Extraction, Logan Lucky, Psychokinesis Movie Reviews
Heroes Garage is a movie review podcast. Heroes Garage: Extraction, Logan Lucky, Psychokinesis In case you missed it: Logan Lucky is first and foremost a heist movie. The stars make the, at first glance, bare-bones story come alive In the end the enjoyment lies in seeing these wonderful actors do their thing and make characters feel alive, relatable, and hilarious Psychokinesis is a drama wrapped in a supernatural film. A down-on-his luck absentee-father reunites with his business owning and activist daughter to fight against organized crime who want her property. Extraction is a ransom movie. Hemsworth plays an ex-military for hire character who extracts the son of a rich Indian business man. This is a well-constructed film, with nice visuals, and just enough twists in the story to avoid feeling like a trope.

The Expanse binge-athon continues with “A Shot In The Dark,” the seventh episode of Season 4. Holden and the Ilus encampment struggled to gain their footing in a new environment – the metal mountain formation. Meanwhile, a Noah’s ark-esque flood raged outside. Naomi and Alex fought tooth and nail to keep the Barbapiccola afloat after the power outage. Avasarala was presented with a tricky situation, and made a not-so-popular decision. Q: What storylines are keeping your interest? Q: Fractures continue as groups fight over scarce resources. Is the tension earned? They science the situation and come up with a plan. Q: Meanwhile, Okoye identifies a virus that will cause everyone to go blind if they cannot find a cure. Q: While this is happening, Avasarla must make a hard decision regarding the Sojourner - she orders marines to enter a ship, the Pizzouza, to get Marco Inaros. Surprises ensue. Ep 8 “The one eyed man” Holden and Okoye raced against time (and blindness) to find a cure for the infection ailing Belters and Inners alike. Avasarala faced staunch criticism for her failed military mission to capture Marco Inaros. Drummer and Ashford contemplated their futures within the OPA. Lots of intense thinking and doing. Just how I like my thought-provoking sci-fi. Avasarla’s military advisory resigns due to her reckless decision to board the P Next, Fred Johnson shows up and gets punched by Drummer Back on Mars, Draper sits with the group of criminals and is skeptical about the new job that is large on money but low on details Holden is left caring for everyone as the only one who still has eyesite - Okoye figures out why and works on an antidote. Meanwhile, Ashord tries to convince Drummer to join him in locating Marco and killing him While this is happening, Avasarla conducts a ceremony for the marines who died on the attack on the P. She is hit by a rush of empathy, shares her heart, winning her opponent over. Later, her husband calls her out on being two faced and using their son’s death for political gain Draper learns that her boyfriend accepted a job on Europa - faces a dilemma, stay or leave with him and give up on her dream to save Mars. Meanwhile, the camp below is in lockdown and Holden is struggling with two sides that refuse to back down in his attempts to protect both from the protomolecule. Avasarala continues in her campaign, participating in a head to head debate with her political rival. Q: Are the narratives the increase the tension on Ilus earned? Q: Teams fracture as members pursue differing goals. One thing remains constant, The Belters dig in to remain in control of Ilus. Q: Avasarla engages in a Political debate/ as her election bid continues: Does this interest you? The Expanse Season 4 Ep. 1 Review
Heroes Garage is a weekly podcast that reviews super-hero, fantasy, and science fiction movies and shows.  New Terra, New Problems What is Terra? First impressions: the visual effects have been given a significant upgrade. Aftermath of the Earth/Mars war; political battle supercede space battles? Dawn of a new era, what does this mean? We have to work together for the common good. Habitable systems, the things that built them has been wiped out. The Barbapiccola, The Belter’s ship, enters the ring gate unauthorized.  The Belters have labeled the unidentified planet “Ilus” and are mining lithium. Avasarla gives Holden the task to go to Ilus, capture the contamination (prototype molecule), and get out. Scientific ship, The Edward Israel, explodes on landing. Murtry is left sifting through the wreckage for survivors. At the end of the episode are back indigenius life, flocks of “metal” like objects seemingly attack the people on Ilus. Directors/Writers: Laura Marse Breck Eisner Actors: Holden (Steven Strait) Alex (Cas Anvar) Bobbie (Frankie Adams) Naomi (Dominique Tipper) Drummer (Cara Gee) Dr. Elvie Okoye (Lyndie Greenwood) Adolphus Murtry (Burn Gorman) Avasarla (Shohreh Agdashloo) Amos (Wes Chatam) Credits: Golden Globe winners Quick Take on a forgettable movie and a good movie them music.

Mandalorian Ep. 7, 8, and Star Wars Rise of Skywalker Movie Review
Heroes Garage is a weekly podcast that reviews fantasy, science fiction, horror, and super hero shows and movies. These are our opinions about what connected with us, what we found entertaining. We will provide technical observations The Reckoning Story summary: Mando and Baby Yoda meet up with Cara Dune, the warrior from the Ewok episode, and meets with the leader of The Guild, Greef Karga. He informs them of his original intent to betray them, and that he’s changed his mind and wants to help. They meet with The Client and the gravity of the situation - due to the bounty on Baby Yoda. The episode culminates in a confrontation with Moff Gideon played by Giancarlo Esposito - former ISB agent. Redemption story summary  (Ep 8) IG-11, Taiki Waititi (Thor Ragnarok famed director), rescues Baby Yoda from the imperials. Moff tightens his grip and things feel really grim. IG-11 enters the fray, taking down countless imperials. Mando is seriously injured, Baby Yoda uses the force, IG-11 saves Mando. They find the rest of the Mandalorians - dead - except for their leader. Informs them of the ancient sect, The Jedi, Baby Yoda. They are instructed to reunite Baby Yoda with his own kind, to save it. Gets an honor, clan of 2, and a jet pack. IG-11 sacrifices itself in an emotionally charged scene. The tension in a siege -  the heroes are trapped Nurse-droid is a stud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Moff Gideon doesn’t play around Cara Dune is a beast! We learn the backstory of Mando with more flashbacks (spoilers) he is saved by the Mandalorian’s when his parents and planet are attacked. I was a foundling and raised as one of their own. Moff Gideon was an ISB agent during the purge. Mandalorian Ep 5 Review: Interesting Hanger Bay Lady
Heroes Garage is a weekly podcast that review science fiction, fantasy, super hero, and horror TV shows and movies.  Story: As predicted, Mando and Baby Yoda are chased by a bounty hunter in a spaceship. They destroy their pursuer but their ship requires repairs. They land on Luke’s home planet and at Mos Eisley SpacePort - iconic. The interesting and strange hanger-bay lady (Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto)  appears providing comedic relief. Mando takes a job to make money to repair his ship. He meets a rookie Mandalorian (Jake Cannavale as Toro Calican) and helps them track down a dangerous bounty hunter (Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand) to obtain the reward. After obtaining her, the rookie betrays Mando. Mando, of course, easily defeats him. However, a shadowy figure is seen over the (dead? unconscious?) body of the dangerous bounty hunter at the end of the episode setting yet more intrigue. New Characters: Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto - the hanger bey worker. Quirky and funny. Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand - the dangerous bounty hunter. Jake Cannavale as Toro Calican - the greasy, loser rookie Mandalorian. Entertainment value/visual effects: The visual of entering the iconic spaceport on Tatooine is cool. Not many visual highlights, otherwise. Predictions sure to be right (because the story is unoriginal): Mandalorian is picked up for another series… What does this mean? 31:34 Wonder Woman 1984, Ghostbuster, and  Black Widow Trailers Streaming Wars Discussion: Are we missing the boat in the streaming wars discussion? Is this a zero-sum, winner takes all battle or something more complex? With multiple platforms Disney Plus, HBO max, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV - what is the measurement of success, profitability? How will most people decide between products assuming that the average American can only afford so many streaming services. Is the content good enough Do the shows reflect the people and values that represent me/my culture and beliefs Will the fringes suffer more, gain more, etc.

Where are the Ewok's?
Heroes Garage is a weekly podcast where we review science fiction, fantasy, super hero, and horror T.V. shows and movies.  (Spoilers) Story summary: The Madalorian and Baby Yoda land on a wilderness planet. While mingling with the people meet a bounty hunter, Cara Dune, who’s laid claim to the planet. However, a group of people, native to the planet, solicit their assistance to fight against an invader group who is being supported by the imperials.  Mando meets their leader, Omera, who asks him to take off his helmet, which he promptly refuses. Cara and Mando train the natives and develop a plan to stop the AT-AT, which is terrorizing their village. Cara and Mando succeed but Mando has to leave the planet due to a tracking device drawing more bounty hunters toward Baby Yoda. 9:26 natives Characters: Mando and Baby Yoda are still prominently featured. Two new characters star: Gina Carano as Cara Dune (the bounty hunter warrior) and Julia Jones as Omera (the undeclared leader of the natives seeking assistance). Entertainment Value: The introduction of a new warrior The continuation of the “bounty hunter on the run with a hot payload in the form of cute Baby Yoda” Omera almost gets Mando’s helmet off 23:08 false start Visuals: Middling This felt like a SciFi take on the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi. Mandalorian Episode 3 Review
This is a weekly podcast where we review science fiction, fantasy, super-hero, and horror T.V. shows and moves @heroesgarage on twitter The story The Mandalorian turns Baby Yoda over to a group of Imperialists; He has a change of plans after getting his armor reconstructed with the bounty he obtained when he captured Baby Yoda. He obtains Baby Yoda and is confronted by the guild’s leader and his followers. The bounty hunters come to the rescue. Notable actors discussion: Werner Herzog Nick Nolte Carl Weathers Visuals The highlights in this episode include the bounty hunters descending from the skies to help Mandelorian. Others” Entertainment Value: Action, visuals, building of the Star Wars lore through the story Themes and plot points: The code of the Mandalorian: “This is the way”: Don’t take off your helmet, protect the group Setting up the deconstruction of the code: The group defends him, will he defy or defend the code? What would make him do that? You know that it’s going to happen. And, the code of The Guild: Don’t ask questions, get the job done and move on Why did Mando break the code: Baby Yoda appeals to Mandelorian’s compassionate side? Why did the Mandalorian break the code, only one at a time?

un·cer·e·mo·ni·ous·ly 100
Heroes Garage Episode 100 Tom and Eric talk Star Wars, Batman, and Rick & Morty Have you subscribed to Disney+? Watched Madalorian? HBONow or watched Watchman? Star Wars Trailer talk 4:56 Are we more excited, less excited? Has any of our perceptions of the movie changed with the new trailer?’ They totally ditched Rey’s dark side portrayal and this trailer was her “Hero” trailer essentially. - feels like a fractured thread that will lead fans feeling unsatisfied/unless the movie is great then we won’t care. There are so many of the old Imperial class star destroyers instead of the First Order Resurgent class. B-wings, but also this battle takes place in the present time. Or Poe Dameron is riding horse aliens with BB8 in the past. Emperor Palpatine is in a walker like chair. I think they are just going to try and make the last 2 movies the Emperor's grand plan. It has an epic scale. Truly the END of the war will be the movie. ESPN and Disney hyping it up as a MNF sneak peek was funnier than anything in the trailer. Batman casting news Jeffery Wright is Comm. Gordon. I think an excellent pick Andy Serkis is going to be Alfred. He is a great actor, but IDK about the calm and witty Alfred. His role is much better suited to the character he played in Black Panther. WOW Marvel did it better again. Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman is fine. Not much to say I think she will do well with that character. Colin Farrell as The Penguin. I’m calling it now, Danny Devito did it better. Paul Dano as The Riddler. I think a good casting…. But Jim Carrey did it better. Quick take on Dark Phoenix - 34:50 BOOOOOOO-ring. Why did they make this film? Because they wanted to capitalize on the fame and stardom of Sophie Turner AKA Sansa Stark. I literally said, “BITCH you are in space! How are you not dead?” I honestly am not sure if I should hate Dr. X for what he did to Jean, or if I should be sympathetic. Movie made it split I think for several reasons, but Beasts attack on him when they were drinking after Mystiques death was stupid and pointless. Also, thank god Mystique is dead. Except what about continuity with the original Xmen trilogy? Best scene was the train car fight at the end. Aliens were incredibly boring and generic and so at least they got to die in creative ways as the Xmen showed of their powers. Rick and Morty new season ep 1 discussion 47:36 A little underwhelming. Idk, I have to watch it another 10 times, and how it fits into the rest of the show. Too happy and upbeat to be honest. I loved Rick’s unwavering hate and abuse of Morty because it was funny and  the crux of their relationship. If that changes to a more positive one between the two then I think the show is dead. Where is my Sezchuwan sauce??? I did love Rick’s arc as he was killed multiple times and came back to facist versions of himself. That part was hilarious.  And the return of Mr. Meeseeks! Still had plenty of funny moments and was the classic style of a smart, well-made sci-fi animated show. Re-review of Joker 55:10 Arthouse film with a AAA pedigree. Beat Deadpool as the most profitable R rated movie ever. Did it need to even be linked to the DC universe? Yes, if it wanted to be commercially successful. 21st century Taxi Driver. Joaquin Phoenix was great. Visuals were excellent. Music was interesting as it would carry the film for long periods of time. Movie was very slow until the end. Then it was awesome. Last act of the film was magnificent.

Season one of this series included some of the most beloved themes and character work in these Marvel Netflix shows: Intimate depictions of superheroes being not so super but staying true to their values. She is courageous in her confrontation of her nemesis, Purple Man, in Season one. Face off against her high-powered mother, in season two. I’m excited to see what this series has to offer in this final chapter.    32:47 Preview: NBA finals talk: Like I said, If the GSW win game 5 they win the series... 42:10 MIB International: The MIB (agents) confront a mole within the organization. And, V-For Vendetta, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen were both made into movies. Characters: Rorshack: Investigator, blatantly disobeys the Keen Act which outlawed superheroes.  Night Owl (Holis Mason): Uses owl-bases gadgets base off the Blue Beetle (DC)  Ozymandias (Adrian Veidt): Uses 100% of his brain; runs a corporation; retired as a superhero (anti-hero?) The Comedian (Edward Blake): Ruthless, nihilistic Silk Spectre (Sally Jupiter): Romantic partner to Dr. M; her mother was a member a costume wearer   Doctor Manhattan (Dr. Jon Osterman): Impacted by a radioactive blast.  “As Night Owl” (Dan Dreiberg) Dresses as Night Owl; flies the ship which is burned to the ground, accompanies Rorshack to confront Veidt.  What are the major themes of this book? Marvel Runaways Review and Stan Lee Tribute
Tom and Bill talk Runaways Tribute to Stan Lee 4:30-10:00 Runaways Season 1 review (Spoilers) 10:00-39:53 Preview Runaways Season 2 Notes: Main Rhenzy Feliz as Alex Wilder: A nerd who longs to reunite with his childhood friends. He has a high intellect and is the leader of the Runaways.[4] Lyrica Okano as Nico Minoru: A Wiccan who isolates herself with her gothic appearance and is a member of the Runaways.[4] Unlike the comics, Nico does not summon the Staff of One through self-harm. Okano said this was tweaked, "for good reason" as there would be "a lot of young teenagers watching the show and we don't want to promote anything like self-harm because that's serious". She added that an element of drawing blood would still be involved.[5] Virginia Gardner as Karolina Dean: A human-alien hybrid burdened by her religious upbringing who wants to pursue her own desires instead of following in her mother's footsteps, and is a member of the Runaways.[4] Karolina has the ability of flight, to glow with rainbow-colored light, and to shoot beams of light.[6] Ariela Barer as Gert Yorkes: A riot grrrl, social activist, and a member of the Runaways. She also has a telepathic link with her genetically engineered dinosaur, Old Lace.[4] Gregg Sulkin as Chase Stein: A high school lacrosse player who is often dismissed as a dumb jock, but displays brilliance in engineering and is a member of the Runaways.[4] Sulkin and the writers wanted the character to be "more layered" than the comics, and Sulkin felt that Chase was the most changed of the Runaways from the source material.[7] The character is depicted as having the potential to be as much of a genius as his father is,[8] and builds gadgets, including powerful weaponized gauntlets called "Fistigons".[9] Connor Falk portrays a young Chase.[10] Allegra Acosta as Molly Hernandez: The youngest member of the Runaways who is characterized by her positive attitude. Molly discovers she has the ability of superhuman strength and invulnerability.[4] Evelyn Angelos portrays a young Molly.[11] Angel Parker as Catherine Wilder: Alex's mother, a successful lawyer, and a member of Pride.[2] Ryan Sands as Geoffrey Wilder: Alex's father and a self-made businessman who had a grueling path to his success and is a member of Pride.[2] Annie Wersching as Leslie Dean: Karolina's mother, one of the leaders of the cult-like religious group, the Church of Gibborim, and a member of Pride.[2][12] Kip Pardue as Frank Dean: Karolina's father, a former teen star who is struggling in his professional acting career and becomes one of the leaders of the Church of Gibborim.[2][12] Ever Carradine as Janet Stein: Chase's mother who has a brilliant mind, is "a perfect PTA mom", and a member of Pride.[2] Sorel Carradine portrays a young Janet.[10] James Marsters as Victor Stein: Chase's father, an engineering genius and a member of Pride.[2] Marsters was inspired by Vincent D'Onofrio's portrayal of Wilson Fisk in Daredevil, saying it was "exactly opposite of what I was expecting", and also looked for common ground with Victor, saying, "I'm not an abusive parent but I'm not a perfect parent. I don't think anyone is." He added that Victor just wants Chase to live up to his potential.[8] Tim Pocock portrays a young Victor.[10] Brigid Brannagh as Stacey Yorkes: Gert's mother, a bioengineer, and a member of Pride.[2] Kevin Weisman as Dale Yorkes: Gert's father, a bioengineer, and a member of Pride.[2] Brittany Ishibashi as Tina Minoru: Nico's mother who is a brilliant innovator, ruthless CEO, and perfectionist "tiger mom" who is a member of Pride.[2] The character previously appeared in the film Doctor Strange, in a minor role as a Master of the Mystic Arts, portrayed by Linda Louise Duan.[13][14][15] The producers felt free to recast the role and create a different version of Tina Minoru since Duan was not named as the character in the film.[16] James Yaegashi as Robert Minoru: Nico's father and a member of Pride who is a brilli
