S2E1: Introduction - Why "The Different One"
While Season 1 was more about taking charge of your life, with Season 2, we will be focusing on “The Different Ones” in this season.
“The Different One” as the name suggests is going to be the stories of all such people who think differently (Zara hat ke) from the crowd and try to push the human boundary for the greater good.
It has been a common observation that when we look different, think different, talk different, and feels different, it is easy for us to get picked up and sometimes bullied. Just to be a part of the crowd and for social acceptance, many of us kill our different side which is actually our individual Superpower.
Through this season, we want to bring all such stories who have worked hard to nurture their different side not only for themselves but for the betterment of everyone around them. The stories will give confidence to a Different child now in school or a teenager to believe in oneself.
This comes from the personal experiences of our host and we invite all of you with all open hearts to participate and share such stories with us.
Together we want to celebrate “The Different One”.
If you are more of a visual person, then here is the YouTube version of our podcast episode. Do share it with your friends or family members over WhatsApp, Stories or Status, whichever is your most go to platform. :)

S2E0: Teaser - The Different Ones
This is for the original ones, the distinct, diverse, and disparate ones.
The c ontrasting ones, the new shades in a rainbow, an offbeat to the repetitive music.
The unequal, unrelated, unsimilar, and poles apart people,
who have a pure heart that beats more for others.
They are the ones who are always ignored,
treated as eccentric, misfits, outsiders, freaks, and are often bullied.
Yet they are the ones who push human boundaries.
While some see a weirdo in them, we see a superhuman who is taking on the world every day and yet not giving up on humanity and their loved ones.
For us, they are the reformers, they are The Different One who changes things for a Better world.
Let’s celebrate The Different one!
EP 44 - Aggregating UnbinaryLife Podcast Journey: Season 1 closer
Though we are closing on this season, we are preparing for the new one with all new mission.
See you on the other side!
For a quick journey, I highly recommend the chapters below:
Ep 42 - Relationships!
Ep 39 - Life Perspectives: Do you know your unique one?
Ep 31 - What is love, baby don't hurt me, no more!
Ep 24 - Expectation and Dependency
Ep 6 - Overthinking or worrying???
Ep 5 - Emotions decoded!
Ep 43 - What happens when a family discusses Unbinary logics?
If you have been a regular listener or someone who is new to the Unbinary Life podcast channel, this episode is a convergence of all the other episodes that we did earlier. Each of our episodes have been an effort to help you become a better version of yourself by working upon your Emotions, Relationships, Communication skills, Decision-making, and more.
For the first time ever we had four guests and it turned out to be an emotional episode by the time we ended it. No, there were no tears. All you could hear was only laughter! 😊
All the four guests were a closed cohort of the Unbinary Life podcast listeners and in a way a validation for us to see how relevant we were in doing every episode and did it make a difference. And what better than a setup where we invite people connected to each other as family members!
So we had Kundan who hosted this episode and Ruchi on the other-hand became a guest and was joined by her cousins and the conversation was an interplay of the following things:
· How the roles of adults and children or kids are defined in a family?
· Why are there boundaries in relationships where there is a higher age difference? Who creates those boundaries?
· Are there expectations within the family set-up?
· What happens if we speak to each other about our expectations?
· What does it mean to be mature in a relationship and how does it take a toll on you?
· How being emotional cannot be labelled as an excuse to get away from your bad behaviour or ill-treatment?
.
.
.
.
And so many other things.
We are sure this episode would resonate with you in multiple places and you will find yourself playing a part of it in the relationships discussed in this episode.
If you like this episode, don't forget to share it with your friends over WhatsApp or on social media. You can even write to us at - unbinarylife@gmail.com or follow us on Instagram, YouTube, on LinkedIn. You can even rate us on whichever podcast platform you are listening to. 😊
Till then, “Just cut the crap and take charge of your life!”
Ep 42 - Relationships!
Relationships are everywhere around us!
The way we like to say - "We do not exist solo."
This episode took the longest time for us to prepare. There is so much to talk about, at the same time, this is such an important part of our lives, that we were diligent about it.
In this mega episode on RELATIONSHIPS, we talk about:
- What do we mean by the term "Relationships"?
- Why do we need relationships in our lives?
- What makes relationships complex and important at the same time?
- What are the pillars of relationships?
- What is the importance of individual growth in personal and professional relationships?
- What is the importance of quality versus quantity of time spent together in a relationship?
- What are the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships?
This one was really close to our heart and we hope we were able to provide you with a new perspective on relationships and how can you make your relationships healthy with one another.
If you like this episode, don't forget to share it with your friends over WhatsApp or on social media. You can even write to us at - unbinarylife@gmail.com or follow us on Instagram, YouTube, on LinkedIn. You can even rate us on whichever podcast platform you are listening to. 😊
Ep 41 - The multiverse life!
The multiverse is a hypothetical group of multiple universes. Together, these universes comprise everything that exists: the entirety of space, time, matter, energy, information, and the physical laws and constants that describe them. The different universes within the multiverse are called "parallel universes", "other universes", "alternate universes" etc.
How is this relevant to us in life.
Like the physical universe is made up of space, time, matter, energy and information, our life is also made up of multiple variables like emotions, relations, societies, our in inner self say spirituality. Now imagine them as separate Universes.
How?
For that, you have to listen to the entire episode.
If you like this episode, don't forget to share it with your friends over WhatsApp or on social media. You can even write to us at - unbinarylife@gmail.com or follow us on Instagram, YouTube, on LinkedIn. You can even rate us on whichever podcast platform you are listening to. 😊
Happy listening!

Ep 39 - Life Perspectives: Do you know your unique one?
Perspective towards life is the way we see life and make meaning out of it. It is the point of view that comes from our nature and nurturing.
Perspective play a major role in the way we think, and the way we think we speak, we act and we behave. The whole life gets guided by it.
For different perspective, I believe every human have their own unique perspective at looking at things and hence so many unique personalities. Since every human have experienced different genes, growing up conditions and experiences, the perspective differs from human to human.
Now talking of the different types of perspective, there are many, like Cognitive perspective, biological perspective, cultural perspective, Social perspective etc. What I like to stick and that works for me is Positive or negative perspective. Anything that is helping me to feel better without troubling or hurting others is positive perspective to me. It can be short term or long term depending on the situation. -ve is something that is making me feel bad or making me complain or angry etc.
At the end, Change the stories around you and change your perspective. So cut the crap and take charge of your life!

Ep 37 - How much is enough to live a content and influential life?
How much money do we really need to live a content life?
What are we really running for in life?
Do you have a clear answer?
Maybe, after listening to this episode you will get an answer for yourself.
In this episode of the Unbinary Life podcast, we speak to a 27 years old man who wishes to retire in the next 2 years. Surprised? Retiring by the age of 29, wow!!! Who wouldn’t want that?
We spoke to a person who doesn’t like himself to be associated with any title. He is someone who lives a nomadic life in the mountains and spreads awareness about climate change.
We spoke to the Climate Guy, Aakash Ranison. Fun fact, he also has a blue tick on his Instagram account 😉.
This conversation with Aakash will leave you with inspiration, positivity, and cheerfulness, just like the way it made us feel.
Hope you enjoy listening to this one!
PS: There could be a few audio issues in this episode, but this is the best that we could do.
Ep 36 - To be the changemaker, right reason is all you need!
We have always heard that people resist change.
In our earlier episodes, we have communicated that our brain likes to conserve energy.
Resistance against change is because of our own reasons.
In this episode, we want to convey that people are designed to change. It is just that they need a valid reason to change. Do not be absolute in your thought process.
You need to find out the right trigger and you have to find out the system that works for you and then CHANGE is evident.
Ep 35 - How do I make my comfort zone work for me?
“Getting out of the comfort zone” has become kind of universal sentiment for most of us. It has become a differentiator between achievers and super achievers. We have a few examples, where people are okay to risk their health in the name of not being comfortable.
What is this state that we talk so much about? Let’s take a deeper dive into the same.
For any discussion, our go to tool is to align on the word meaning first. Unless we are aligned we are running in any direction looking for finish line. For example, fun can mean different for different people and if we start debating if fun is good or bad, it can be endless.
So here is what we found:
1st - a situation where one feels safe or at ease;
2nd - a situation in which you feel comfortable and you do not have to do anything new or difficult.
If you are someone who aligns with 2nd meaning here, please define what “difficult” means to you and you are set.
For the ones, who knows comfort zone as the 1st definition like me, I find it to be the state where I feel safe and my creativity flourishes. The same has been quoted by Marcus Buckingham & Ashley Goodall in their HBR article “The Feedback Fallacy” (Image shared).
In all these discussions, there always be a parameter of “How much?” which I am not taking up now.
All I am trying to bring here is that easy and comfortable are not the same thing. There is a reason why “being comfortable” is the most desired state. We work hard to earn the comfort and prepare of the next battle. It is more like getting a good “comfortable” sleep to prepare for the next most productive day.
I have very high regards for people who consistently push themselves to achieve greater height by being uncomfortable. The idea is not to be too soft and fragile in the name of being comfortable. Specially when the talk about mental health is being discussed all across.
The idea is to find the best version of you.
Please try for the right mix of it depending on your system you live in and don’t justify all motivations with “being uncomfortable”.

Ep 34 - Offering America the best of ancient India: A Spiritual Awakening
If Abhinav Goswami has his way, America will soon experience the amazing gifts of ancient India — extraordinary health, ethical A2 dairy products, Vedic education and more.
“I had achieved what many would regard as the ultimate dream — a job as a data scientist in Apple,” recounts Abhinav Goswami.
He wondered why the modern education system was turning out hordes of youngsters who felt no bond with nature and only focused on material desires. His whole life flashed before him; his family name Goswami (meaning both “protector of cows” and “one who had conquered the senses”) beckoned to him with a deep significance.
In ancient India, indigenous cows were the center of the economy; they were wealth; and in fact, they even played an important part in maintaining the educational system. Their milk was used to make delicious curds, butter, buttermilk, ghee, and other dairy products which kept the population nourished and happy. For students, it was extra important to have enough quantities of milk and curds.
Cow dung was used as fuel, fertilizer, plastering material (which kept houses cool in summer and warm in winter), anti-bacterial cleaner and more. The cow’s urine was used in myriad health-giving Ayurvedic products. In addition to all the material gifts they bestow, cows also have a deeply spiritual presence, which has been acknowledged by many. The deep bonds between cows and their owner’s families was a given.
More is covered in detail in a candid conversation with Abhinav. Hope you enjoy it!

Ep 33 - The Good Side of a "Conflict"!!
"Conflict is the beginning of the consciousness"
Conflict as we define is the more serious form of disagreement. It is about being incompatible or at variance. A conflict is a struggle and a clash of interest, opinion, or even principles. With others, it is mostly the difference in the belief system or trying to impose our belief system onto others. With self, conflict in self-image happens when a person's actions do not align with how they view themselves. It mostly originates from self believe vs the need of the hour.
Focusing more on the self-conflict, we believe that Inner conflict is the result of two opposing motivations or beliefs inside one person. Self-conflicted motivations may be based on conflicting beliefs or conflicting needs. Usually, these are not a big life-threatening situations and can be easily mitigated by a middle path but depending on our state of find and safe feeling, we decide on the situations.
Inner conflicts play a major role in relationship management and can soon convert into conflict because of others.
With Unbinary, there is a huge positive perspective of the conflict and for that, I highly recommend listening to the podcast and sharing your views.
Till then, cut the crap and take charge of your life. We will meet again. Don’t forget to leave us a comment if there is anything you want to share with us. Will connect soon!
Ep 32 - Online friendships and relationships - Pros and Cons!
Online relationships and friendships are a thing!
Thanks to the pandemic, the world became even closer! Birthdays, anniversaries, any special occasion, found a new venue ONLINE!
To some, the online world has opened up myriad opportunities and to some online world has left an unpleasant mark on their minds!
Bumble, Tinder, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Quora, etc. there is a huge list of platforms! Accept it or not, like it or not, we cannot escape the online world!
And since we cannot escape it, we chose to talk about it and share our experiences (healthy and unhealthy) of the online world, with YOU!

Ep 31 - What is love, baby don't hurt me, no more!
What is love?
We use this word so many times during the day.
I love this dress, I love going on holidays, I love him or her, I love doing this work, I love this, I love that!!!!!!
Like really, we love so many things!
Yet, when it comes to people, there are so many conflicts in love! WHY?
We asked this question to people around us and we'd like to share a few of them with you:
- "Given, its all shapes and sizes, my understanding of love boils to this - Love is a sum of all things you sacrifice to sustain all the things that bring you joy." ~ Rakshith Gowda
- "Being understood without having to explain myself. Being able to enjoy a person - all good and bad that comes with them. And also a feeling where non-verbal communication is well received and reciprocated." ~ Urmi Jain
- "The most important thing about love is to express. If you can express it, love has value." ~ Priyank Jain
(By the way, thank you all for sharing your responses_/\_. We tried putting the audio clips too, but unfortunately, it didn't work out well.)
Now, coming back to the episode topic, an interesting point here is there is no right or wrong when it comes to defining love. And we are not debating those perspectives of love for any individual.
What we want to share with you is again a perspective that could help you dealing your love relationships.
A few questions that we try to address here and want you to be aware of:
- What are the unhealthy forms of love?
- Are you expecting or dependent on someone when in love?
- What are the stories you tell to yourself in love? Are they helping you?
- Do you have healthy communication with the other person?
- Can you or should you control love?
We hope this episode too provides a different perspective and helps you in your journey of self-growth.

Ep 30 - Peer Pressure is REAL!!!
Most of us have all faced peer pressure at some or the other point in our lives.
Peer pressure can be traumatic and it could lead to lower self-esteem for a lot of people, especially during school and college days.
In this episode of the Unbinary Life Podcast, we try to understand, why peer pressure exists, why people entertain peer pressure, and what you can do to stay away from it.
But can peer pressure be healthy too???
In order to know, please listen to this short episode and hop you enjoy listening to it!

Ep 29 - All you need to know about ANGER!
Are you someone dealing with anger issues?
Do you have that one friend, family member, or colleague who always shouts or yells at people and finds it hard to control their temperament? Then this episode is something that you should share with them.
Anger has a detrimental impact on our lives yet we take it so lightly that oh, he or she is short-tempered. He or she always gets angry, let it be, ignore them.
Maybe that person needs help or some intervention of some sort to come out of it.
When we say love binds relationships, on the other side, anger destroys relationships over a period of time.
In this episode, Kundan and Ruchi open up about their anger issues. How Ruchi still struggles with it and wants to work upon it and Kundan shares one of his life experiences where he really lost it too bad and then how he started working upon himself to become calmer.
Without disclosing much, we'll let you listen to this! :)

Ep 28 - A strong mindset is all you need!
A growth mindset means that you believe your intelligence and talents can be developed over time.
A fixed mindset means that you believe intelligence is fixed—so if you’re not good at something, you might believe you’ll never be good at it.
HBR Says:
Individuals who believe their talents can be developed (through hard work, good strategies, and input from others) have a growth mindset. They tend to achieve more than those with a more fixed mindset (those who believe their talents are innate gifts). This is because they worry less about looking smart and they put more energy into learning. When entire companies embrace a growth mindset, their employees report feeling far more empowered and committed; they also receive far greater organizational support for collaboration and innovation.
It’s hard work, but individuals can gain a lot by deepening their understanding of growth-mindset concepts and the processes for putting them into practice. It gives them a richer sense of who they are, what they stand for, and how they want to move forward.
In recent times, “growth mindset” has become a buzzword for many, even working its way into their mission statements but very few people have the understanding of the mindset itself. Let’s explore with us through the podcast audio.
EP 27 - Should I care or not: How "Care" giving & taking works
Care is wonderful thing.
As always, "to care" usually there are two sides, the healthy and the unhealthy side of it.
If there has been a low time in a person or self, extra care goes a long way, but if again there are multiple such instances of low times, be careful. Stepen Karpman calls it a drama triangle, where two points are that of a victim and the other as rescuer. It happens mostly in friendship, romantic relationships and on the process of getting marriages.
Country like India, our movies which is mostly based out of Love affair contributes a lot.
But there’s a difference between healthy caring and corrosive careaholism and Forbes team call it Careaholic! It works similar to influence of alcohol… I kind of agree to it.
Caring is good, infact very good till we know if we know to balance it right. We all humans are expected to take care of self or each other but we should not and big Not depend on other taking care of us or we taking care of others.
Ep 26 - Real, Ideal and Imaginary self - Concept of Self (Part 2)
We are fascinating creatures! Aren't we?
We live in a world where most people find it hard to be their real selves and spend most of their time in the imaginary world or thinking about the ideal version of themselves.
And again, most of the time, the ideal, real, and imaginary versions of ourselves are significantly different from each other. That creates a huge mess in our minds.
Hasn't it happened with you that you have gone on a date with someone and you try to impress the other person and project yourself as an ideal version of yourself?
But in reality, you may be far away from that projection of yourself. You behaved in a particular way anyway because you wanted to impress someone. The person is impressed and you start dating and then conflicts start arising. You cannot fake your ideal self on a day-to-day basis for a long time. Your real self starts showing up and the other person may or may not like that version of you.
This is just one of the examples. We do the same in job interviews, marriage proposals, client meetings, and so on.
We fight to be who we are not! Or we present ourselves as someone we are not! And then we are unhappy!
In this episode, we build up from the basic on Concept of Self, our 2nd episode and try and understand:
- What are the real, ideal, and imaginary selves of a human being?
- How can one identify those?
- How does it affect us when all these three versions of us are different from each other?
- How we can bring them closer to each other?
Not sure if you can feel the energy of this episode while listening, this was our very first offline recording away from virtual video calls and we were excited to do it in-person.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Happy listening! :)
And if you haven't listened to Part 1 of Concept of self, you can listen to it here.

Ep 25 – Change your operating system to change your life!
We all have beliefs and feelings. And we have beliefs about ourselves, about the world around us.
All this is because of our experiences. As a child, we encounter some events and it has an impact on us. That is how our beliefs are formed.
What is important is to understand that these beliefs are not permanent.
Many a time, we are living somebody else’s life. We are living somebody else’s version of our life.
We have to remember that we are the author of our own story. We are not another person. There is only one version of us.
The biggest revelation for people is that – “Whatever you are thinking, are your thoughts. If they are your thoughts, then you have the power to change them.” It is that simple!
.
.
.
And with that, we would like to say, that go and listen to this wonderful guest episode that we did with Kate Hoyle, a Hypnotherapist and a wonderful human being who likes to work with teenagers on mental health. You can find her on Instagram, check out the hyperlink on her name, and feel free to speak to her.
We have been fortunate to speak to her and were awed by her giving nature.

Ep 24 - Expectation and Dependency
Is there anyone who hasn't had any expectations from others in life?
A lot of people have said in the past that the key to happiness is not to expect anything from anyone.
As human beings, we all have this tendency to expect from others. And when those expectations are unfulfilled, we feel upset, angry, disappointed, or are taken aback.
But have you ever wondered, is it the expectancy that hurts or dependency on someone that hurts us more?
In this podcast, Kundan and Ruchi discuss this topic and tell us the use of two thermometers that we can use in life to help us overcome these situations.
If you like this episode, don't forget to share it with your friends over WhatsApp or on social media. You can even write to us at - unbinarylife@gmail.com or follow us on Instagram and on LinkedIn. You can even rate us on whichever podcast platform you are listening to. :)
Ep 23 - Self-inviting bad events!
Has it ever happened with you that you encountered something unfortunate - maybe some news of a financial loss, failure in achieving a goal, job rejection, etc. and after that, your entire day went for a toss because knowingly or unknowingly you invited a lot of bad events yourself?
In this episode, Ruchi shares her experience of a recent event where unknowingly she messed up her day and indulged in an unhealthy argument with a friend because of an uncontrollable event that happened somewhere else.
We are sure you might have done something similar in your life too at some time.
Towards the end of this episode, Ruchi shares how calming our mind can potentially help us to invite other bad events that are controllable from our side.
Hope you enjoy listening to it. If you like this episode, don't forget to share it with your friends or on social media. You can even write to us at - unbinarylife@gmail.com or follow us on Instagram and on LinkedIn. You can even rate us on whichever podcast platform you are listening to. :)
Ep 22 - Anxiety!!!
Has it ever happened to you that are studying or working and suddenly you start feeling too anxious?
Or, you had a fight or a disagreement with a loved one, continuous back and forth of statements and then anxiety starts hitting you?
Sounds familiar?
In this episode if the Unbinary Life Podcast, we try to understand anxiety and how can we deal with it.
Can we overcome it completely? NO, that's not possible! We would be lying if we say yes that we have a full-proof solution.
Being Unbinary people, you know that's the last thing that we will say. But yes, we can work towards dealing in those anxiety-filled situations positively.
We were delighted to have Arnab Ghosh in this episode with us, who is an engineer and a content writing professional. We are so grateful to Arnab for being vulnerable to share his life experiences with us and how we all can benefit from those.
We'd be talking about:
- Dealing with anxiety in stressful situations or in position of authority
- Finding balance within
- Actionable steps that can make us feel better
- Importance of prioritization of things in our life and a matrix that can help us prioritize our life goals
- ..and more
We are sure that you will find glimpses of you in this podcast conversation and we hope that by the end of this podcast, you go away with some pointers that can help you overcome your anxiety.

Ep 21 - Being selfish or self-care?
In order to please someone else, will you destroy your own peace of mind? Should you do so or where do you need to draw a line between your personal space and your equation with others? Who decides that?
In this episode, we are trying to find:
- How do we set healthy boundaries for ourselves?
- How do we deal difficult situations wherein we have to choose between self and others?
- The moral dilemma of selecting self over others
- ...and more!
How many times have you encountered situation wherein you are taking care of yourself and protecting yourself from a bad situation and then someone says, "hey you are being so selfish, you are not even thinking about me."?
The debate between self-care and being selfish is not new.
In this episode, we again have a heartfelt conversation with Kanika Sarda, a young and smart lady who tries to balance her personal space with her friends, colleagues and family members.
The examples we discuss will make you feel relate to them.
We hope that you enjoy this episode too, like you have enjoyed the others! :)

Ep 20 - There's no stopping to growth if you have curiosity in YOU!
A writer, freelance journalist, public speaker, young nutrition ambassador, and TEDx speaker, our guest of today’s episode has accomplished all this so far and her journey has just started!
A very warm welcome to our guest, Hasini Lakshminarayan, and although there were many wow moments for us in the episode, the highlight for us was her simplicity, curiosity, determination, pragmatic approach towards life, and her charming smile.
Oops! We realized that we could not stop at just one attribute! She is a multi-talented person and it is her skills and outlook towards life that make her different.
At Unbinary Life, we strongly believe that every individual is different, and they are unique in their own ways. All we need is maybe a push or a little motivation.
Hasini is trying to bring out such inspirational stories of youngsters like her and fill the world with a ray of hope.
And no, did we forget to mention that Hasini is just 13 years old! 😉
The pandemic has changed the lives of many people. For some, it has been good but for some, unfortunately, it wasn’t good. This podcast will give you some motivation of how you can turn a crisis into an opportunity for yourself – for self-growth; ONLY IF you are willing to learn more and explore life with positivity.
And don’t worry, the conversation is not some motivational lecture. It is a candid conversation that you may have with any of your friends.
So, enjoy listening to this one!

Ep 19 - Ready for a NEW YOU???
How many of us have made New Year Resolutions year-on-year and then failed to continue those by the end of February???
Every year, most of us plan to be more healthy, be more fit, adopt good habits, and what not.... and WE FAIL!
Ever wondered WHY?
Why do we fail to fulfill the promises that we make to ourselves? Are we that incompetent or we are just too lazy or do we just lack commitment?
In this episode, we have tried to drill down :
- Why do we fail to keep up with our resolutions?
- What is the neuroscience behind habit formation?
- How does our brain work?
- What is a habit loop and how can you get rid of a bad habit or develop a good habit?
- Can we hack our brains to develop new habits?
- How can you re-shape yourselves? What is the "NEW YOU" that you would like to define for yourself?
And just a little bit about ourselves and our new year resolutions for 2022. :)
In the end, it will leave you thinking, is our success or failure actually a result of our Karma or it is just a result of our habits!
