The Suicide Squad (2021)
In 2018, director James Gunn (writer of Tromeo and Juliet) was fired from Disney. They rehired him a year later, but during that hiatus from the largest entertainment company on the planet, he wrote and directed The Suicide Squad. Of all his movies done since entering the mainstream, this most embodies the Troma spirit.

The Lucio Fulci Special
In 2001, five years after Italian director Lucio Fulci passed into the great beyond, Troma Entertainment picked up the distribution rights for the Godfather of Gore's low-budget dystopian sci-fi flick The New Gladiators (or Warriors of 2072). Jeff and Lucas deep-dive into this hidden gem, as well as announce the release of Lucas Mangum's newest book: The Final Gate. Co-written with Splatterpunk Award winner Wesley Southard, it's the ultimate prose tribute to the late horror maestro. You can preorder here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0972JN4B4

Luther the Geek
In carnie terminology, a geek was a sideshow act involving the eating of strange, inedible things (in the old days, this often invited biting the heads of chickens). In Roger Ebert's review of the Troma classic Mother's Day, the critic used the term "geek cinema" to describe films intended to shock and disgust. Luther the Geek is a 1989 movie about a deranged killer terrifying a family after his release from prison. Jeff and Lucas dissect the latter in this latest episode of Make Your Own Damn Podcast, a podcast where they look back on the wonderful, whacky films of Troma Entertainment.

Rabid Grannies
Jeff and Lucas examine the beloved possession flick Rabid Grannies. First things first, the villains the title refers to are neither rabid nor grannies. That said, it's still a great title, and this is a wild movie with a wild (and mysterious) production and release history.

Father's Day
Jeff and Lucas take a look at the sleeper grindhouse hit Father's Day. A joint venture between Troma and the now-defunct Astron-6, Father's Day is a wildly inappropriate and enjoyable slice of cinematic splatter and gonzo exploitation. Tales from the Crapper
An anthology film in the tradition of EC comics but with way more nudity and fart jokes, Tales from the Crapper is truly one of the strangest entries in Troma's filmography, and that's saying something!

Terror Firmer
Terror Firmer is the latest moneymaking Dali-esque masterpiece unleashed by director Lloyd Kaufman and the Troma Team. Their trademark manic humor combines with a new darker sensibility to create the latest in a legendary line of genre-bending classics. Inspired by Lloyd Kaufman’s book, “All I Need To Know About Filmmaking I Learned From The Toxic Avenger” (Penguin Putnam), Terror Firmer is the most action packed, most personal, most bizarre, and most commercial celluloidal adventure in the 25-year history of Troma Entertainment. Honored by Film Festivals the world over, Terror Firmer has firmly established Troma as THE fount of mass appeal alternative cinema, the world’s source for something challenging and original.

Cannibal! The Musical
Long before becoming household names with the creation of South Park, a couple of film students named Trey Parker and Matt Stone got together with their friends and classmates to make a movie about Alfred Packer, the first person convicted of cannibalism in the United States. The result was Cannibal! The Musical, an irreverent yet quaint film full of songs and flesh-eating. The last stop on their search for a distributor was the infamous Troma Entertainment and the rest is history. Hosts Lucas Mangum and Jeff Burk talk about everything from the making of the film, the film itself, the true story of Alfred Packer, the INSANE commentary track on the DVD and early experiences with Parker and Stone.
