Rough Notes – the historically-based Canadian musical in which the Rurals meet the Royals. It’s the eve of our nation entering WWII – another great horror, so soon after the FIRST… and 3 diverse Canadian couples at different ages and stages are about to be vastly affected. Here the Scottish, French and Wolastoqiyik/Maliseet-tribe rural peoples of New Brunswick are juxtaposed with the real-life representative Royals, combating a spy and an undercover female journalist at Rideau Hall, Ottawa. The joys and sorrows of this tense time in our history are also witnessed from the eyes of a 7-year-old boy, the daughter of the first woman of colour to graduate from the University of New Brunswick, and world- famous author John Buchan, Governor General of Canada - who has only a month to live and in which to leave his final legacy to the arts, to the environment, and to humanity.

🐎 Project Audion turns to Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol." There were many adaptations during the Golden Age of Radio, but one of the cleverest and most charming was when it was transplanted to the Old West for a Christmas episode of the Jimmy Stewart western "The Six Shooter" which aired from 1953 to 1954. The story of Eben and Jake - and how and why Stewart's character Britt Ponsett tells it - makes for a delightful half hour.
Our cast for this recreation is our most wide-ranging in both location and age:
BRITT PONSETT: Ric Spiegel, TX
JOHNNY CARVILLE: Austin Mosher, NY
EBEN SCROOGE: Stanley Dyrector, CA

A shy young poet goes to a house party at Crome hellbent on wooing his hosts’ niece, only to find that a dashing, if jaded, painter has arrived first. Spurned by the woman he ardently pursues, Denis grapples with the fickleness of desire and discovers that one’s true soulmate may be hiding in clear view.
VIRGINITY is a universal story of first love amid alienation. Huxley, writing in the aftermath of the Great War, depicts a generation rent by loss and primed to break free of social constraints. Amid a crossfire of wayward pheromones and barbed repartee, a young deaf woman emerges as the mute voice of wisdom and our poet protagonist's redeeming love.

⛵️“Little Ships”⛵️
⭐️A Musical by Danny McAvoy
⛵️Set in 1940s the play follows the lives and adventures of Darragh and Sinéadh Geoghegan and their children Fergal, Néall, Meadhbh and Siobhán, and includes Darragh’s Irish father Sean Geoghegan and Sinéadh’s Irish mother Mary Rafferty, all of whom live together in Brixham, Devon, England. Darrah calls his children his “Little Ships” due to their familiarity with everything to do with the sea.
Darragh had a French mother, now deceased, and has a family in France including a brother called Didier Geoghegan, whose wife is called Cécile, and a sister called Émilie Bertrand.
Darrah returns from the Spanish Civil War where he fought against Franco in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade. He feels compelled to join his French family to continue his fight against fascism at the start of the second World war. He goes to France and whilst there he is reunited with his childhood sweetheart Claudine.
As a member of the French 1st Army, Darrah is trapped in Lille defending the allied retreat to Dunkirk.
Darrah’s children, all of whom have spent their lives in and on the sea, sail their boats to Calais to bring their father home.
They stop off at some friends in Cornwall who join them on their quest. Their now three boats are then intercepted by the British Royal Navy and escorted to Ramsgate and become a part of the flotilla of little ships that go to Dunkirk to evacuate the British and French armies that are trapped there.
At Dunkirk one of the Geoghegan boats breaks off from the flotilla and sails up the canals and rivers from Dunkirk to Lille and, after some difficulties, brings home a wounded Darrah to Brixham.
The family is happily reunited and Darragh recovers. There is an unexpected twist at the end.
The play opens and closes in 2020 with Siobhán telling her great grandchildren a bedtime story about her great adventure saving her Dadda.

Ada Lovelace (1815-1852) was the world’s first computer programmer. She made extraordinary, fantastically-ahead-of-her-time predictions about what computers could achieve for people. She even predicted our digital age.
A celebrity from the moment of her birth, Ada was the only legitimate daughter of the great poet, lover and revolutionary Lord Byron. Now, Ada’s remarkable life is brought to the stage for the first time as an exciting, thought-provoking, two-act musical by librettist and lyricist James Essinger. It tells the story of a woman who was indeed a genius, visionary and feminist, and whose life is one of the great tales of the history of science. Ada’s Algorithm - The Ada Lovelace Musical is packed with soaring melodies that unforgettably dramatise the life of one of the most remarkable women of history.

New Musical Monday - "Pro-Choice on Mental Health"
Thornhill Theatre Space presents episode 8 of our series New Musical Monday with selections from the musical “Pro-Choice on Mental Health” by Peter Dizozza.
#TTSNewMusicalMon
1995. Flirting with mental illness from a safe distance, East Village entertainer, Priam, accepts an offer for free psychiatry at Bellevue.
His assigned psychiatrist, cognizant of the imminent expiration of Priam's health insurance coverage, offers him a retreat at The Four Winds Clinic, in Somers, New York ("You're just there to observe.").
There he meets a beautiful woman, Lilith, recently divorced, who promptly engages him to be married.
He enjoys the social ride and modulates its intensity by taking refuge in solitude or simply elsewhere. He meets people from all walks of life, particularly a street walking con artist who horrifies him by fulfilling his requests.
He yearns for a simple place where he can explore his ghastly imagination in safety, ie, upon THE MEADOW. Both Priam and Lilith break free of their confinement.
Please note that the top psychiatrists at Four Winds and elsewhere are so empowering, attentive and supportive that they find prescribing medication for their patients rarely necessary. They are willing to put in the time and effort to be pro-choice on mental health.

"Pro-Choice on Mental Health" consists of the seven song cycle, monologues and the Mini-Play, "You are What You Eat."

New Musical Monday - "TREESON, an Eco Musical"
Thornhill Theatre Space presents episode 5 of our series New Musical Monday with selections from the musical “TREESON: An Eco Musical” with book, music and lyrics by G. Victoria Campbell and arrangements by Joseph Purdue.
#TTSNewMusicalMon
TREESON: An Eco-Musical follows the journey of a conflicted logging heir as he seeks redemption and purpose after witnessing the damage inflicted on the environment by his father’s company. Set in the Pacific Northwest, the musical draws heavily from traditional American genres to create astonishingly unique character musical profiles. There’s Western fused with blues in Don’s numbers like “Dynasty” and soulful jazz in The Elements’ “The State of Things.” There’s percussive folk in the Activists’ “War in the Woods” and a soaring indigenous soundscape in Terra’s “Take Over.” Altogether, the soundtrack triumphs as an artfully curated union of Americana music full of inspiration and hope.
This is a love story between humanity and Earth. Will everyone play their part before it’s too late?

New Musical Monday - "Frankenstein"
Thornhill Theatre Space presents episode 4 of our series New Musical Monday. Join us on February 8th as we present selections from the musical “Frankenstein”. Based on Mary Shelly’s classic novel, with book, music and lyrics by Eric Sirota
#TTSNewMusicalMon
FRANKENSTEIN, is a two-act sweeping, romantic musical about the human need for love and companionship.
Published in 1818, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein just celebrated its bicentennial year, and this musical honors its source material.
Having lost his mother at a young age, Victor Frankenstein seeks to end human mortality and arrogantly enters territory beyond his control. While he enjoys unconditional love from Elizabeth, he grants none to his creation.
“..it is a success of a show that should be considered something great in the realm of musical theatre.”
-BroadwayWorld
“An ambitious theater piece that is refreshingly buoyed up by its music”
-Theater Scene

New Musical Monday - "Alexander"
Thornhill Theatre Space presents episode 3 of our series New Musical Monday. Join us on February 1st as we present selections from the musical “Alexander” Book and Lyrics by Wendy Waters and Music by Ian Camilleri and Wendy Waters
#TTSNewMusicalMon
ALEXANDER is a book musical based on the life of Alexander the Great. The map of Alexander’s quest is well-known, less well-known is the map of his inner journey from inspired conqueror determined to unite the world under the banner of Democracy to the disillusioned narcissist who came to believe his own hype that he was a God and therefore invincible.
In this musical Alexander is seen through the eyes of the people closest to him, his mother Olympias whose ambition found traction in her genius son, Hephastion, his first great love and 2IC, Bagoas the gentle and wise houseboy whose loyalty was absolute and finally his wife, Roxanne who longed for his unrequited love.
The show is a fusion of ancient and modern dress and times. The overall statement is my strong belief that all wars are senseless and all empires crumble.
New Musical Monday - "Do You Remember Me?"

The story is influenced by Governments taking children away from their parents to be assimilated into the European Culture in church/state run schools in Australia and Canada and the Magdalene Laundries in Ireland, where girls and young women deemed to be not normal, were forced into working and adapting to the Catholic faith.
Do You Remember Me tells the story of two children taken from their parents and their attempt to escape.
An exciting mix of songs ranging from rock to acoustic to haunting ballads, Do You Remember Me? has something for everyone, while highlighting issues that many people have no awareness of.
