Trading Abroad vs Trading at Home
I've had some requests for some photos from this beautiful tropical paradise I spent my last week, working my business, trading, eating great foot, having fun, enjoying spectacular sunsets, warm in-pool bars with delicious tropical cocktails, etc. I posted a few photos on our blog, https://www.backpacktrader.com for you to check out. https://wp.me/paBmHX-8b
Do me a favor and post some of your favorite 'trading abroad' photos on our blog. I'd love to see where you're trading from and how you're becoming your own best version of the Backpack Trader.
Trading Abroad in Mexico
Don't get sucked into all the probaganda stuff you hear on the news about Mexico and the lovely people that live here. This is a paradise place and the people are warm, kind hearted, generous and hard working people. My wife and I love it here and we try to get down here as often as we can.
The beauty of being a Backpack Trader is that we can trade from nearly everywhere. I like to come down here when I'm cooking up new trade approaches, whether they be new tradeplans or all new trading strategies. I've come up with some of my best stuff down here, like, Spotlight Power Trader. Well, that was more of an international effort that started in Paris, but ended up in Mexico. That's what put the caramelo en la torta. lol
I'll be posting some screenshots of some stuff I'm currently working on. You can check it out at the https://www.backpacktrader.com site. As usual, please comment and let me know the most interesting places you've traded from. We can all inspire one another to achieve ultimate freedom, which is what the BPT is all about, and become our own best versions of the backpack trader.
Non Secret to Making More Money
Check out this Non Secret to Making More Money. Also, hear how I'm doing after I put myself out there to the world to shed some pounds; not British Pounds but actual fat pounds. Also, check out how having 'Fun with Moving Averages' opens up all kinds of mid to late morning trade opportunities. You'll see examples on http://backpacktrader.com.
Pound for Pound, Sitting is the New Smoking
As traders it so easy to get too comfortable in the chair. In this short podcast I share what I have done to balance the need to move around and not become too sloth-like. While this is not meant to be a weight loss podcast, as Backpack Traders, we do need to remain spry and have the ability to do the things we love to do once our trading has done its work. Check out how I keep the blood flowing and combat the tendency to be too sedentary.
I also made a commitment to the world to drop 10 pounds!! I figure if I put it out there you guys would all hold me accountable. How about doing the same thing? Let's take care of our health so that we all have more time to enjoy the fruits of our trading labors with the ones we love. Please respond back with your own personal 'better health' goals. Small steps can add up to a lot and as a community we can all help one another achieve the best lifestyle we can ever imagine for ourselves.
As far as trading goes, we'll be focusing a lot of forex for a while. Forex swing trading is right in the wheelhouse of the Backpack Trader theme. All we have to do is check out charts 5 to 15 minutes per day, at some point in the evening, and that's about it. We love low maintenance trading that can pretty much take care of itself and that's what we're going to be focused on. Would love to hear from you on that as well. Would you like to be able to do that? 5 to 15 minutes per day on average is all that is required to put on hugely successful forex trades. The backpack trader loves that for obvious reasons. Grumpy to Start but What a Trade!
I decided to edit an excerpt from this morning's traderoom session, mostly due to popular demand (someone requested it) but also, because I gave a thorough explanation of the type of setup I look for. As was explaining it, I literally talked myself into taking the trade which you will see live in the traderoom. Afterwards, I talked about other setups I really like. One in particular I taught during the recent Wealth 365 presentation I gave.

Bye!
A Robot for Prosperity
Say a prayer for me, everyone. I'm letting my 15 yr old son drive about 50 miles to his soccer game. I've already checked to make sure the passenger side airbag is working. I was thinking how great it would be to have a trading robot that actually worked, running in the background in case we do 'crash and burn.'
I just joined my buddy Rob Booker's Robot Trading program and while I realize it won't be ready on time for today, I do plan on getting it up and running as fast as possible because if I do happen to survive today's journey, there are going to be lots more. I see harrowing, face to face with death experiences, many times in my near future.
Stop Wining, It's Wine Time
I used to think the TGIF, Thank God its Friday, was so overdone and cliche. It is, too! But today, I'm thinking those exact thoughts and am quite happy today IS Friday. It's been a hugely successful week. And busy! Funny how success and busy often go hand in hand.
It doesn't need to be that way with pure trading though. The who idea of the 'backpack trader' is to NOT be too busy, at least not with 'busy stuff.' A good winning trade that you can duplicate over and over again is really all you need. Maybe a few trades sometimes, but short and to the point, right? Get that money, shut it down, and enjoy the day. That's what I intend to do today. Then, I'm off to my favorite winery here in the beautiful Napa Valley to pick up my seasonal shipment. Just in time for the weekend. (Notice I didn't mention not a single word about taxes!! -- Oops!)
Check out Backpack Trader blog pose where I show a trade I took yesterday, right before I had to go on to present for the Wealth 365 Symposium. I wanted to discuss a tactic anyone can use and saw the trade forming shortly before my curtain call, so I took it. It worked like a charm but was too darn efficient (lol) because it had already hit its targets a before I actually logged in to start talking to everyone.

An East Coaster at Heart
I'm a terrible 'waker-upper,' particularly when I'm at home, on the Pacific West Coast. How about you? How are you in the morning when it's time to wake up? Are you grumpy like me? I can never understand those that spring outta bed, bright eyed and bushy tailed. That's not me! Curious about how others feel when they first wake up. Let me know. You can visit our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/TheBackpackTrader and leave a comment to let me know. It will be fun to hear what everyone has to say on this! Meanwhile, I'll be working on tradeplans designed to be profitable, starting later in the morning!!
Don't Call me Houston
While in Woodlands, Texas, I learned that some people will judge a book by its cover and let you know it. But once you take the time to stop and talk for a moment or so, they realize they actually like the book. My book cover was the shirt I was actually wearing. If I knew it would stir up so much controversy, I would have been wearing this shirt far more often! To find out what I was wearing, click on the above link and check out the post on my BackpackTrader.com trading community blog. You can see the post here.
The 500 Dollar Cup of Coffee
Sometimes no matter how perfect everything is, your location, your strategy, your trade setup, etc., something beyond your control goes wrong. Well, in this case one could argue that I was in total control because if I didn't step out to get that darn cup of coffee .... Well, let's just say it was a very expensive cup of coffee!
