Be warned: strong opinions are presented in this episode. Liberals, drug abusers, alcoholics and fans of Trump and/or tofu will probably not appreciate this one. So for those of you out there that said this is what you wanted, here ya go. I hope you're happy!

My guest and I have very different opinions on a wide variety of subjects, and we sit down to discuss a couple of them. Such as the beginnings of the universe as we know it: was it all happenstance, does Genesis in the Bible explain the science of the Big Bang, or did God just flip a switch and there was light? We may never know in our lifetime. But one thing I do know - if Elon Musk were to be a guest on our little show for even just ten minutes, I could die a happy man.

In the first part of the episode we talk about Kyle Rittenhouse, and the opinions we have may surprise you. This is followed up with a discussion about the killing of Cannon Hinnant, human trafficking and pedophilia. As if this episode wasn't disturbing enough, we also talk about why you need to walk around Australia with forks on top of your heads for protection - you'll thank us later.

We changed gears a bit for this episode, lightened things up and and talked about sports. With everything going on in sports right now you might be thinking, "How can this episode not involve politics?" Basically we discuss the difference between heroes vs. role models, Pete Rose and how I was knocked out playing baseball as a kid. But don't worry - the sequel to this episode will be chock full of politics in sports and hard opinions. And of course, I'll be just as ridiculous as Pete Rose's haircut.

I swear this isn't a repeat episode of the previous podcast. Yes, we're talking about COVID and the police, but this time we also talk about Terry Crews and Tool. Old Spice and alternative metal? It's like we're in the '90s again!

This podcast ended up running so long, we split it into two parts. Our two guests brought a lot of intelligent conversation and a little bit of ridiculous humor. Well, maybe it was a little bit of intelligent conversation and a lot of ridiculous humor. Either way, we're sure you'll enjoy. So here begins part one of Episode 6 of The Rest of Us.

Just because you have the ability to do something, does that mean you should do it? This will be the main topic of discussion for me and my guest, and we may have some unexpected opinions. 

But there is definitely something we both agreed on.

If you have the ability to teleport a sausage and mushroom pizza to our studio, we will certainly take it off your hands.

We decided to try something new - this episode will be shared with another podcast. My guest is actually the person that got me into podcasting. So if anyone is to blame for getting this podcast off the ground - it's him. Get him.

We decided to do something different and take the podcast on the road, and had some friends that were gracious enough to let us record in their home. The quality may not be the best, but you can still hear the conversation just fine. In this episode, we'll continue talking about topics that turn into shouting matches on social media, and tend to cause people to be unfriended. Instead, you're going to hear 4 friends have an open discussion, share different viewpoints, then head out to dinner together. Hopefully this will be just another example of how change and understanding can come about through conversation. The worst part of this day, really, is that I'm still picking chorizo out of my teeth.

Our first guest, Jordan, dives into what it's like to be biracial and the experiences he's had with both cultures. We both talk about North vs. South, and how our political views may not be exactly what you might expect.
