Belong - Pastor Louis Fife - 7th February 2021
Belong. This is what every heart longs to know. To belong is a great privilege, we all desire to belong with no walls, no barrier or prejudice. But to belong with acceptance, forgiveness and love. Jesus himself invites us to belong, firstly, to himself and secondly, to his body,(other believers). This is such an honour. The invitation is always open and always drawing you and me to come closer. So, what can you do to help your sense of belonging becoming a reality? What prayer, what love, what gift, what sacrifice, can we offer to you? What delight can we encourage you in as you draw near to Christ? Friends, you are called firstly and chiefly to BELONG. God bless.

Welcome to this week’s message - Believe. In this message, Pastor Louis begins to consider what God could do through you and me, his people if we believed more. If we could be inspired to hope, dare, be risky and expect the unexpected. Our prayer is that in 2021 God will lead you to discover his presence in a more significant way. May you and yours be blessed and know the hope of His calling and see the mighty things that God can and will do through His people. God Bless Louis

Our God is an Awesome God - Graeme Goninon.
How important is prayer in times of stress and tragedy? Graeme shares how everyone experiences stress and tragedy, and how in these moments we can ask, why would God allow such things to happen? He reminds us that God can give us peace in our circumstances and has the power to give us triumph in our tragedy. All we need to do is ask.  After all, the power of prayer doesn't depend on the one who makes the prayer, but the one who hears the prayer.

Christmas Eve Service - THE SAVIOUR'S DAY - Louis Fife December 24th 2020
Thank you for joining us in our Christmas Eve service -2020 the service theme was “the Saviour’s day”. In fact, every day is the Saviour’s day to all those who believe. But we must not hold it to ourselves. We must share this message, this great news—an invitation to know Jesus to receive Jesus personally. The Saviour’s day is all about Jesus, in our mess, in our brokenness God made away. In our sin, rebellious ways God made away. We have the greatest message EVER. It must be shared, and it must be celebrated. Our prayer is you can celebrate as we do. May this day be your Saviour’s day an echo of your life transformed? The challenge and responsibility to recognise the saviours day, a self-titled song from the Band, Rend Collective. The Saviour’s day declares that Hope is alive. Love has arrived, and Joy has transpired. Each of these truths will do you good, my friend. May it be well with your soul friend. Merry Christmas and God bless you

THE STUDY OF COLOSSIANS WEEK 12 CHAPTER THREE - LOUIS FIFE – DECEMBER 20TH 2020
This episode has been published and can be heard everywhere your podcast is available. As we continue to look at Colossians this week, we broadly cover chapter three. The highlight here in this chapter is a focus on three areas that will aid us in understanding our battle, our responsibility as believers and followers of God and how to put on our new identity and new person and to put off the old nature. To live life well we need to look to heaven (SEEK UPWARD), look to self (SEEK INWARD) by way of reflection, honestly and evaluation for growth and discipleship and Spiritual growth we need to always look to Christ (SEEK JESUS). God bless you, as you put into practice what God is doing and working in you. I’m sure you will experience Gods life and presence, power flowing in your life. Here a few thoughts to consider; Keep your perspective Kingdom-focused. Repent of anything that is not of Christ in your life. Any sin that has a hold on you. Lean in – look to Jesus, draw on his presence and strength through each situation and for each day. God bless Louis

THE STUDY OF COLOSSIANS WEEK 11 - LOUIS FIFE – DECEMBER 13TH 2020
Welcome to  our study of the book of Colossians chapter TWO. In this week’s message, we continue to focus on what it means to follow Jesus, It is my prayer; you will be greatly encouraged and challenged to recognise God is moving in our midst. He is with you, and He is with me, together we can see what the Lord can do through willing and open, available vessels. Today's message looks to uncover our primary response to Jesus. Through Colossians, Paul was making doubly clear and in no uncertain terms, that Jesus is to be central. He is to be our focus, and He is to be our life.  And this reshaping Paul has in mind was to produce abundant life in and through us as believers. His promise to you! Can I encourage you, will YOU lean in will you push through whatever limitations or barriers that are stopping you to live in the fullness of Life through Jesus Christ! As we unpack these few verses it is clear we observed; Today's focus is on the supremacy of Christ, that Christ Jesus is our all in all. He is all-we need. Consider the following; 1 SUFFICIENCY OF SALVATION 2 SUFFICIENCY OF NEW LIFE 3 SUFFICIENCY OF VICTORY 4 SUFFICIENCY OF POSITION The wrong Christ always leads to weird Christianity… of course… Is there evidence in your life that you are a believer? Someone once said, if all the facts, data and evidence was presented to a judge, would it be absolutely clear you are a follower of Jesus? I rest my case! I believe Paul was preparing the Colosse church to get ready for the next, for what God was about to do, in and through them! Let us be ready Church family! God bless Louis

BAPTISM - KEN COLLYER - 29TH NOVEMBER 2020
Ken shares an up close and personal message on the important topic of baptism. We pray this will be an encouragement to you as you journey on in your faith. Paul addresses baptism with the Colossian church, as he is dealing with attitudes that affect behaviour. The reality of each of us being born into sin and now discover how baptism illustrates for us the important reminder that we are not under the law. We are under a new covenant, a new and better way—helping us to identify with Christ and through Christ in a private and public way of life. God bless you on your journey.

WHAT IS IN THE CAVE? - LOUIS FIFE - 15TH NOVEMBER 2020
Welcome to UBC. In this message, we take a look at the cave experience of David In 1 SAMUEL 22:1-2.  The journey, his challenges and his response to what God was doing in the midst of his life. The cave holds some great insights and truths for each of us. We learn that David found a way to discover God anew in the cave. David found a way to experience God in freshness in the cave. And David found himself again in the cave. What is your cave, your challenge? What obstacle, what difficulty what pain, what hurt, what loss are you facing? But more importantly, what will you take with you into the cave? In your cave experience, this could be your greatest moment to see God. In our cave-like experience may we take with us; Heart - Grace and Vision. May people see the grace in our lives and say, '"what is it that you have" ? May you and I find new ways to share our faith with those around about us. These qualities enabled David to rise above, seeing God change lives through him and prepared David for what's next! I trust this message will bless you! God bless Louis

In this week’s message, we continue to finish chapter one with the final points of what it means to follow Jesus,   It is my prayer; you will be greatly encouraged and challenged to recognise God is moving in our midst. He is with you, and He is with me, together we can see what the Lord can do through willing and open, available vessels. Today's message looks to uncover our primary response to Jesus. THE STUDY OF COLOSSIANS WEEK EIGHT - LOUIS FIFE – NOVEMBER 1ST 2020
Welcome to week eight in our study of the book of Colossians chapter one. In this week’s message, you will hear my heart as the topic of SUFFERING. I pray this message will encourage you and help you to put your trust in Jesus even more. An awkward study, nobody, enjoys talking about particularly in future scenarios. However, Paul desired to include this teaching should be not underestimated. Colossians 1:24-29 Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church. NIV We can all learn from Suffering. Understanding, Suffering can help us to reach a hurting and broken world. Our pain, trails and can help us to understand better the world in which we live. We can identity as Christ-followers how vital and necessary it is for each one of us to present a message of hope. Paul does not negate the promise of Colossians on how to experience the fullness of life in Jesus Christ. Yet, we recognise following Jesus means participating with Christ sufferings. “Therefore, though Christianity does not provide the reason for each experience of pain, it provides deep resources for actually facing suffering with hope and courage rather than bitterness and despair”. Philosopher Peter Kreeft. Whatever your pain, your hurt your anguish, your grief, your loss you heartache, please remind yourself of Gods’’ faithfulness. In  2 Corinthians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort. His promises are for you and your family and the promise that is yet to come and so keep casting your cares upon Him. 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your cares on him because he cares about you. Someone once said, if all the facts, data and evidence was presented to a judge, would it be absolutely clear you are a follower of Jesus? I rest my case! Hello and welcome to our AGM Sunday 2020 message. Why it matters!
Hello and welcome to our AGM Sunday 2020 message.  Why it matters! It is my prayer; you will be greatly encouraged and challenged to recognise God is moving in our midst. He is with you, and He is with me, together we can see what the Lord can do through willing and open, available vessels. Today’s message title is why does it matter? It matters become Jesus died so that no one would miss out on his wonderful offer of eternal life and life forever more. As a body, a church of called out and gathered ones, may you and I realise three simple truth to help us set up an effective model of discipleship and Evangelism, how by merely learning to; LOOK –LISTEN and LOVE. These three behaviours, I believe, can help us immensely learn to see what are the needs saying around about us? What are we hearing what are we listening too? What are we noticing around our community and church family?

All Things are Yours in Christ - Rev David Roffe
This week we continue with our Guest Speaker Reverend David Roffe. In this message, David continues in our study of Colossians chapter one. Today's study is looking at verses 15-18 on the magnificent grace and provision offered to each one of us through Christ. Paul is inviting each one of us to taste and see that the Lord is good, in fact, beyond good. Jesus is, this means, we all get to experience Jesus in a new and fresh way daily. It means all things have been provided and created for us to experience and to encounter Jesus. Jesus is what God considered able to make all things abound to us, all things in Christ, all things, all His fullness, all his grace, all his love. To reconcile you and me to God's forgiveness and ultimately salvation. This message will inspire you to draw nearer to Jesus to walk closely in faith and in, extravagant love. God bless

A People who go without - Ken Collyer
Thanks for joining with us today. In this message, Ken will unpack for us the core truths and understandings we each need to consider as we develop in our faith and through new times. In Luke 1:5-25, we discover that sometimes in our waiting we feel and can experience going without. It can be a challenging and daunting time. Look for God who comes and refreshes us in the renewal of the Holy Spirit, a time of change of expectation. What do we need to give up to more beyond our petty expectations or wants? What changes are you noticing in ways that God may be changing your expectations? Ken will challenge your heart; we are all on a journey, lean in and be blessed.

LET HOPE ARISE PART FOUR - LOUIS FIFE - AUGUST 9TH 2020
LET HOPE Arise. Today is the last in this short series on hope. We pray it has been a fresh and timing reminder of what God has graciously provided for us HOPE! Hope is something we cannot live without, and it affects our moods, our decisions and our dream for tomorrow. And for you and I, we need to show and be diligent in our hope, we need to put hope on. And like David, Psalm 42:5 Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Saviour and my God. # LOOK TO EXPERIENCE THE FULL ASSURANCE OF HOPE! (Walk by faith, Practice Love, put on hope) # RECOGNISE THIS HOPE DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! # HOLD TIGHT ONTO OUR HOPE! Please don’t throw away your hope because it has great reward. Jesus is hope personified. Surrender your life to Jesus. Place your life in his hands. Put your hope and faith in the Christ, the Saviour of the world and don’t look back! Friend, what a fantastic message of life and truth we have before us today, a message of hope… so let us let hope arise! You choose. God bless

And that includes how we see things, how we perceive things and how we see spiritual things in our lament. So be blessed and may you be able to let Hope arise! THIS WEEK IS START-UP WEEK!  As UB family we meet together after 18 weeks of lock downs. In this message, we continue with the theme of “Let Hope Arise” part two. In this message, it is hoped that through the life and challenges that David faced, we too may learn how to not succumb to the trials and testing around us, but instead find our way through with God’s help. How do we do this? We realise God Himself, is the only one ultimately that can help us. We draw near; we pray, which helps to revitalise and refresh our spirit. We Remember Gods promises and blessing more important His abiding Presence. We preach to ourselves. We encourage ourselves In the Lord by talking positive, believing for breakthrough will come. Our prayer for you listening to this is it will bring you hope, to face whatever is before you!

LET HOPE ARISE PART ONE - LOUIS FIFE - 19TH OF JULY 2020
In this message and throughout coronavirus and this challenging times, miss-communication and the like. We can be, rest assured that as we let hope arise in our hearts, we can experience Gods presence throughout this ordeal. We can not afford to miss this wonderful opportunity to encounter Jesus. We learn how important it is to preserve. To see, not only with our eyes but with our hearts. The two disciples on the road to Emmaus did not realise Jesus was with them. While it is comforting to know amid our despair, sadness and shock, Jesus is with you! The greater tragedy here is for these two disciples who were not able to realise He was with them. Our journey can be similar, let’s pay attention to not just what we hear or see but what we know deep in our hearts. I believe this series will challenge you to the core of your being. It’s so easy to miss what Jesus is doing or saying if we focus on the wrong things. My prayer is that you will see that Jesus is closer to you in your season and circumstances today! God bless you.

JESUS STILL IS - WK6 I AM THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE 14TH JUNE 2020
Welcome to week six our ‘I AM' sayings of Jesus series. In this message, you will hear one of the most quoted bible verses in the bible john 14:6, 6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.” This is the challenging message. Jesus offered some last conversations and thoughts before his pending death. He wanted to reassure the disciples and all those who hear (that’s you) that this moment is not the end. That life after this life with Jesus the father and Holy Spirit in heaven. You have received eternal life, what awesome news is that. Jesus is coming back for us! That’s right. For all you have called on his name, who have relationship and committed their lives to Jesus have their place reserved in heaven. Hope this message blesses you.

JESUS STILL IS -WK4 - I AM THE GOOD SHEPHERD MAY 31ST 2020
In this message, the middle of the “I AM sayings of Jesus”, we come to pivotal time, here, we learn of Jesus describing himself as the good Shepherd. We each need to know this one thing, above all that Jesus is, God the Son and Son of Man, and we discover how vital it is to know him as Shepherd. John 10:11 and Psalm 23 also links this thought of Shepherd to understand,  the Lord is my Shepherd. As Dallas Willard describes, in his Book Life without limits, “In other words, I’m in the care of someone else. I’m not in charge. I’ve taken my kingdom and surrendered it to the kingdom of God. I’m living the with-God life now”. We hope this message will bless, as you rediscover the Shepherd of your Soul.

HOW TO BE CERTAIN IN UNCERTAIN TIMES 19TH APRIL 2020 - Louis Fife
This message challenges two core responses of how to walk with God in whatever situation we are facing! The uncertainty of life and circumstances, highlights we are not alone! God is with us. To continue experiencing all that God had for Israel, involved at least two vital responses as they embarked on the unknown and uncertainty of today! One, who are you listening to?  And second, what are you going to do? On these two considerations, God can do anything, and we can go through anything, He is our life, our foundation, our Hope. So be blessed stay safe at this time. Reach out and please don’t go alone.

Easter Sunday He is Risen - Its a new Way! Louis Fife April 12th 2020
Hello, in this message, we look at the reactions and encounters of the disciples because of Jesus on resurrection Sunday. These insights help us to identify how we can also be personally impacted by Easter Sunday. The resurrection is the most significant historical fact we have. Many witnessed Christ's appearances over 11x separate times, to a few and 100s. The historical evidence and extra-biblical records speak into this narrative of the bible and verify and confirm these testimonies. On this day resurrection Sunday, We find that there were five appearances of Christ. This account of the resurrection' - is an amazing glimpse into the very lives of those who followed Jesus. And if we can observe or learn anything it is that we must each carry in our hearts A readiness for what's next scenario! Clearly, the disciples were not prepared. If the resurrection of Jesus is going to influence our lives today and tomorrow and throughout our lifetime, it might include the following thoughts. Some early Jewish Christians referred to themselves as "the way" probably coming from Isaiah 40:3, "prepare the way of the lord." The resurrection of Jesus is a demonstration of how we can live ready… So what should a new way - include - because of Christ Jesus? This is a new day and may our hearts be filled with 1-A new way will challenge our expectations. 2-A  new way includes suddenly moments. 3-A  new way will prepare for change encounters. 4-A new way will produce hope. 5-A new way will help re-prioritise our lives. And while they walked to the tomb with apprehension and sadness, they run from the tomb with joy and excitement.

GOOD FRIDAY APRIL 10TH 2020 - Ken Collyer
In this Easter message, Ken highlights what this Easter season means to us as believers.  What is deemed as the most important & significant time for Christians in the year. Gathering together to focus on the significance of the good news & what we believe & celebrate most about God. It is a very different Easter. To be outside of a close physical gathering at Easter for the first time in our lives. But we have what is here – God’s word & presence & the good news of Jesus. In the passage of Mark 15:21-451,  I want to highlight two things: - The cry of Jesus - The isolation of Jesus The whole gospel does not bypass the situation of Jesus – the cry & the isolation - but it announces the good news that comes out of the cry & isolation of Jesus. It announces who Jesus is & who we are. It is called Good Friday for that reason. To finish, with a comment I read: ‘Mark’s gospel invites us to re-frame our worship and rethink the good news.’ One day in the Roman Empire the good news of Jesus was announced in a time of panic & fear. That’s where we come to see that good news breaking through for ourselves & our friends today in Ulverstone & beyond. God bless,

In this message, Roger encourages believers to read through the book of Mark? The challenge to follow Christ, you must be prepared to pay the cost no matter what it is.
