Introbiz member Noleen Mariappen from inspiration for Good speaks from the heart about making a positive difference to the world

Introbiz member Noleen Mariappen from inspiration for Good speaks from the heart about making a positive difference to the world

Noleen s mission

My mission is simple- to make a positive difference to individuals, businesses, and society, while continuing to learn and grow.

Noleen s story

With a background in Organisational Psychology, my career began as one of a management and business development professional. For years I utilised my understanding of the complexities of business & organisational development, behaviour, culture and context whilst working in the areas of programme, project and operations management, more specifically managing and coordinating complex, cross-functional, £multi-mil projects, my focus expanded toward supporting business and personal growth in a more directed way. The journey began when another one of my projects was drawing to a close, and I pondered the questions- ‘who am I?’ and ‘what do I want?’

It’s not until you really think about those questions that the complexity really strikes you. I decided that I wanted to be defined as more than just a job title. I wanted to be my own boss, and be defined by my relationships… by the difference that I made to others, through my achievements, the knowledge I shared and the support I offered.

I continue to consult with a select few visionary businesses, particularly during formation and growth stages, and reach each out and support more widely whilst also feeding my passion for writing, through my books, articles and posts.

My philanthropic interests are of exceptional importance to me, and among the projects in development are:
Problem Solver Central – A strategic hub for the global non-profit community, that offers a library of resources from experts in the sector, connects people and projects with networks of support, and allows for collaborative problem-solving on a global scale.
Powerhouse of Women Worldwide (POWW) – a global collaboration of women working toward meaningful positive local and global change, within a framework of support.
Future Creators – a project that links into POWW and focuses on global participation and incentivised problem-solving.

My non-profit interests are all in their developmental stages, and I would love to connect with others who are interested in becoming involved.

Andrew Stinchcomb talking all things financial planning and his purpose to help thousands

Andrew Stinchcomb talking all things financial planning and his purpose to help thousands

Andrew talks about his purpose to help thousands of people even though he only wants 122 clients. He said the more he helps the better. What a refreshing change

The Shed.

“The Shed” was a place to be yourself. Grandsons only.

There’s an old saying: “Our past experience shapes our purpose”.

“Make sure you change into your ‘shed clothes’, Andrew!” my Mum used to shout down the hall.

It’s 1971. I am 4 years old  dressed in my favourite ‘shed’ jumper.

Look how messy my Grandfather’s shed is – but he knew where every tool was. Tools that had tales to tell.

The Shed was not a museum for lookers, but a workplace for doers. My Grandfather was a World War II Royal Marine veteran. He gave me his time and personal commitment.

We used to create things from recycled off-cuts we had around us. Seldom could he afford new wood: “You don’t waste wood”, he used to say. He was always right. About everything.

“What do you want to make?” Sometimes I knew, sometimes I didn’t. He always managed to tease out a vision and a goal. We started from wherever we were, with whatever we had … and just did it. We are making a bar skittles game in this photo. When I struggled with the saw or sanding block my Grandfather used to say, "There's no such thing as can't, boy! It is possible!”

When I told my friend, Mike, about the Shed stories, he saw my office as just like ‘The Shed’: a place where I give my time and personal commitment for those people who inspire me and I them, just like my grandfather had done for me.  Like him, ‘sleeves rolled up’, we craft our clients’ future, defining a vision and starting with whatever they have and from wherever they are to build a financial wall that nothing can get through. Shall we create your Passport ™ road map together and then a plan to make it happen? This is your version of a bar skittles game and countless other creations that came out of that shed.

Introbiz member Jen Hall talking all things copy and Unique Magic bullets

I'm Jen Hall the co-owner of a multi seven figure market leading business, award winning business coach, best selling author of Expert Unrivalled, host of the Expert Unrivalled Podcast with over 15 years experience as an entrepreneur.

I don't know you. But I do know that if the idea of dominating the market, becoming the number one choice for your niche & industry and rising to market leader position has gotten under your skin then I know you're ready and willing to do what it takes.

And when we both get really honest with each other right now... I know, you know, you can't get there entirely on your own. Not because you're not capable, but because all those ideas about the future of your business need honing, fine tuning and a close expert eye to execute them & bring them to life.

I know right now you'd do just about anything to get there but there are a few hurdles that you need to jump to get there.

Louise Evans talking about her journey as a personal fitness trainer

Louise Evans talking about her journey as a personal fitness trainer

My name is Louise, and I am a Wealth and Wellness Coach. What is a Wealth and Wellness Coach I hear you ask? Well I believe health is wealth, and the concepts that underpin the creation of both are actually one and the same.  The exact same system that can be used to produce wealth in all its forms in your life, can also be used to create ultimate and abundant health! We all have enormous potential locked up inside of us, just waiting to be activated and allowed to be expressed! I am passionate about sharing ways in which we can create more, with less effort, cultivating a sense of ease and flow in our lives. As we let go of the belief that we have to continuously strive and work harder in order to reach our goals, we can tap into an ease through a source of energy that far outweighs anything we have experienced before. Using a time tested, science driven system that has been 60 years in the making, I teach people how to uncover their dormant mental faculties, and connect with their sense of intuition in order that they be guided directly to those activities that will exponentially increase their productivity and effectiveness, without the requirement to work longer or harder!

Introbiz member Helen Phillips from Mustard Advisors talking all things coaching and mentoring

Introbiz member Helen Phillips from Mustard Advisors talking all things coaching and mentoring

Helen enjoys helping business owners to re-discover what drove them to set up their business in the first place, to develop a clear and compelling vision of where they want to go, and helping them to get there.

An engineer at heart, with a strong background in business process engineering, Helen loves the diagnostic tool, and the structured programme designed to make sure business owners maximise the value they get from their business.

Key to the success of the programme is the way we hold business owners accountable for the changes they want to make to their business, and Helen enjoys speaking to her clients on a weekly basis to keep up with how things are going; to make sure that business owners stay on track and follow up on their commitments; and to provide help and additional support if they need it. Helen identifies strongly with her clients’ businesses and likes to see herself very much as part of the team.

Who Helen loves to work with

Helen loves to work with clients that are passionate about what they do; eager to learn, and to try new things.

Helen says the most rewarding sessions are when clients are open to new possibilities, and that magical moment when you can see them change the way they think about their business, reignite the passion they have for what they do, take change on board and make it their own.

Career Background

Helen was the first female engineer employed by Allied Steel and Wire Ltd, and enjoyed a varied career with them. From an early age, Helen had the privilege of working closely with main board directors, and the brightest minds of the advisers they employed, which gave her a tremendous insight into how businesses should be run. Helen’s enquiring mind and willingness to challenge the “status quo” enabled her success in helping many of the ASW businesses to review their processes, become more efficient, and more customer focussed.

Helen joined the Eurobond group of companies as Business Systems Manager, and it soon became apparent that she had much more to offer. Over the course of 15 years with the group, Helen held managerial responsibility in Business Systems, Quality and Environmental Systems, Customer Service, Supply Chain and Logistics, and Manufacturing. Following the successful completion of an internal consultancy project, Helen was appointed Operations Manager, and then Operations Director of Eurobond Doors.

Helen is most proud of her ability to spot hidden talents in people and help them achieve their full potential. With her support, under-valued employees have transformed themselves into valued members of the team, willing to take on responsibility and contribute fully to the growth of the business. Mustard Advisers Ltd, Telephone: 02921 111 262 Email: hello@mustardadvisers.com Web: mustardadvisers.com Mustard Advisers Ltd: Registered in England & Wales No. 09415839 Registered Office: 5A, Caerphilly Business Park, Van Road, Caerphilly, CF83 3GS

Personal Interests

If you spend time with Helen, it won’t take you long to find out her passion for sailing. With her husband, Helen races a 14-foot sailing dinghy, travelling to events throughout the UK, and is extremely proud to have been the 2000 Class Welsh Champion in 2017.

It was through sailing that Helen discovered her love of coaching; she is a highly regarded racing coach, known for her ability to adapt her communication style to the audience, to deliver constructive criticism with the aim of improving performance, and for her enormous reserves of patience and persistence – skills which have served her well as a Mustard Adviser too.

Away from sailing, Helen enjoys cycling and hill-walking. Apart from the 2000 class National Championships every year, Helen’s favourite holidays involve walking, beautiful places, and good local food and wine

I was born with a congenital heart defect and following surgery in my early 20s I was told that I had a "aged heart muscle" and may well have life shortening cardiovascular problem by the time I was 60. This was my fist huge push to look for health. The second one, which really got my attention, was when my second child was born with cystic fibrosis. These two things, particularly the latter, were the driving force that started my quest for knowledge on how the body repairs, recovers and ages. Her knowledge and research on preventative health care led her to  help many families and women gain and sustain great health. This led on to her research into obesity and yo-yo dieting.  over the years she has had an exceptional success rate and is now sharing that knowledge and experience with others. Introbiz first franchisee Bernie Davies talking all things networking, where she came from and how her mum inspired her

Introbiz first franchisee Bernie Davies talking all things networking, where she came from and how her mum inspired her

“If you want to see me roar…just tell me I can’t do it!”- Bernie Davies

This has been something I’ve lived by my whole life. I once launched a business including the branding, website, registration and the first 26 signed up customers in one week…because someone told me I couldn’t.

When I moved to the United Kingdom 20 years ago, with qualifications coming out of my ears as a top lawyer, the plans I had fell through and I ended up without the job prospects I had lined up. For months I was then met with “You’re over-qualified.”

There were a few options I had then, drag my family back to Jamaica, give up and seek social welfare benefits or create a job of my own. Any ideas which one I chose?

By 2003, I was speaking at the United Nations, Geneva at the IGOC as CEO & Founder of City Refuge International, a Charity dedicated to the support of Refugees, Asylum Seekers and disadvantaged British Citizens.

What are you being told you cannot do today? Which self-limiting thoughts are you grappling with? Which childhood voice is still resonating louder than your dreams in your head? Stop! Take hold of negative thinking.

The battle is won and lost in the first 5 minutes you open your eyes in the morning. Those few minutes when you adjust your eyes and gather your consciousness. Stop…what do you allow to creep in? Is it yesterdays failures? Something horrible someone said? Is it the bad news you heard or the seemingly insurmountable hurdles the day promises?

If those are the thoughts you allow in and meditate on, you might as well have a duvet day! At least you would’ve had some rest. And sure enough you would have prevented yourself from doing things to make it worse.

So how about capturing every negative thought that tries to jump the queue when you wake up and replacing it with Thanksgiving? What do I mean? Yes I mean that whatever you might be going through at any given time, there is always something to be thankful for.

It’s about perspective. It’s about looking up and out at the beautiful sunset instead of down at the litter on the streets. It’s about recognising the buds of promise on the trees instead of the almost bare dry branches. It’s about focusing on the beautiful children we have and not the stretch marks they left us. And it’s about being thankful we can see, smell, hear, taste and touch instead of moaning about the mess and racket the kids are making while you try to work, home school and maintain a household on lockdown…..something the dead do not have the worry about!

Hannah Miller from Sidekick talking about entrepreneurship

Hannah Miller from Sidekick talking about entrepreneurship

I have had a wide and varied career so far, following a sort of meandering path rather than a strategic vision.  I’m a proud teacher by trade (although that’s not where I started – that was in marketing), I’ve been involved in leading three start-ups, including this business.

I enjoy communicating in all its forms and see it is a powerful tool for development. Writing, chatting, interviewing, podcasting, training, speaking to small or large groups, connecting with those I know and those I don’t yet know. It seems I am quite good at it – I was chosen to receive the Vistage Rising Star Award for my speaking in 2019.

I started sidekick because I believe for the world to progress it needs unique, brave and exceptional leaders. Leading their life, their teams, their communities brilliantly. I’ve had the opportunity to support leaders and emerging leaders from all sorts of sectors and backgrounds, using a strengths based approach to development, engagement and finding purpose.

Other things that I love to do that may or may not be of interest: spending time with my three teenage sons and my husband, writing lists, planning trips, running and walking with my dog Pax, drinking tea and telling jokes (badly).

I’m also deeply passionate about equality - I believe that to have real impact we need to be able to illuminate the paths of people who wouldn't ordinarily be able to access our services. We reinvest 10% of all real sales – this promise means that by choosing to work with us, our clients are enabling other leaders and entrepreneurs facing the toughest challenges on our planet to bring about real change in their lives and communities.

Sian Owen Introbiz member talking all business running her photography business

Sian Owen Introbiz member talking all business running her photography business

Hi I’m Sian. I became interested in photography from a very early age. I would sit for hours on my Grandparent’s living room floor going through family albums, fascinated by the images, and that moment’s of my families life was captured in time for me to enjoy now – incredible!

I was fortunate to be able to study photography at GCSE & A level where I had so much fun developing films and printing in the darkroom. I’d secured a place at Caerleon University where I was to study photographic art, but instead found my first summer post a levels photographing weddings with a well established wedding photographer in Cardiff (I didn’t go the uni in the end) My first wedding I photographed with a Hasselblad medium format camera with only 12 shots per film – how times have changed! After my first summer of weddings I was offered a job at a new family portrait studio in Cardiff. Here I had the privilege of photographing 100’s of families over a 10 year period, gained a wealth of knowledge and met an amazing team of photographers that I still work alongside now.

Following the birth of my daughter in 2008, It was a perfect time to think about starting my own business. In 2012 I launched Sian Owen Photography and haven’t looked back. My diary is full of gorgeous weddings, portrait bookings and corporate jobs. I pinch myself sometimes because I can’t believe I am doing what I love! And absolutely loving the journey so far.

Thank you for listening , I hope you enjoy my images. Please contact me for more details. I look forward to hearing from you!

Lets Talk About Sex! Interviewing Introbiz Member Deb Morgan from Not A Rehearsal

Deb Morgan was the owner and managing director of a UK, industry-leading business, yet in her private life she was desperately unhappy. She was in her second toxic marriage, with a newborn son. Her self-esteem and self-confidence were at rock bottom and she was drinking too much.

Because of all of this, she started allowing poor decisions to be made for her and her business. Eventually the business collapsed, she went bankrupt and her marriage toppled. She became clinically depressed and chronically stressed and went on to make some questionable career choices out of desperation.

But one day she decided that something, everything, had to change and she rewrote her script to liberate herself from the mask of fear and shame that was keeping her hidden, shackled and playing small.

And now she helps professional women over 40 to do the same enabling them to harness their feminine power and create robust, passionate relationships full of unconditional love and happiness.

Drawing upon her training as an actor and her studies of a BSc in Psychology, She powerfully combines her experience, knowledge and passion for helping other women to overcome adversity by harnessing their feminine power and stepping into a life full of passion, unconditional love, abundance and happiness.
