chat about it, possibly fall to the floor just to see if I could make them laugh. I took my gear to record on location in Guelph, at The Making-Box, and we had a delightful chat about all things Improv, about the studio, the classes they offer… and if I did a better job, they would have talked to me after. : S sorry.. 017 - Justin Godelie
Justin Godelie is husband to Shannon, from episode 001, and another co-host of the wacky, zany, tutti-fruity trio of podcast titans from Kitchener’s Pull The Plug podcast. I didn’t go to school with Justin though, so this was our first time meeting, and just like I thought we would, and hoped and dreamed we would, we got along famously! I don’t even remember what we talked about!!! It was podcasty as shit though, and funny, and fun. We definitely talked about podcasting. Anyway. Enjoy! 016 - Emily Schooley
Emily Schooley is a force to be reckoned with, and a polymath to boot. I met her when Emily and Erika Reesor were on Todd’s Café last year, sporting their multi-sized play, ‘Heatwave’. Based on that experience I was just too delighted to have coffee and chat with them again. So I started sending out emails and Emily was kind enough to trek over from Toronto, to chat about writing, directing, acting, producing, culture, society and more, I was delighted! Enjoy! 015 - There Was A Sale (vault stuff)
There Was A Sale is a WR podcast, hosted by Kayla Haas and Matt Grant; two people I adore endlessly. Not that I consider this settling, but I happily settle for the odd hangout, and listening to them chat about Matt’s collections of movies or books. This recording from last year, is of There Was A Sale’s first season, in which they pair an adult beverage thematically with a movie from the Criterion and discuss. I brought them over to discuss their show, and maybe enact their podcast with them. Stay tuned for their return episode next month! Enjoy! 014 - A New Ground
A New Ground i’ve been after for a while. They’re a dynamic duo, which is something I say as a double-entendre… Not only are they a couple, but they’re a band, get it? and their music is intricate, beautiful and dynamic, A F! We chatted about the band, the community, touring, teaching and a whole bunch of things I can’t remember if were part of the recording or not. I met them through our mutual friends at jams and other stages and felt super privileged to have this time to see them, in a calm, and have this chat session. They welcomed me to their teaching/recording studio/home in Kitchener, Frontier Music. Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by this episode’s guest. 013 - Among Legends
Among Legends is a hardworking and amazing, fast, showmanship-loaded pop/punk band from KW/Toronto, with roots everywhere, and chivalry for the human cause and positive messages for days. I had the fortune of hosting for a chat/performance, the Toronto-based lead vocalist and the local guitar player, and by the seat of my pants I got a good chat out, not my best, but they were GREAT guests… sometimes I try too hard. Alas the episode is capped by some live-off-the-floor, acoustic punk! Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by this episode’s guest. 012 - Rob Szabo
Rob Szabo, originally from KW and now based out of Toronto, has worn several hats. He fronted some amazing rock bands in the 1990s, like The Groove Daddies, Marigold and Plasticine. He pumped out more incredible rock/pop work and toured extensively in the 2000s as a solo artist… Now and through the 2010s, Rob has worked almost exclusively as a collaborative producer with other artists and bands, to the extent of some Juno nominated works. So, we tried to talk about ALL THAT, and more. He’s been one of my favourite artists and people since as long as i’ve been doing music. Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by this episode’s guest. Special thanks to Carrie Humphries for the recording of Rob live at CKMS, from “The Rock Show”; as well as permission to use it on this podcast!

011 - Mandippal
Mandippal, originally from Cambridge, now a longtime resident of Kitchener/Waterloo, has been a steady working singer/songwriter since as far back as I was. We shared the stage several times way back in the day, and this catch-up was a longtime coming! I remember some angst in my youth being directed at Mandippal for having such a golden voice and being so talented, so we start off with an apology for that very attitude, that he didn’t even know about! And we continued, into talking about growing up, and trying to write songs as adults. We finished off with Mandippal using that golden voice, to treat you with some live songs. Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by this episode’s guest.

010 - Hawkeyes
Hawkeyes, based out of the Waterloo Region, are kinda hard to describe. Their experimental, drony, instrument-only sound has been described as deep, ambient, psychedelic, metal, some might make reference to ‘doom’, and more, it’s quite atmospheric, and definitely loud. It’s pretty amazing, I’ll leave it to all 6 members (in three parts, 2 members each: Pat & Chris / Stacey & Rob / Ryan & Ron) to talk about the band and where they’re going. I joined them on an overcast Sunday afternoon in their jam hall to discuss! Enjoy!

009 - Twas Now
Twas Now, is a New Hamburg-based duo, with a superbly refined blend of two heavenly voices. Diana and Mike Erb are so perfectly paired, they should almost be a couple and get married. If you didn’t already know, they are also a happily married couple, who’ve known each other since childhood, but i’ll let them explain. Rooted in roots, country and folk, the music of Twas Now transcends the artform of songwriting, harmony and each of their respective genres and influencers. I’m delighted to have officially met Diana and to have gotten to see my old friend Mike, and extra delighted to have this time with them. Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by this episode’s guests.

008 - Natasha McKenty
Natasha McKenty is host of Rogers Waterloo Region’s In Studio with Natasha McKenty. We found each other online, but have become friends in real life. We both came from different schools of broadcasting - meant both metaphorically and literally, but when we meet and discuss the crafting of content, conversations, it can go for miles and miles. I’m delighted to know this person, admire her a great deal, and what you’ll hear is us meeting, and only our first conversation. Enjoy!

007 - Sylvia Pond & Dan Grace (vault stuff)
Sylvia Pond and Dan Grace are two lovely people I had the fortune of meeting at what Kitchener’s bar/venue Rhapsody’s open-mic, at the “Table Of Love”. It’s no wonder that I wanted to put their two chats together here, from the vault of my prior podcast “Todd’s Café”, both recorded earlier this year. Sylvia is a local photographer, in business for herself, and personality for days! Dan Grace, also a bright presence in the room, is a musician with a heartwarming sound and an endless love of the music we 90s kids grew up with. Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by this episode’s guest.

006 - Vienna D'Amato Hall
Vienna D’Amato Hall is an icon to me, a singer/songwriter and more - whom I feel, both takes their art seriously and truly showcases in a beautiful way, the more interesting aspects of humanity. I feel blessed that she’s returned to chat with this joker (pointing at myself) and for this podcast now. Please enjoy her hauntingly good performances after our chat, and as a bonus I tagged the iTodd Lounge episode with her chat + performances from our 2016 get-together. 005 - AntiSocial Surf Club
AntiSocial Surf Club members Matt and Bennett stopped by to tell me more about their Waterloo pop/punk smash hit band.. From the same early 20s as recent guest Paige Warner, it’s dawning on me that there’s an exhilaration to getting along with, relating and having a good chat with those on the other side of that age gap, and they’re f*cking hilarious. This band pumps out catchy mall-punk anthems like it ain’t no thang, and with the sincere and pure gusto of my contemporary garage bands. Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by this episode’s guests.

004 - Vacuity & The Human Statues (vault stuff)
I decided a few episodes in, that I wanted to give you a glimpse into the energy of 2008, and how shitty I was at this when I started podcasting… On the other hand, I also wanted to introduce you to two of my favourite bands AND memories. Vacuity was an alternative band from Kitchener, each of it’s mate’s a wonderful and funny person. Another extremely talented and creative band, was B.C./Toronto, Ontario duo, called The Human Statues. Again, these were both recorded in 2008, for my then podcast, The iTodd Lounge. 003 - Paige Warner
Paige Warner is going into stadiums, I garuntee it friends. Musically diverse, with an of R&B and soul swagger, KW’s Paige Warner can be heard twice on this episode, chatting with me about her journey into writing original songs, playing live gigs and dealing with modern culture as it stands. The first time you’ll hear, first, actually, from her May 2018 appearance on my last podcast ‘Todd’s Café’. The second time is her return, onto this podcast, more recently. 002 - Ophelia Syndrome (vault stuff)
Ophelia Syndrome are not only Hamilton-Region-based and an amazing and diverse rock/pop band musically, but they’ve been a very special part of my life, going way back. I’m happy to present three times we’ve gotten together to chat about music, the past-present-future of their musical goings-on, and for them to perform their amazing piano/cello/vocal showstoppers. Just, wonderful peeps! Part 1 is our iTodd Lounge (my former podcast) session from 2016. Part 2 is our iTodd Lounge session from 2008. Finally, Part 3 is a one-off song recording session in 2017 of 2 more songs live-off-the-floor! Enjoy! // Featuring live performances by this episode’s guests.

001 - Shannon Godelie
Shannon Godelie is 1 third of the Canadian podcast Pull The Plug, which much like my media, transitioned from radio broadcasting, at CJIQ. Her punk-rock Podcast outfit, made up of Shannon, her husband Justin Godelie and Justin Briner, have paved the way for un-censored chat and indie music showcasing consistently over the past decade and it’s payed off. It’s still going strong, and I think there would be no better way to launch this iteration of my own podcast, than to have a fun chat with this guru! Enjoy! // Featuring music by Sarah Bernardo.
