Victor Wembanyama To The Spurs Was Destined To Happen

On this episode of the Two Shots Podcast, we will be discussing the Spurs getting the number one overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. Joining us on this episode will be Noah Magaro-George of Air Alamo and host of the Alamo City Limits Podcast.

Sharing our reaction along with fan reactions to the Spurs getting the number-one pick in the upcoming draft and what landing one Victor Wembanyama means for the team’s future. Noah will also share his thoughts on what his expectations are for the upcoming season.

The upcoming NBA Summer League will be different this year as the media will no doubt descend on Las Vegas to see Victor Wembanyama play.

We will also be sharing our thoughts on what a future starting lineup could look like with Victor Wembanyama.

How many nationally televised games will the Spurs have this season with Victor Wembanyama on the team? Will the Spurs once again play on Christmas Day? Both me and Noah will share out thoughts on this.

With the Spurs landing the number one overall pick in the NBA Draft and if the teams draft’s Victor Wembanyama will San Antonio become a free agent destination once again?

Let’s talk about DeJounte Murray and the now infamous phrase where he said the Spurs were going to lose for the next fifteen years. Noah and I will think of what could have been had and how DeJounte Murray being traded helped players like Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell get more minutes and become better players.

In closing, we will talk about the NBA playoffs and share our thoughts on the firing of three NBA head coaches with winning records.

What are the Spurs chances of getting a top pick in the NBA draft after losing the coin toss?

What are the Spurs chances of getting a top pick in the NBA draft after losing the coin toss?

Two Shost Podcast Ep.137 - What are the Spurs chances of getting a top pick in the NBA draft after losing the coin toss?

On this episode of the Two Shots Podcast, we will be joined by Paul Garcia host of the Spurscast, and Benjamin Bornstein who is a writer for Project Spurs. We will discuss the San Antonio Spurs being approved to play three games away from the AT&T Center and what this means for the team's future here in San Antonio. The Spurs organization looks to expand its brand beyond San Antonio and into Mexico as the city council approved the team to play three games away from the At&t Center for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

Paul Garica, Ben Borstein, and I will also talk about Spurs Sports and Entertainment released a timeline for their massive $500 million practice facility that is set to open in August of 2023, with a ribbon cutting ceremony to be held in September. The center will be open to the public in October and the Spurs restaurant that is not expected to open until January 2025. Spurs fans can now rest assured that their team is here to stay in San Antonio and can look forward to having access to a new practice facility. RC Buford, the General Manager of the Spurs, has reassured fans that the team will not be moving to Austin, and has made it clear that the Spurs are committed to its San Antonio home.

With the Spurs losing the coin toss to the Houston Rockets the team will now finish with the third-worst record in the NBA but how does this affect the team's chances of landing that number one pick in the upcoming NBA Draft? Well, honestly losing the coin toss was not that big of a deal as both the Spurs, Rockets and Pistons all still have a 14% chance of landing that coveted top pick. The worst the Spurs could do is fall to that 7th spot in the NBA Draft but the odds of that happening are 7%. The Spurs have better odds of getting that 5th spot at 14.8% than landing the 1st overall pick by only a few percentage points. We will discuss the team's percentages in more detail on this episode of the Two Shots Podcast.

Did you see the latest Spurs merchandise labeled La Cultura that was made available to the fans this week? It's a blend of the culture of the Alamo City with Aqua Frescas and a bit of the Fiesta theme along with a Spurs Coyote Pinata. From T-Shirts to Caps, this limited edition merchandise is always a fan favorite here in San Antonio. We will discuss the pricing for the La Cultura merchandise as T-Shirts start at $39.99 and Caps at $34.99 are these prices too high? In San Antonio, you can go to the Southside or any local Flea Market and buy a bootleg T-Shirt for about $10.00 - $15.00 that will look just as good if not better. We will discuss this and end the show by talking to Paul about his latest episode of the Spurscast as he Collin Reid will be Breaking Down The Team Salary Going Into The Off Season. Listen to the latest Spurscast episode on Youtube and on all major podcast platforms.

Is it too soon for a Victor Wembanyama Mural In San Antonio?

Is it too soon for a Victor Wembanyama Mural In San Antonio?

In this, all-new episode of the Two Shots Podcast we will be joined by our guest the one and only Jeff Garcia the lead Spurs writer for Kens-5 San Antonio. We will discuss the latest Spurs mural created by local San Antonio artist Nike Soupe, featuring Victor Wembanyama who is expected to be the #1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft. Is this too soon as the Spurs season has not come to an end? Jeff Garcia and Joe Garcia will share their thoughts on this as they both found this to be humorous, as they think it might be tempting fate, as the Spurs don't yet know if they will actually be able to get the number one pick.

Despite the team's back-to-back losses to the Dallas Mavericks and the Memphis Grizzlies the Spurs still remained competitive and they look to recover and get a win against DeJounte Murray and the Atlanta Hawks. Both Jeff Garcia and Joe Garcia will discuss what kind of reception DeJounte Murray will receive from the home crowd after some controversial comments on the All The Smoke Podcast. You can see what DeJounte Murray had to say to the media when he was asked about his comments and what it means to come back home and play at the At&t Center by reading Jeff Garcia's latest article on the Kens-5 website.

Jeff Garcia breaks news and hints that while the Spurs City Edition Fiesta-themed jerseys are coming to an end there might still be hope that the fan-favorite Fiesta-colored jerseys could make a comeback in a way fans did not expect. I will also ask Jeff Garcia if he will be purchasing his Spurs fiesta jersey before the trilogy comes to an end. I will also ask Jeff Garcia what were his first impressions of new fan favorite Sandro Mamukelashvili aka "Mamu" and if he will be investing in a Mamukelashvili jersey and his reaction might surprise you. In closing both me and Jeff Garcia will geek out a little and talk about the screener I was of John Wick 4 and Jeff will give us his recommendation for a new Marvel series on Disney+.

Puro Exit 7 Edition Of The Two Shots Podcast

In this all-new episode of the Two Shots Podcast, we will be joined by two guests, John Dyer, and the infamous Spursnandez. Little known fact that Richard AKA "Spurnandez" and John Dyer grew up together in the same neighborhood, Marbach, which used to be part of the city limits back in the day.  We will talk about how things have changed and how there is a lot of love for the San Antonio Spurs in the area. We will also discuss the bootleg t-shirts that were often seen up and down the roads like Marbach and Military Drive, referencing popular designs like the Selena and Big Papa ones. In closing, we will also discuss how the city has many different pockets of culture in it and that this is what makes San Antonio so great.  The conversation revolves around the camaraderie felt between Spurs fans in San Antonio, regardless of where they live. They mention how the city celebrated the Spurs championships and there was no violence just a mutual love and admiration for the Spurs. Lastly, they reflect on the good times and how it was a once proud dynasty.

Spurs Snap 16 Game Losing Streak & Shining The Spotlight On Rookie Blake Wesley

Spurs Snap 16 Game Losing Streak & Shining The Spotlight On Rookie Blake Wesley

On this, all-new episode of the Two Shots Podcast we will be joined by guest Carolina Teague host of the League Of Her Own podcast, and Jazz Tamir who covers the team for Project Spurs. The San Antonio Spurs snapped a franchise record 16-game losing streak and picked up their first win of the season after being down by 10 points, making them 1-45 when down by double digits. In February, the Spurs went 6-26 on the road, 6-32 against the west, 1-8 on the rodeo road trip, and 13-46 as underdogs. Jazz Tamir commented on the Spurs' victory and believes that although it was helped by Utah missing some shots, the Spurs defense was lacking in the first half. Keldon Johnson was not pleased with the team's victory over the Jazz and believes there is still work to do. Despite the win, the season has been difficult and demoralizing for the team and its fans. Carolina Teague hopes the team can build upon this win and play more consistent basketball to finish off the season.

Spurs leading scorers

Keldon Johnson -  25 PTS / 4 REB / 3 AST

Doug McDermott – 19 PTS /  3 REB

Jeremy Sochan – 13 PTS / 6 REB / 6 AST

Devonte Graham – 12 PTS / 1 Reb / 3 AST

The highlight of the night for the Spurs - Rookie Blake Wesley had one his best game of the season as he finished the game with 9 PTS on 5 shots, with 6 REB, 2AST, 2 fouls, 3 steals, and 2 turnovers. (H/T Paul Garcia via Twitter)

Coach Pop has hinted at Devin Vassell possibly returning to the court on March 2nd when the team plays it’s the first game back at the At&t Center since the Rodeo Road Trip. The question? Will Devin Vassell’s return make the team more competitive?

Jake Paul Vs Tommy Fury fight reaction and thoughts.

The San Antonio Brahmas got their first win of the season this past Sunday against the Orlando Guardians 30-12. The Brahmans will next play the Houston Roughnecks this coming Sunday, March 5th at 7:00 PM and the game can be seen on ESPN2.

On this all-new episode of the Two Shots Podcast, our guests will be Josh Paredes NBA editorial director for Fansided, and Noah Magaro-George editor-in-chief for Air Alamo.

Red McCombs passed away recently and Spurs fans took to social media to thank the San Antonio icon for bringing the Spurs to the city and leaving a legacy that will endure for future generations. We will share some thoughts on Red McCombs and thank him for bringing professional sports to San Antonio.

With 23 games left in the season while the team is in the midst of a 14-game losing streak should the Spurs try to win some games to close out the season? While winning games could hurt their draft odds, losing could create bad habits that could continue into next season.  We will discuss this article on Fansided entitled - "3 Questions the San Antonio Spurs must answer after the all-star break" and you can read the full article on the Fansided website

We will also discuss this article by Noah Magaro-George entitled “Flash or Fluke: Can Jeremy Sochan develop a reliable midrange jumper?” You can see Noah’s article on the Fansided website

Per Jeff Mc Donald of the Express-News Devin Vassell has progressed to 3-on-3 workouts.  Do we expect Devin Vassell will play some games before the season ends or should the team just shut him down until next season?  You can see the video of Devin Vassell on Jeff McDonald's Twitter account  @JMcDonald_SAEN  and make sure to give him a follow.

Spurs Making Moves At The Trade Deadline, NBA All Star Weekend & Superbowl Talk

In this episode of the Two Shots Podcast, our guest will be Spurs analyst Noah Magato, the new editor-in-chief of Air Alamo. We will discuss the various changes that came ahead of the trade deadline, including the surprising trade of Jakob Poeltl to the Toronto Raptors. Although some Spurs fans were expecting it, the trade still came as a shock, and Noah explains why it was a smart move for both the team and Jakob Poeltl. We will also talk about the Spurs trade of Josh Richardson to the Pelicans in exchange for Devonte' Graham and four second-round picks. With these trades the Spurs have a total of 23 draft picks until 2029, 13 of which are first-round picks.

If you are a Spurs fan who watches the game through Bally Sports plus you might want to keep a close eye on the company as it was announced that Bally Sports is expected to file bankruptcy next week. Bally Sports filing bankruptcy is a move to hopefully keep the channels in operation as the company is reportedly 8.6 billion dollars in debt. What does this mean for those of us who watch Spurs games and other Regional Sports through Bally Sports Plus? We will discuss this and more with Noah Magaro George.

Two Shots Podcast Ep. 131: Jeremy Sochan Named To The Jordan Rising Stars

Much to the surprise of Spurs fans around Alamo City, we learned early yesterday that Spurs rookie sensation Jeremy Sochan was named to the Jordan Rising Stars along with other players including Paolo Banchero, Jaden Ivey, and Jalen Duren. With such exciting news in what has been a dismal season for Spurs fans, we will discuss what this means for Jeremy Sochan and the team. Joining us on this all-new episode of the Two Shots Podcast will be guests Paul Garcia, Benjamin Bornstein, Wesley Perkins, and Rudy Campos Jr. host of Sweep The League Podcast.

What has Jeremy Sochan done over the last seven games with the Spurs? We will take a look at his stats and what the numbers tell us about the overall growth and production of one Jeremy Sochan. We will also be discussing the upcoming NBA draft and which prospects Spurs fans should be keeping an eye on. We will also present the idea that maybe the Spurs should trade down in the draft if they don't get that first or second pick and look to fulfill some needs on the team rather than draft the best available player. We will end the show by giving our Superbowl predictions o which team we believe will win it all.

Keldon Johnson Breaks His Shooting Slump

Spurs Win – The Spurs stop the losing streak at eleven games and defeat the Rockets by a final score of 118-109. Spurs Cap Space Situation After The Dejounte Murray Trade

The San Antonio Spurs have roughly twenty-two million dollars of cap space and have been talked about as a team that could possibly be involved in a three-team deal. The Spurs could take on a bad contract to pick up more first-round picks or do nothing and have cap space to pay some of their rookies who will be coming off their contracts after the end of next season. We will also talk if Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, and Jakob Poeltl fit the team's current timeline.

Spurs News and Notes

Today the Spurs announced they have signed Dominick Barlow to a two-way contract which means the team has one more two-way roster spot available. The Spurs have yet to officially sign Gorgui Dieng but expect them to make that announcement shortly.  The big news of the day was the Spurs officially unveiled their classic jerseys and we will share the fan reactions as well as our reactions. The rumor that was released by Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report today was Spurs longtime assistant coach Chip Engelland will be leaving the team at the conclusion of his contract at the end of the upcoming season.

NBA Breaking News CP3 & Kawhi Out Along With Spurs Talk.

On this all-new episode of the Two Shots Podcast, we will talk about the latest NBA breaking news involving both CP3 & Kawhi Leonard. We will also be talking about Becky Hammon as she will be interviewing for both the Portland Trailblazers and Orlando Magic head coaching positions. Was DeJounte Murray snubbed? He Tweeted out a response to being snubbed by the NBA for The All-Defensive team with laughing so hard he was crying emoji.  We ask the question? Was DeJounte really snubbed or was this merely the product of a mediocre Spurs team that finished 10th in the Western Conference with a 33-39 record. The NBA Draft Lottery is next week and our good friend Josh Paredes just wrote an article for Air Alamo where he ran a simulator 100 times to see where the Spurs would end up in the lottery? His simulator findings were along with who the team would pick. You can read Josh Parde's full article over at Air Alamo entitled " San Antonio Spurs: 100 NBA Draft Lottery Simulations For The Hopeful Fans".  Let's talk about the NBA playoffs. The Bucks blew a 17 PT lead to lose game 5 to the Nets? Will this be another missed opportunity for the Bucks and are they done in 6? Chris Paul will be out for an indefinite period of time after he has tested positive for Covid-19. He has entered the Covid-19 health and safety protocols. How will this affect the Suns who looked to be on track for an NBA Finals appearance? Charles Barkley's rivalry between himself and San Antonio women has come to an end. We learned that Charles Barkley is not allowed to mock the women of San Antonio on “Inside The NBA” anymore. He was told to stop body-shaming women per the show's producers. We will share our thoughts on this decade-old rivalry. Our guests for today's episode are Rudy Campos Jr. host of Sweep The League Podcast, Josh Paredes writer for Air Alamo & Project Spurs along with Noah Magaro-George writer for Pounding The Rock.
