9 Components of Emotional Health
Emotional wellness is a very important aspect of our overall health and wellbeing. It involves taking the time to be aware of your emotional state, being able to name and process your feelings in productive ways. Of course bad things will happen in everyone’s life and there will be times when we experience negative emotions, but there are many strategies that can be part of optimal emotional wellness. Using strategies to deal with and move through difficult emotions is part of developing resilience. Today, we’ll review 9 components of emotional health.

- You vs. I Statements - this YouTube video briefly compares "you" statements and "I" statements to demonstrate how it changes the way your message is received and how restorative the conversation can be.
- Brene Brown's website - this website features a collection of videos, articles, podcasts and other tools to assist you with navigating and naming emotions, especially while working through feelings of shame, guilt, vulnerability, courage and empathy.
- Psychology Today - this website provides an easy way to look up local mental health professionals who specialize in whatever you're dealing with (ex. depression, anxiety, gender identity issues, relationship issues, etc.)
Expressing Gratitude
Learn how expressing gratitude promotes social wellness, spiritual wellness and emotional wellness. Find out how you can start expressing gratitude more easily in order to improve your overall wellbeing, strengthen your relationships with others and make it easier for you to feel grateful more regularly. After listening to this episode, your action item for the day will be to write a letter to someone, expressing your gratitude for an experience or thing they provided you with.
