In this episode Quality Manager Alex Mould chats to Rebecca Walters, from Pupstarts Breeders, about the launch of the new iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Dog Breeding, Litter Socialisation and Welfare Launch

In this episode we talk to Rebecca Walters of Pupstarts Breeders on the importance of puppy socialisation and understand the importance of human and canine interaction for developing puppies. Rebecca explains techniques for habituating puppies to new experiences in a safe, calm and controlled manner, including tips for owners and groomers before they have their first groom. This podcast also reviews the role of breeders in the grooming process and explores puppy sessions that groomers can deliver as part of their services. 

In this podcast we talk to Rachel Bean all about the types of Injuries that dogs can gain when being groomed. We explore the most common injuries and Rachel provides tips and guidance for new and existing groomers to reduce potential mishaps. Rachel also explores at the current heat problems and what can be done to minimise problems. Rachel is a registered Vet Nurse and delivers the iPET Network Level 3 Award in Canine Emergency First Aid.

We review the history of iPET Network and how the PDR scheme has been designed. Sarah explains why this is important to potential and benefits for Training Providers and how this will support candidates wanting to learn without completing a formal qualification.

Emily explains her journey from having a rescue dog to creating an amazing bond via Canicross. Canicross is running with your dog using a harness over cross county.

Canicross is a sport but can be used to help develop both the dogs and humans fitness but also can support a range of dog behaviours. Emily explains the importance of the new iPET Network Level 3 Award in Canicross Coaching and her involvements in the creation of this Ofqual regulated qualification.

Kayleigh explains how the RSPCA has embraced and embedded apprenticeships into their organisation and the importance they play with individual development. We discuss the up coming Apprenticeship week 2022 and Kayleigh explains RSPCA's planned activities. We review the DOG GROOMER apprenticeship and the value this gives the industry. A very interesting listen from an organisation which values apprenticeships.
