Episode 46: Interview with Demetra Ganias - Public Speaking Expert and Media Consultant
Demetra Ganias is a public speaking coach and media trainer based in Greenwich, CT. She brings a dozen years of experience in bustling newsroom to Ganias Media Lab. From local markets to cable news, the most impactful lesson she learned is that our words form our reputation.
After earning her journalism degree from Boston University’s College of Communication, she launched her career as a news writer in Boston at WHDH, the NBC affiliate.
Soon, she made the leap to New York City, accepting a coveted position as an NBC Page. She worked stints as a production assistant at the New York Stock Exchange for CNBC’s Business Center, and Saturday Night Live during Will Ferrell’s final season on the show. Yet, Demetra was drawn back into news, this time writing for a national audience as Associate Producer at cable news outlet MSNBC.
Realizing her passion for broadcasting, she stepped out in front of the camera. Her first on-air break came as morning anchor for the joint ABC/NBC affiliates WIVT/WBGH in Binghamton, New York, where she was quickly promoted to main anchor.
Demetra later jumped to Albany, reporting and anchoring for ABC affiliate WTEN. She covered politics extensively, spending most of her time at the State Capitol, interviewing lawmakers and breaking down complicated issues for viewers at home.
This stellar foundation launched Demetra back to New York City, reporting in the nation’s top market for CBS affiliate WCBS, connecting her with the incomparable people and places of the five boroughs.
Now, this mom of three is sharing her expertise in powerful public speaking with individual, corporate, and academic clients. Contact her to learn how she can help you with her “3 P’s Approach” – Presentations, Pitches and Persona.

Episode 40: Interview With Taylor Price - Turning Tragedy Into Triumph
One month after his Delbarton high school graduation, on July 8, 2004, Taylor Price had a catastrophic accident while vacationing on Long Island with his family. After diving into the ocean and hitting a hidden sandbar, he was rendered a C5-C6 quadriplegic at the age of 18.
His life changed dramatically and irrevocably in that moment, but it is all that he has accomplished since then that truly defines the character of Taylor Price. Simply put, he has made the impossible possible.
As a young Delbarton graduate, he was excited by the prospect of entering Georgetown University in fall 2004 as a college freshman. Instead, surrounded and supported by his loving family and friends, he aggressively sought medical and therapeutic treatments to address the devastating impact of his accident. Many cautioned him that his plan to still attend Georgetown was unfeasible but Price treated his accident as a delay, not a conclusion. In fact, started at Georgetown in fall 2005 and graduated cum laude from Georgetown in spring 2010 after double majoring in finance and marketing. Ironically, he was one of the most active students on campus during his years as an undergraduate. But academic achievements were not enough. Price also co-founded the most generous privately funded Georgetown scholarship in memory of a friend's father, served as the student representative on Georgetown's Board of Directors for two years, and was a student leader in the development of Healey Family Student Center. An avid sports fan, he was also one of Georgetown's biggest athletic supporters.
Next, in 2012, he earned a Masters of Professional Studies in Sports Industry Management from Georgetown and received the Ignatian Student Award, annually presented to one student for maintaining academic excellence while embodying Georgetown's Jesuit ideals and making a significant impact to the community. “Impossible” is a concept that does not sit well with Taylor Price.
Price currently works at EVERFI, a company on the cutting edge of merging both the private and public sectors to deliver digital education differently. Previously, he held a prestigious job at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as Campaign Manager of the national “If You See Something, Say Something®” and has interned at The White House in Washington, DC, at Merrill Lynch in New York City, NY and at Vineyard Vines in Stamford, CT.
From the first, he spoke candidly about his accident and shared his inspirational outlook at schools, nonprofits and large companies. He serves as an active, vocal advocate for The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation and, since co-founding the Georgetown University Conference on Employment of People with Disabilities, he works hard to increase the employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Price is also an active member of the Delbarton Alumni Association board and A Place To Be®, an organization that helps people navigate and overcome life's challenges using clinically-based music therapy and expressive arts therapy.
The accident and its aftermath are facts that impact his life, yet they do not define him.

Episode 37: Interview with Jeff Grant: Navigating White Collar Crime & The Aftermath
As an ordained minister, conversations and communications between Jeff and those he serves fall under state clergy privilege laws. This is one reason that attorneys often allow and encourage their clients to maintain relationships with Jeff while in active prosecution or litigation situations. Not a prison consultant; not a prison coach. Sometimes referred to in the press as “The Minister to Hedge Funders,” he regularly uses his experience and background to guide people faithfully forward in their lives, relationships, careers and business opportunities, and to help them from making the kinds of decisions that previously resulted in loss, suffering and shame. After an addiction to prescription opioids and serving almost fourteen months in a Federal prison for a white-collar crime he committed when he was a lawyer, Jeff started his own reentry – earning a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York, with a focus in Christian Social Ethics. After graduating from divinity school, Jeff was called to serve at an inner city church in Bridgeport, CT as Associate Minister and Director of Prison Ministries. He, and his wife and partner-in-ministry Lynn Springer, then co-founded Progressive Prison Ministries, Inc. (Greenwich, CT), the world’s first ministry serving the white collar justice/economy exiled community.

In addition to NFL Live, Nix co-hosted Sunday NFL Countdown with Chris Berman for three seasons (2014-16).
Nix originally joined ESPN in August 2006 as a reporter and host covering college football, the NFL and golf. She previously hosted College Football Live and college football Saturdays on ESPN2.
