On this episode, the Chicks are checking for Uncle Snoop's collabo with the 19 Crimes Brand. We are sampling the Cali Rosé, Cali Blanc, and Cali Gold. This isn't our first time trying out one of Snoop's wines under this brand, but it will be our first time trying these selections. Stay tune to see the results of our review.

In this episode we are reviewing 3 Cabernet Franc: Lamadrid (Argentina), Oops, and Laroque. Cabernet Franc is one of the most popular grape varietals in the world. It is one of the two parents of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Carménère. Popularity was first earned in the Loire Valley in the 1700s when it was known by its original name, Bouchet. It continued gaining popularity in America with its best success taking place in California in the Napa Valley, Washington State, and Oregon.

Subtopic: Who You Pleasin'

On this episode we focus on 3 Hob Nob wines: Pinot Noir, Red Blend, and Chardonnay. This wine is produced in the south region of France. The most interesting thing about Hob Nob is their branding. They go to great lengths to appeal to a younger generation of wine consumers. The term HobNob refers to people drinking to one another, clinking glasses, rubbing elbows, celebrating various moments and milestones🥂

Subtopic: Mo' Better Makes It Mo' Better💥

In episode 2 of Season 4, we discuss Michael David Winery's Freakshow wines. We are only featuring 3 of the wines; however, the collection is a series of 6 wines with circus-themed images adorning the bottles inspired by elaborate touring attractions like Barnum and Bailey Circus. Similar to the 19 Crimes labels, Freakshow is as much about brand interaction as the wine. Consumers are encouraged to download a custom app that will reveal a series of face filters, allowing you to become one of Freakshow's outlandish characters.

Subtopic: Does your sign properly define you - Looking into astrology 🌞

We are opening Season 4 👏🏽 with Sangiovese wines! Sangiovese is a dry, light to medium-bodied red wine that tips towards higher levels of mouth-watering acidity and tighter tannins. The rich flavors range from rustic to fruity, depending on where and how the vines are managed. For fruit, expect cherry, plum, and red currant, as well as smoky and earthy herbaceousness.

Subtopic: While catching up with the cast, we venture into the sensitive conversation of the Rittenhouse, McMicheals, and Bryan trials. How the presiding judges differ and how these tragedies affected the community.

In this episode we discuss Apothic wine. The wines of Apothic were inspired by Apotheca, a mysterious place where wine was blended and store in 13th century Europe. Winemaker, Debbie Juergenson, continues to challenge convention by crafting bold, captivating Apothic blends. From vintage to vintage, the character and flavor of the individual varietals guide the shape of each blend.

South Africa has a winemaking history that spans over 350 years. The first vines were planted in South Africa by Jan van Riebeeck in 1655 and it has been established as a wine growing country since the late 17th century.

France is the top exporter of wine and the country's second most important export. More than the variety of grape, French wine is about the terroir, which factors in the ultimate bouquet and taste of the wine. The terroir part of the label on the bottle tells you where the wine is from.

Mendoza lies the heart of Argentina's wine country. Home to more than 1,200 wineries, Mendoza produces nearly 2/3 of all Argentina's wine. It is considered the most important wine region in Argentina and home to nearly 395,000 acres of vineyards. In this episode we sample 3 wines from Mendoza.

Petite Sirah is the American name for the Durif grape. It is a distinct grape variety grown mainly in California and is the petite version of Syrah or Shiraz. As you will later learn during this episode, it is the offspring of Syrah and Peloursin. Peloursin is nearly extinct and found in only a few places in the French-Alps.

In this episode, we discuss Crémants. Crémant is a group of sparkling wines made with the same technique as Champagne, but from outside of the Champagne region. Taste heavily depends on the region.

On this episode, we are sampling an Italian export wine as famous as pasta and espresso called Chianti. For many years, Chianti was known as a sub-par wine, primarily produced with Sangiovese grapes in the Chianti region of Tuscany, Italy. 

Sampling: Bell'Agio, DaVinci, and Cavaliere D'oro with our special guest, Rebelle London; one of Atlanta's custom fashion designers.

Viognier, being the rare white French grape that it is, was nearly extinct in the 60's until the 90's hit and it became popular in the United States. California was responsible for making Viognier fashionable wine.

On this episode, we sample 3 Viognier's from the California appellation: Cline Family Cellars, McManis Family, and White Knight🥂

Subtopic: Micromanaging in the workplace, is it effective?

On this episode we entered into Bordeaux, France to sample a few of their selections. South of the Garonne River is the left bank and north of the river is the right bank. On the left side, red wines are more tannic, acidic, fresher, and have a greater aging potential. On the right side, wines are softer, rounder, heavier and plumper.  Chances are we sampled wines from both sides of the river in this episode.

Subtopic: Can you get seriously involved with someone that roommates with a person they were once romantically involved with????

In this episode, we dabbled in an oldie, but goodie that's been around since the 60's. We thank winemaker, Davis Bynum for the creation of this brand and salute winemaker, Jennifer Wall for expanding our options when she joined the team in 1995🧚🏽‍♂️

A growing number of celebrities are getting into the wine business. Mass-produced celebrity wines are commonly sold at big-box stores and grocery chains. When a new celebrity wine hits the market, there are usually a lot of requests for it. Retailers and distributors say that while consumers do seek out celebrity wines, it's quality that guarantees repeat sales. If the wines are solid, people will come back for more. If not, a fan will buy a bottle and then be done. On this episode, we take a peek into what MJB, SJP, Train and Nicki Minaj have to offer with their wines.

Domestic violence is a common occurrence in all communities and a topic we rarely discuss until it's too late. We are so grateful to you both, for your willingness and unselfishness to be open about a time in your lives that was traumatic and continuing to heal from. Sean and Adrianne, what you did during this episode was not only therapeutic for you and so many others, but we believe it will give people the courage to speak out. We love you and we commend you on your strength.

Subtopic: Why is it so many women are building men up for the next woman while he's damaging her for the next man🤷🏽‍♀️

On this episode, we are indulging in Japan's national beverage 🗣SAKE‼️Our selections are TYKU Cucumber, TYKU Junmai Ginjo Black,  Gekkeikan Sake and Takara Plum. 

TYKU Cucumber, TYKU Junmai Ginjo Black and Gekkeikan Sake are all from the Junmai class. If the bottle is labeled "Junmai," it is an indication that the sake is prepared by the original and traditional method of using ONLY rice and water or rice, water and koji.

Small amounts of distilled alcohol can be used in the final stages of brewing which is why Takara Plum stands apart from the other three.

Traditionally, Sake was served warm, but now a days, take your pick: Kan (hot), Hiya (room-temp) or Reishu (cold). But be careful, overheating or overchilling can ruin the aroma.

This week our local package shop gifted us with some of their top sellers. Fairly new to the Yellow Tail brand, we sampled the low calorie Pure Bright line consisting of Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. This line may strike an interest if you are counting your wine calories and watching that waistline. Additionally, we sampled one of our team members favorite Moscato by Poggio.
