The RaiderVet podcast is back and better than ever! We sit down to review the summer with one of our newest hosts, Rachel Jones from the Class of 2027, as well as our special guests from DVM Loading!

We're here with the final episode of the season! Patrick sits down to talk the TC3R with Dr. Klementina Fon Tracer and Dr. Fernanda Rosa as we conclude season 4.

It's that time of the semester again! It's time for our Raiderpups (and kitties!) to find their furever homes! Dr. Trista Mills sits down with Patrick to give us the inside scoop on our Spring Adoption event.

Brighton White is back and better than ever! We kept the basketball talk to a minimum but don't worry, there's still something for everyone here. Buckle up for this because we're not quite sure where it's going either. 

We're a third of the way through the semester, time to check in on the first-years! The first exam has come and gone and it's time to see how everyone fared. It's a class of 2026 podcast with Julianna Norrell sitting down with Makala Fussell and Brianna Furman to get the update we've all been waiting for.

He's the sheep and goat guy who also happens to do everything else! Dr. Jackson's extensive knowledge over multiple species and industries makes him a valuable asset to students and our school. From sheep to horse judging to the masked rider program, he's truly done it all! Listen in to this podcast as we get a small glimpse into Dr. Jackson's time at Texas Tech and his diverse career.

Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine just got a little bigger! We kick off this season with two new students from the class of 2026. Patrick Guerrero sits down with Alexandria Laker and Julianna Norrell to discuss orientation and the first week of classes (as well as an exciting Sod Poodles game).  They walk us through everything from the interview to the first week and give a bit of perspective from the new class. Here's to another great year RaiderVets! 

It's a full on student takeover for our second season finale. Patrick Guerrero will sit down with students Ashleigh Patridge, and Bennett Folsom after a long week of finals to talk about their experiences during their first year here at the Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine (don't worry, we recorded this weeks ago, they're enjoying their summer right now). They will discuss topics such as study habits, past experiences leading up to school, and some advice for incoming and prospective students.

Did you know the veterinary school also has many postgraduate students pursuing a Masters or PhD? Two of these postgraduate students, Sara Beth Boggan and Savana Everhart, sit down with Pippa to discuss the process of creating a PhD program and the challenges of completing it. They will discuss their favorite things about the program including their mentors, colleagues, and the outdoors scene of the Texas panhandle.

Everything is bigger in Texas, and there are people in the state working on making sure fish are added to this list. Donovan Patterson from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department discusses with Clayton the work of the Texas Fresh Water Fisheries Center, including reproduction programs for increasing the size of Bass. Learn about good places to fish, research in aquaculture, and discover the location of a semi-secret center where you can observe and learn about fish species endemic to Texas.

This extra long, season finale episode coincides with the end of the first semester of the veterinary school. You can listen to the past hosts (Pippa, Jennifer, Kelly, Anthony (T.J.), Clayton, and for the first time Michael) discuss their careers, their lives as students, and their experience with the Texas tech University School of Veterinary Medicine. This episode focuses on the application process for the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine. Kelly interviews the Director of Admissions and Student Services, and Amarillo native, Sarah Innis. They discuss the reasons for our selection process, and the behind the scenes work done to ensure we admit students that meet our school's mission. After that, Anthony (TJ) sits down with two of the first generation Raidervets in the making: Val Trevino and Dylan Bostick. They will give you a better idea on what the application process is like from an applicant's point of view, and what could make a future applicant a good candidate. They will also discuss their experience in the first semester of this program.

In this episode two of the power couples of the veterinary school sit down to discuss various aspects of the profession. First Pippa interviews Dr. John Gibbons, her colleague and husband, and discuss different aspects of research including benefits to producers, founding and student involvement. After that, Kelly sits down with economist Dr. Ryan Williams (her husband) on the importance of introducing veterinary students to concepts such as economic health and practice finances. Ryan flips the script on his better half and interviews Dr. Kelly Williams on the importance of emotional health and how we are making sure our students are in the best mental health possible during vet school.

Moving on from the introduction of our deans, this episode features a very important part of our school: local veterinarians and clinical partners. Both of these professionals, Dr. Kent Glenn and Dr Janey Powe, have extensive experience and have moved from one aspect to veterinary medicine to another. Find out more about shelter medicine with Clayton and Dr. Glenn, and about the management of veterinary clinics with Jennifer and Dr. Powe.

We continue the introduction of the Deans of the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine. This time the Associate Dean for Research, Dr. Annelise Nguyen, sits down with Pippa to discuss research and the veterinary school, the similarities and differences of cooking and research, and traveling.

The second episode of the Raidervet Podcast features the Associate Dean of Students and Academic Affairs of the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. John Dascanio, and the Chair of the TTU Department of Veterinary Sciences, Dr. Michael Ballou. Subjects discussed include recommendations for current and aspiring students of the vet school, collaboration with the TTU main campus, and more.
