To Know Him More

16 minutes. That’s all it takes.

When we know the good Shepherd we will trust where he leads us. “That which is best for us has already been provided, and we need only follow His good hand.“

I will celebrate the right and the good and the beautiful in my children, simply because is it it is right and good and beautiful, and I must remember to allow grace-filled correction to hold hands with acknowledged praise in the little things, just as in the great achievements.

Only when we are convinced of God’s complete authority will we admit He has the right to do with us as He wills. And only when we are convinced that He is perfectly good, totally loving, absolutely wise, and completely powerful will we trust that His right to do all things is never separated from His character to do all things in perfect goodness, love, wisdom, and power, resulting in perfect justice.

🌿As we weep, let us worship.
🌿No woman but one who trust the Lord can praise Him amidst her pain.
🌿Oh that we would see our pain as a platform for the glory of God!
🌿Jesus often chooses to bless us with pain so that others may see us reflect Him in our grief.

Training our children in righteousness demands an understanding of God’s truth, and grace as we ourselves are disciplined towards a life of holiness.

“Our experiences do not determine what we know to be true.” We typically use our senses to determine if our food is good to eat. Conversely, we must train our senses and experiences to bend to the truth of God. We only know what is true and good and real because we know the Author of truth and goodness and reality.

“I am not called to be put together. I am called to be held together in Christ.“ In the midst of being quarantined with a mild case of Covid, when I am too busy to be sick, I have found a deeper understanding in coming to Jesus, when I am laboring and heavy laden, and learning to rest in Him.

When our reactionary thankfulness to comfortable circumstances grow deeper, to become a consistent gratitude hinged on the goodness of God. Rather than an on-again-off-again attitude of gratitude, it must become a habit; a HABITUDE of gratitude. “I wanted to sincerely thank Jesus for not only using hard things in my life to His glory, but for ordaining hard things in my life to His glory.“

We must be uncompromising in our pursuit of truth, which is found only in the Bible – the revelation of the Author of Truth. God’s truth is as eternal as He is, and everything we experience or understand must be filtered through what God says is true.

Dump runs and thrift store donations can make for a happier household. Imagine how much happier our hearts will be, when Jesus purges everything out of our heart that does not reflect Him well!

The Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon allows our brain to notice things that we might otherwise miss. Whether we notice yellow cars, or the truth of Christ, whatever aspect we focus on will train the rest of what gets filtered into our mind.

Sharing the gospel is hard, but you don’t need to be brave to do the right thing. When it comes to evangelism, all you need is an understanding of the value of the gospel, and have a deep-set love for those who need to know Jesus.

The 10 Commandments and the Mosaic covenant gives us a framework of understanding what is good and evil, and right and wrong. It allows us to see the holiness of God, His definition of love, and how He welcomes us into a deeper understanding of how we must live in His presence.
