Trekken Cryptos 2 Connect

By Trekkw2Ks

Hola G&Gs, Welcome to my podcast, I'm Trekk. In 2018, I left the traditional work force and crossed the #crypto fiat line. Since then I’ve been on the roller coaster being self-employed. In the podcast, I share my trek on the ups and downs to make a living in crypto space and growing #gigeconomy. I share these stories while talking to various people in the growing blockchain industry. My style is conversational like #JoeRogan meets #Tavis Smiley meets #Godfry. One segment is called Everyday People and the other is called Conversations With. I hope you enjoy. Reach out if you want to share.

TC2C EP 039: Conversations With Felty 256 Pt 2

Hola Hola G&Gs,

This is a specially pushed ep in memory of Felty256.  As I said the crypto space lost a good dude. Condolences to the family and the Philly crypto community. This may seem unrealistic but it never occurred to me that someone I interviewed could transition on. And he was the last person I was expect to year that kind of news about. I'm glad I got to know talk with him. Irony, I was going to hit him up about making Coinvention this year. Which I knew he would be at. Felty was very supporting of the local crypto Philly scene. I think this is a deserving moment to honor the Philly native and founder of. Vidyen

As you'll hear in this part, we talk about a couple of different things like his passion for what he was doing in the space, him questioning how to place a monetary value on what we do in the space, and even getting a intern. Yeah, we covered a lot. He was one of the smart people I know in Philly. I'm glad I had the opportunity to know him.

Hola Hola G&Gs,

This is a specially pushed ep in memory of Felty256.  As i said the crypto space lost a good dude. Condolences to the family and the Philly crypto community. It's funny we talked about doing this interviews for months before actually talking.  We finally did a few months back. This ep wasn't supposed to come out this week. But I think this is a deserving moment to honor the Philly native and founder of Vidyen. It was a web browser mining software.

As you hear in this first part of the convo, we talk about a couple of different things eventually getting back to how he got into  the crypto space.

The second part of the conversation will follow this episode.

TC2C EP 037: Conversations With Bitcoin Zay Pt 2

Hola Hola G&Gs,

So here is the rest of the conversation with Bitcoin Zay. This is a special episode for a few reasons. In this episode, I talk with Isaiah Jackson AKA Bitcoin Zay. Zay is half of the dynamic duo of The Gentlemen of Cryptos. You can find them on Youtube and iTunes.

This is Zay’s second time on the podcast, making him my first repeat guest. Thanks again for coming one the podcast. It was great timing to semi-relaunching of the podcast with Zay's new book Bitcoin and Black America. As I've said in my social media, going forward I will be promoting more blacks in the crypto space and black in tech. Yes, we’re coming out kicking, lol.

In the second, half we talk about how people generally get involved in cryptos because of price but then stay for the tech. And how once you really get things like Bitcoin, it changes how you understand money. Not to mention the career opportunists you see opening up the more the technology in integrated into society.

Last thing G&Gs, I don't usually put my name behind or push anything. Even sponsored products or services get a limited mention. Especially when it comes to the podcast. But this book is something I think everyone needs to read. But black american needs to read and understand what is coming down the pike. Again thank you Zay for writing this book and keep doing what you do.

TC2C EP 035: Conversations With Dr Tiffany Gray

Hola Hola G&Gs,

So in this EP, I talk with Dr Tiffany Gray. I meet her when I co-organized a panel on diversity and inclusion in the crypto space. She was one of the panelists. I didn't get to talk with her much then but paid attention to her social media postings. I was interested to hear more about her thoughts are on how blockchain could help the medical/healthcare industry. She definitely has some ideas on how this disruptive technology could be applied. But she also voices concern about what it means to just dump people's personal medical data into their laps of people without providing them the education on what it means to maintain positive control, managing it, or monetizing it.

As you will hear, she shares how she came into the space and what she understands about integrating blockchain into her field of expertise. Namely, that you have to ask the tough questions on how will this be practically implemented and what effect will it have on the bigger society? Dr Gray where's a number of hats and this positions her in the key to be asked questions and give the big wigs real answers.

Also please like, share, heart, thumbs up, leave a comment, or ask a question, and all the other call to action stuff your suppose to say. I can't get the word out without you'll. So thanks in advance and I appreciate you taking the time to listen.

TC2C EP 030: Conversations With... Mike Salvi

Hola Hola G&Gs,

So in this EP, I talk with the Mike Salvi. He is the first crypto comedian I had the pleasure of meeting through Nathan Hauk (Nat knows very interesting people.) The Philly native understands blockchain and cryptos. But more importantly, he knows how to make it funny. To the point, that he was able to do last minute open mic act for Fuffly Pony (if you don't know who that is Presearch Monero) in Vegas last year.

As you heard in the snippet mike talks about getting on the train early for this nitch. To be clear he's not the only comedian working on making a name for themselves in the space. In the beginning, he did shy away from the title of Crypto Comedian. But eventually he did embrace the label and he's glad to be one of the early ones in the space.

As you listen, we talk about more than just making jokes. We talk about what were the pros of the bear market, a interesting town call Portsmouth New Hampshire, and OG Derrick R Freemon. And as always Mike doesn't disappoint in in conversation. He made me lol and think at the same time.

Also please like, share, heart, thumbs up, leave a comment, or ask a question, and all the other call to action stuff your suppose to say. I can't get the word out without you'll. So thanks in advance and I appreciate you taking the time to listen.

TC2C EP 029: Everyday People Talking with Dr Richard Molock

Hola Hola G&Gs,

So in this EP, I talk with Dr. Richard Molock.  I co-organized a panel on diversity and inclusion in the crypto space at  Bowie State. And had the chance to met Richard. He made some very insightful points about how even in America there are issues with locations being a barrier to entry into cryptos. We kept in contact and he was interested in sharing his story.

We talk about some of the basic things to remember and how this new technology is creating new jobs and opportunities and people can take advantage of. For towns who relied heavily on production plants, those days of lifetime work are long gone. The older and new generation need to understand what blockchain technology can mean for their future.  If you want to get into the space but have been scared to cross the line. I hope this EP motivates you to make that next move. It's not as hard as you think.

If you or anyone you know is interested in sharing their crypto story. Please reach out and lets set some time up to talk. I would love to have you on and share your story. That's what this whole thing is about, after all, connecting people together. One conversation at a time.

Also please like, share, heart, thumbs up, leave a comment, or ask a question, and all the other call to action stuff your suppose to say. I can't get the word out without you'll. So thanks in advance and I appreciate you taking the time to listen.

TC2C EP 023: Learning More About Me n Talking with Wendy O

TC2C EP 023: Learning More About Me n Talking with Wendy O

Hey G&Gs,

First, let me say I hope you're having a better day than yesterday. Second, thanks for coming back and listening to my rambles and rants with guest(s).  If this is your first time, thanks for checking me out. Here is a breakdown of the podcast.

TC2C: Daily Talk

The episode is broken into 2 segments. The first part is called Daily Talk and last about 10 or less. I basically cover what I'm going through in transitioning my career path from fiat to crypto-based work. There good, bad, and ugly. I try and cover what it's really like living in space from my personal experiences and observations. The recordings start from November 2017. There's a lot to cover.

For this EP, I'm talking about what I was going through in learning more about my short coming. It was kind of a rough week. I've said it on Instagram and Twitter. If you go through a whole year working to be a entrepreneur and don't learn anything new about yourself. You weren't trying hard enough. This was just the beginning of me really understanding how much I really wanted to be in the crypto space at this level.

TC2C: Everyday People

The second segment Everyday People is the actual interview or as I like to say conversation. They can last from 20 to 60 plus mins. I use framing questions but the time varies based on the person. I don't do price talk or politics. And there is no blatant shilling of products or services. However, in the end, I do however ask the guest what is a blockchain based product or service they would tell someone else about. So that's pretty much it. The point of this segment is to share the story of everyday people who are at the ground level and forefront of the crypto space working to help educate and empower people about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.

For this segment, I get to talk with Crypto Wendy O. Her story of how she got into the space and totally changed her career path is really amazing. And it goes to show you don't have to be  a techie geek or lots of money to make it in the space. You just have to put in the work to learn what part of the space works for you. This ep was recorded last year but what she says is 100% relevant in 2019. If you aren't  on the grind to learn and improve your self during this bear market. Your setting yourself up to be left behind when everything really started. This applies to individuals and companies.

I'm a true believer that in order for mass adoption to happen we have to include people from all walks of life. I want to share those stories to show that anyone can be involved in blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

The first part is called Daily Talk and last about 10 mins or less. I primarily cover what I'm going through in transitioning my career path from fiat to crypto-based work. There good, bad, and ugly. I try and cover what it's really like living in space from my personal experiences and observations. The recordings start from November 2017. There's a lot to cover.

I'm a true believer that for mass adoption to happen we have to include people from all walks of life. I want to share those stories to show that anyone can be involved in blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

In this Daily Talk, I was trying a new format of doing a weekly wrap up. At this time I really started to understand what is meant by the "crypto rabbit whole." Even though I've been in the space for-year at that point. It felt like I was learning everything over again. And there was so much more information available compared to when I first got in. I was also getting overwhelmed from trying to do everything on my own and in one day. I would literally be up for 18 plus hours in a day. This is now something I recommend for anyone. Not everyone has the time or energy to do what I did, honestly. The more significant lesson was learning that I had to pace my self on how I was working on the various projects. And it was ok to not finish everything in 1 day.

For the Everyday People segment, I had the chance to speak with Rhonda Eldridge. She was a CPA by trade but now works in investment funding of blockchain based companies. We talk about the shift in her original career path and what got her into blockchain technology and cryptos.  She talks about helping others gain more insight into the space and become active participants. We even expand on the playing out of the top down and bottom up models and the effect they will have on the mass adoption of blockchain technology.

Well, that's the episode. Please share like, heart, thumbs up, leave a comment, and all the other call to action stuff. And if you like what you heard, I really appreciate any donations your provide. It really takes a lot more than I initially thought to do a podcast, lol. Any help would be great. But more importantly, I hope something you heard inspires you to get involved or motivates you to keep going. Thanks and I look forward to having you come back.

And sometimes I would be a day or two behind. At the time I was talking about Meetups, GBA, and a Morgan crypto event I went to. I've since then switched back to doing something on a more daily time frame.

For the Everyday People segment I talk with ACU5BTC aka Taylor. He shares history about the first and last time he used a carpool and how it led to him learning about cryptos and blockchain. The story isn't what you think. He is a graduate of Google University when if comes to cryptos and makes no qualms about. We talk 2D to 3D holographic microchips and more. Trekken Cryptos 2 Connect: A Convo with Crypto Blood

Hey GnGs,

So this is the 1st episode of Trekken Cryptos 2 Connect being on BitTube. This has been a while coming. This EP is actually an experiment for how I'm looking to expand who I talk to on TC2C. The idea going forward is to started talking with more noted personalities in the Crypto Space.

My first guest is non other than Crypto Blood. If you don't know who he is then you haven't been paying attention to the crypto content creators or you were just living under a rock, lol.

CB use to be a Forex trader and now uses that knowledge on crypto exchanges. He even created his own trading bot. Yeah he programmed his own algo to help him be a more effective trader.

Me and him have been trying to catch up for months now and the day finally came. But in a ironic twist, we didn't actually do a interview. We just talked about stuff centered around entrepreneurship and social media. I'm posting this because we cover some pretty key points that anyone looking to get into cryptos as a business may want to take notes. And even if you going into another area it still applies.

Like I said this is a tester EP. I still don't know what to name this new segment of Trekken Cryptos 2 Connect. Just know I will be doing more episodes like this along with my regular ones. If you want to check out the other EPs go to anchor.fm/trekk.

TC2C EP 010 Studying Problems n Talking with Luke Batmen

Hey G&Gs, In EP 010 I get into some of the problems I was having at the time with learning Solidity and the online courses I was using. I'll have the links below. So it was during the whole Crypto Kitties thing and I didn't know it took that long to sync with the Ethereum blockchain. Listen to hear my workaround at the time. I also give some tips on how to study when using videos. Helpfully, I help some out there avoid the headaches I went through, lol. Now getting into my guest. Luke Batemen is someone I met because of advising the same project. For the first couple of months, I only heard his name. But once we had the chance to talk directly about the project, I know he had to be on the podcast. Listen for your self and see what I'm talking about. TC2C EP 013: Lollygagging and Procrastination n Talking with Douglas 3D

TC2C EP 013: Lollygagging and Procrastination n Talking with Douglas 3D

Hola G&G's, Here we are luckly number 13, lol. The irony in relation to what I talk about in the first segment of the show lollygagging and procrastination. I do believe that the universe has its own timing. And sometimes L n P is just you working out in your spirit or mind a situation. No this isn't spiritual talk, not my cup of tea. However, at that time I was facing the reality of my shortcomings and reading was one of them. That doesn't mean you can learn, you just have to find other ways to get the information. In the second segment, I talk with my boy Douglas 3D. I don't remember how we met on twitter but we been kool since. He knows his cryptos for sure. I'm glad I have someone like him to chop up crypto stuff with. As you listen to what he says, realize he is talking from first-hand experience. So if you take the time to look at his site, it's all stuff that he uses. Even if you don't, hope you still learned something G&Gs. Also, I would like to thank LABitConf2018 for sponsoring me to attend the Latin American Bitcoin and Blockchain Conference in Santiago, Chile. This is my first time in South America and it is a great honor. I'll be posting on Instagram and Twitter so make sure to check my social media. And special shout-outs to Cheapair.com for still taking cryptos in the bear market of 2018. That's who I booked my flight though. TC2C EP 012: Life n the Universe Talking with Afrikanus Kofi

TC2C EP 012: Life n the Universe Talking with Afrikanus Kofi

Hey G&Gs, So I'm really in the double digits for episodes now. Oh Yeah!!! Who would've thought people would keep agreeing to talk with me, lol. In the first segment, I'm talking about dealing with the reality of leaving my job at the time. I was all about jumping two feet head first. It's funny how life works out. We never know what we're capable of until we have to perform. That was a life lesson moment for me. I hope you learn from my mistakes G&Gs, seriously. For the second segment, I had the pleasure of talking with Afrikanus Kofi, who was at the time in Kenya. He is a true crypto nomad. I really enjoyed talking with him. I hope you were taking notes, I did. Part of next years goal for TC2C is to go to Africa. Not sure which country yet but somehow it will happen. TC2C EP: 011 What I Like About Meetups n Talking with Jackqueline Alvirdez

TC2C EP: 011 What I Like About Meetups n Talking with Jackqueline Alvirdez

Hey G&Gs, So this EP I talk about a Crypto Meetup I went that never happen. But I was able to meet some else in the Bmore crypto community. If this is your first time listen I'm a big fan of ground-level events and getting to meet people in the space. I thing Meetups are a great way to learn about what people are talking in the bigger community. More importantly, you get to find like-minded folks locally who are looking to affect what is going on locally. On the second have I got to talk with Jackqueline. She is a ball of energy and wears many hats. Being a Crypto Meetup host, event planner, and organizer for grassroots subjects I wonder where she gets all the energy from. I'm inspired because it goes to the whole mission of Trekken Cryptos 2 Connect, that being to highlight the people at the ground level putting in the work to help educate and empower people about cryptos and blockchain technology. Also, I would like to thank LABitConf2018 for sponsoring me to attend the Latin American Bitcoin and Blockchain Conference in Santiago, Chile. TC2C EP 009: Looking For Work & Talking w/Karima Williams

TC2C EP 009: Looking For Work & Talking w/Karima Williams

Hey G & Gs, So for this EP I start off talking about the reality of looking for work. It was definitely not what I was expecting, mainly because I wasn't where I thought I'd be with learning Solidity. And dipping into the HODL bag wasn't working to anymore. Yeap, the reality of looking to live in the crypto space. My guest for this EP is Karima William. The interview is a little dated from earlier in 2018. She is the host for multiple crypto and blockchain centered Meetups in DC. And is now holds the title of Community Builder at ConsenSys's DC office and is doing bigger things in DC. Krima is the perfect example of what I'm trying to get people to understand out blockchain technology. You don't have to be really smart as a rocket scientist or have money like Bill Gates. For mass adoption to happen it will take all types of people from various walks of life. She is doing here part to help educate and empower those interested in learning about blockchain technology. TC2C EP 008: Looking Into Udemy to Learn Solidity & Talk w/Patrick

TC2C EP 008: Looking Into Udemy to Learn Solidity & Talk w/Patrick

Hey G&Gs This ep is a shorty. Its a few seconds short of 31 mins, lol. For the Daily Talk, I get into looking at Udemy to learn Solidity and what I was starting to understand how smart contracts are created. For the interview, I went to a Meetup at Maker Space. I spoke with Patrick McGuire. He's one of the most laid-back white hatters I know. We talk about mining, scaling, and just being able to tinker with technology. Hope you learn something G&Gs.

TC2C EP 006: What's I've Noticed

TC2C EP 006: What's I've Noticed

Hey G&G's, This ep is the full recording from my Daily Talk. I go into what I was noticing at the time. Back then I was really just looking at the space from the dev's side. A lot of the the ICOs that came out at that time were just Whitepapers filled with ideas but no tech behind them. The more daunting thing was dealing with self doubt and the people who had good intentions but didn't think it was a smart thing for me to do. Thank goodness for the ones who did believe in me. Some of them will never know how much I appreciate them. They say if you want something bad enough, all you have to do is work hard for it. I don't believe that statement to be 100% true. I do think hard work plays a major part. But I believe the other part is having the right people around to support your endeavor. The support comes in different ways. Some one will tell others about what your doing. There my be a day when you need a "cup of sugar". Or just to have someone say keep it pushing and they believe in you. It's sounds silly but when your going through it. It makes a world of difference. Well until the next one G&G's. Thanks for the support.

TC2C EP 007: Daily Talk & Interview W/ Nanu Berks

TC2C EP 007: Daily Talk & Interview W/ Nanu Berks

Hey G&G's For this Daily Talk I get it looking for a job in the crypto space. There was a job I found on a job site. I figured why not try to apply for it. There is no question, the job market in the space has grown a great deal since then. More traditional job roles are appearing on job sites. This is what I'm trying to get people to see. The change is slowly creeping in, like fog on a lake. We even see conventional businesses like Fidelity publicly admit they are working with cryptocurrencies. This year may not have moved like some would've liked in terms of mass adoption and usable products and services. But there has been some change. Even the baby steps count. For the interview, I had a great time talking with Nanu Berks. A crypto creative artist based in Texas. We get into her growing in Argentina and living through economic collapse, how traditional education system didn't work for her and overcoming it, and how she traveled as a nomad around the world. I was definitely moved by her story and I know you can hear it in the interview. I hope that this ep inspires you to take that first step in getting out there and taking the chance to learn what cryptocurrency and blockchain technology is really all about. This isn't just about lambos and making money. It's about inclusion and helping to build communities while changing peoples lives for the better. Until the next ep G&G's. Please pass the word. TC2C EP 005 Interview w/Nathan Hauk

TC2C EP 005 Interview w/Nathan Hauk

Hey G&G's So for this ep I cut the Daily Talk in half. I'll have a ep with the full recording. In short the first segment was about what I was noticing when I told people what I was looking to do. As well as just how I was preparing to cross over. Remember the point of TC2C is to show you what it's really like living in this space. Forget what you see people posting on IG, FB, and Twitter. It ain't all that glam. Hopefully, some of what I said made sense to someone out there. The space is a lot bigger and more mature that when I got in. But there is still a ways to go when it comes to convience and the tehcnology being integrated into everyday life. On the second half I got to speak with the man who first let me talk about the cryptos space on stage, Nathan Hauk. He is one of the most direct and knowledgeable people I know in the space. Hopefully you heard something that made you think. Remember what I say if your talking about real mass adoption. Its going to take all types of folks from different walks of like. This isn't just about making money and lambos. The next ep will be the whole "What I've Noticed" rant, lol. TC2C EP 0004: Tools and Resources

TC2C EP 0004: Tools and Resources

Hey G&G's, For this ep I didn't add the interview. I got into what I was using and why. Please remember this was when the main goal was to become a smart contract dev. Since then I've adjusted the focus. I do still want to learn that and do still work on building that skill. But since then I've learned it's not a simple 1, 2, 3 thing. Since I went longer than expected I didn't see the point of adding the second segment to this one. Any who, I hope something I say helps someone. If you have any questions do reach out. You can find me on Twitter @smarttrekken. Next ep will have an interview attached, promise. It will be with a guy I respect. I'm glad we met. He was the first one to give me a mic in the crypto space. I've even been to a few states thanks to him. Check out ep 005 to find out who. Music by: Manny Man
