The Social Glo-Up: Strava

The Social Glo-Up: Strava

Strava connects millions of runners, cyclists, hikers, walkers, and other active people through the sports they love - tracking their activities, distance, time, and more!

I personally use it to track all of my runs and the occasional walk with the dogs.

Here's what we would do if we were running Strava's social media 👇

1. Social Media Takeovers

This 2015/2016 trend took social media by storm but seems to have disappeared overnight.

Strava should look at active community members and cross-reference to find them on social media.

They should then let popular content creators "takeover" their account for the day to highlight their own day in the life.

This should be runners, cyclists, surfers, you name it!

2. Content Series: 'Footrace'

Kids on the playground are always racing to determine the grade school 'hierarchy'.

Let's prompt strangers on the street to race against us.

What could be better than capturing an unprepared 40-yard dash?

(Sidenote: Every family vacation my brothers and I do our annual 100-yard dash to determine the fastest brother.

23 years later, I've yet to lose.)

3. Physical Health <> Mental Health

A Gen Z trend we've seen is all around #HotGirlWalk or #MentalHealthWalk.

The promotion of walking to "get the vibes right".

There's a plethora of data to support the number of steps you take daily and your overall happiness and well-being.

Strava should lean into the education and information of going for a quick jog or a 10-minute walk to get the mind right.

--

What would you do for Strava?
