#40 - Maximize Your Potential By Living In Reality with Isaac Mass
In this week's episode, we sit down with holistic dog coach and guru Isaac Mass. In an entertaining discussion covering a wide range of topics, Isaac describes his background in the Hasidic world and how he evolved into the man he is today. While not orthodox in the traditional sense, Isaac displays a mastery of ancient Jewish texts, citing one after another to introduce important lessons that we can all learn and grow from. Displaying wisdom beyond his years, Isaac gives his take on why some men are called upon to experience the challenges of divorce and shows maturity in describing how he realized he and his then-wife had evolved but in separate ways, necessitating the break-up, though in a respectful, peaceful manner. We also get into Isaac's approach to working with dogs and how he is able to hone in on a dog's personality to help their owners enjoy their beloved canines. Isaac is clearly a proud dad to 2 boys, gushing over their various character traits and how he leverages their qualities and character traits to bring out the best in each of them. Isaac's high-energy personality is mesmerizing, and we could have kept going for hours had time permitted. If you want to feed off a dynamic, exciting, and vibrant man with much to offer, Isaac's episode is for you. So sit back and enjoy! Contact Us to Share Your Story: https://toodadtoquit.com/contact

#39 - Supporting Parenting To A Peaceful Divorce with Yaakov Kessler
In this week's episode, we sit down with divorce support mediator Yaakov Kessler. An excellent listener and articulate communicator, it was immediately clear to us why Yaakov excels at helping couples mediate through the divorce process and avoid the unnecessary wars that often accompany divorce. We covered a range of topics such as personality conflicts, child-rearing, relationships, and even the often-heated topic of Agunot (women who cannot remarry under Jewish law due to not receiving a Jewish divorce). Offering a balanced perspective on things, Yaakov wisely describes how he doesn't look at things from a right or wrong perspective, but rather from what he can do to facilitate the needs of each party to a divorce. For those who think that divorce must be an all-or-nothing combative process, think again. As Yaakov demonstrates, divorce doesn't have to be horrible, and not only can a divorcing couple walk away serenely, but most importantly, the children can benefit from peacefully coexisting parents. It is not impossible and not beyond reach. If this sounds appealing to you, then sit down and listen to the wisdom of Yaakov Kessler! Contact Us to Share Your Story: https://toodadtoquit.com/contact

#38 - A Son's Perspective On His Parent's Divorce with Eli
In this week's episode, we sit down with none other than Ben's older brother, Eli! Similar in voice only but nothing else to the discernible eye, Ben and Eli take us on a spirited discussion down memory lane. Eli candidly describes how he helped raise Ben and care for their mom during her struggles with raising the children following their parents' separation and divorce. Offering his perspective on the challenges of a child growing up with divorced parents, Eli portrays a complicated relationship with his dad, while at the same time exhibiting peace and understanding that comes with age and experience.
In a moving tribute to their late brother Phil who died tragically in a motorcycle accident, Eli shares how it impacted his life and how he marks the anniversary of his death every year in a moving tribute with Phil's favorite foods. We also get into Eli's various brushes with potential death and how he always has managed to stay one step ahead. Witty and hilarious, Eli's energy is infectious, and you are sure to walk away not only thoroughly entertained by Eli's candor but also enriched from Eli's perspective as a child of divorce. Enjoy! #37 - Ben's Dad Also Wanted To Be An Astronaut?! with Fred Stern
We sit down with none other than Ben's dad, Fred Stern! In an understated fashion, but with an entertaining, wry sense of humor, Fred takes us on a tour of his life through his adventures building rockets, obtaining his pilot's license, and flying his family across the country. We particularly enjoyed Ben's banter with his dad, as they exchanged story after story, giving us real-time insights into the dad-son dynamic.
In his personal life, Fred was divorced while Ben was a baby and has since remarried having fathered another son and raised a step-brother to Ben. Fred offers valuable and experienced insights into his perspective on divorce, why he feels fathers should not remarry while the kids are young, and how it can impact one's ability to fully be present as a dad.
Fred also discusses the excitement of a new relationship but the "baggage" that inevitably comes after the passage of time and how one must learn to accept such baggage to make a second relationship last as he has in his own life. Fred opens up about his feelings over his relationship with Ben's mom and their challenges in communicating both pre and post-divorce.
Finally, while not overly emotional in nature, Fred vulnerably describes how painful it was to hear about Ben's divorce, how he wanted to do anything to help him, and how proud he is of all of Ben's ongoing accomplishments in a touching "Too Dad To Quit" moment. With quotable quotes and infectious enthusiasm, it was easy to see why Eric has accomplished so much success in his field. It was also clear that Eric not only talks the talk but also walks the walk, keeping up to date with the latest in personal development literature, reading each book a minimum of 6 times, some books over 200 times each, and then implementing what he reads into his life so that he can model the behavior for his clients. In addition to his profession, Eric gushed over his love for spending time with his children on the golf course, and how he intentionally ensures to maintain an excellent relationship with their mom. S2 E1 - From Capitol Records To Garbage Pail Kid Mascot with Sam Gras
In this week's episode, we sit down with another one of Ben's high school buddies, Sam Gras. A self-professed comic-book-collecting, music-obsessing "nerd". Sam takes us on a tour of his fascinating life including how he finagled his way into the music industry by promoting such bands as Radiohead and Yellowcard and then teaming up with the artists of the famed Garbage Pail Kids collection to create his own mascot which he proudly showcases at ComicCon and cosplay conventions around the U.S. Sam is also a proud dad to his daughter, the inspiration for his cosplay activities, and not only enjoys an excellent relationship with her but also with his ex-wife. They even attended the same cross fit gym with his ex-wife and new husband and had his ex-wife's son hang out at his place with his daughter. Episode 24 - Mastering ADHD To Play Pro Basketball with Ryan Lexer
In this week's episode, we sit down with former professional basketball player, Ryan Lexer. Although he stands at a towering 6' 9", Ryan was not a natural-born basketball player and describes how an inspiring talk from coach Jim Kenny who believed in him turned around his life and led him all the way from Philadelphia to the elite professional basketball league in Israel. We also get into Ryan's struggles with ADHD and how he overcame this challenge to thrive not only on the basketball court but also in his post-basketball career as head of a growing business development department for a Canadian ad tech company. Ryan also proudly talks about his initiative, PeacePlayers International, an NGO using sports to promote peace, which he co-founded and of which he sits on the board. Away from business and charitable endeavors, Ryan is a divorced dad to two teenagers and eloquently beams over his "Too Dad To Quit" moments with each of them. We enjoyed Ryan's wit and humility, were inspired by his understated commitment to excellence on and off the court, and are positive you will be as well! Episode 1 - Introducing the Too Dad To Quit Podcast
Meet Ben and Yoel, the hosts of the Too Dad To Quit Podcast. Ben and Yoel explain where this idea came from and what they hope to accomplish. The Too Dad to Quit Podcast is being launched to inspire and give strength to fellow dads going through the lengthy and often painful process of divorce. We will be hosting dads that have stayed involved in their children's lives and hearing their stories. 50%+ of marriages end in divorce and 70% of divorces in recent years are initiated by the woman. That leaves a lot of men that will be caught off guard and will need support. Contact Us to Share Your Story: https://toodadtoquit.com/contact
