You’re allowed to leave any relationship — with Traver Boehm
This past month I’ve been on the phone with far too many men who are stuck in bad relationships — and refuse to leave them.
Why? Because they’ve made it some sort of badge of honor to stay and suffer rather than leave and start over. In this episode I break down how you can shift areas of your marriage or relationship, and then why it’s more than okay, no matter what society tells you, to seek your happiness elsewhere.
Enjoy.

The 4B Movement, Passport Bros, and The UNcivilized Relationship
In this fiery solo episode I break down The 4B Movement coming out of South Korea, The Passport Bro Movement here in the US, and the wildly needed UNcivilized Relationship Paradigm.
This episode is going to upset a lot of folks because, well, I’m in support of both movements despite the massive implications they will have societally. And I see them both as canaries in the relationship coal mine indicative of massive changes that need to come forward.
AND — at the end I outline a new way of relationship, one I feel is long overdue.

Nickelodeon, P Diddy, and Andrew Huberman — with Traver Boehm
What a crazy month in the civilized world, huh? Who ever would have thought such juggernauts as Nickelodeon, P Diddy, AND Andrew Huberman would come to light for being toxic and horrible — at the same time.
For us at UNcivilized, this is a sign that the civilized veil is falling, truth is emerging, and as men — it’s time for us to deal with what’s in our own shadowy closets.
In this solo episode I talk about what I see and most importantly, how you can make positive changes in your own life because of it.
Enjoy.

Nice Guys —why trying to belong is strangling your authenticity with Traver Boehm
I’ve often talked about and taught the notion of Attachment vs Authenticity when it comes to Nice Guy work. And the idea of attachment is real — but it’s taken me a few years of working with it and hearing about it quite often for it truly to stick.
Thus I’m now shifting to talking about Belonging vs Authenticity — especially with but not exclusive to Nice Guys.
In this short solo episode I break down why your need to belong may be strangling you of your authentic expression and I give you three steps on how to begin to shift the tides

UNcivilized masculinity vs Traditional masculinity with Traver Boehm
An Instagram follower asked me the difference between aspects of Traditional Masculinity and our UNcivilized Masculinity and rather than write him back a novel, I decided to record this solo episode for you.
In it, I jump right to the point and outline what’s great about Traditional Masculinity and — what needed to be upgraded about it. Thus the creation of UNcivilized Masculinity.
I outline what makes us different and why…key word — relationship.

Francis Weller — Living a soulfully UNcivilized life.
Francis Weller has been an inspiration for me for years now. The way he speaks and shares his work around initiation and living a soulful life hits me in my core. It stops my frantic mind and makes me feel like the world is going to be okay…even if it may not be.
In this episode I get to sit down with Francis and have a frank conversation about men, about getting in touch with our deeper parts, and with what we need to do to make sure we as a species don’t got extinct.
You know, light fluffy stuff.

Three massive changes I’ve had from men’s work with Traver Boehm
In this short and punchy solo episode, I answer another question from Instagram:
“What were the most transformative parts of men’s work for you?”
I dive into the top three for you so you can decide for yourself if these are pieces you want to try on yourself.
- Outgrowing substances like alcohol, weed, and porn
- Getting to be authentically me in men’s groups
- Having Michael Gay say, “Set the tone…” and turning the embodiment lightbulb on

Where to begin your men’s work journey with Traver Boehm.
Last week I was on a call with a man who asked me this profound question, “Where do I begin my men’s work journey? There are so many places I can start from?”
In this episode I break down a great starting point for you if you’re about to embark on your men’s work journey, or where to return to if you’ve currently been on a break and aren’t sure where to pick back up.
I also share a new frame for you that takes the edge and anxiety out of how overwhelming the decision may be.

What to do when you struggle finding your purpose with Traver Boehm.
In this short solo episode, I break down the two main blocks I see when people try to figure out their purpose.
Knowing why you’re here and what you’re here to do is a BIG deal. And being stuck without knowing either can lead to a lot of undue suffering.
This episode will help ease that suffering and give you a path forward when you’re in between major chapters of your life.

Failure to Launch
I actually did walk through the woods to go to school, and sometimes it was freezing. I figured out pretty early on that there are a lot of guys who get things handed to them where I didn't. I also figured out I wasn't the smartest but I had the willingness and ability to outwork just about anybody. But we all had one thing in common.
Failure to launch.
We all hit "failure to launch" in our lives, multiple times. The way you get out of that rut is...

Advanced Concepts — Space holding vs Selfishness
After BDSM teacher Andy Buru came into The UNcivilized Nation and dropped this notion for all of us, I’ve been seeing how potent of an idea this is — balancing space holding and selfishness actually is. AND how confronting it is for so many people to lean into the one that’s not their natural way.
In this short solo episode I break down why being able to do both will change your sex life, your income, and your relationships at large.

Duey Freeman — What men fear most is being afraid.
This is an important episode and please stay to the end of it where we go into a depth we never planned on. Last week Duey quoted a book he’s reading about how men mostly fear the experience of being afraid. I put my knife and fork down and asked him to tell me more.
As he did, I knew we had to record this episode and share it with you all. It starts a bit slow but then we get into hard hitting concepts that you can use to shift your life immediately.

Jeremy Allen — At the root of all grief is relationship
Making a brief return to interviewing, I get to sit down here with a man who has been a mortician since the age of 18. Wild huh?
We talk a lot about grief, the power of full expression and how we can shift the societal tide that’s preventing so many people from feeling what’s only natural in their lives.

Powerful advice for Nice Guys and Cool Girls
In this episode I tackle one of my favorite topics — being a Nice Guy (or Cool Girl). Since this is my background and our most popular course, I’m diving in and giving you three concrete ideas for you to apply right now to start to shift this paradigm in your life.
- You will NOT get what you want in life JUST making other people happy.
- The life you want will cost you the one you have.
- You’re so much closer to the life you want than you think.

49 Days In The Pitch Dark
In this episode I sit down with Lama Justin von Bujdoss and talk about many things. Namely, his experience in a 49 day dark retreat, his time working in hospice, as well as his career as a prison chaplain.
The man has seen and experienced beauty and loss on a grand scale. This is a fabulous interview where he talks about how we can all deal with the darker pieces of our lives and the potential challenges we will all inevitably face.

There are no missteps.
One of the pains so many people experience is from looking back on their lives and thinking they wasted time with a particular chapter. I hear this in workshops and with my private clients.
“Gosh, if I hadn’t spent those 5 years studying agriculture and instead had 5 more years in my current profession of real estate development.” Or something like this.
In this punchy solo episode I share about my own journey to becoming the founder of The UNcivilized Movement and how it was anything but a straight path. And why every “misstep” along the way was actually a crucial part of the journey.

Ralek Gracie — From Jiujitsu royalty to filmmaking mastery
This episode is powerful. In it I get to sit down with the great Ralek Gracie. Born into Jiujitsu royalty Ralek has spent his life on the mat, in the ring, and in the cage. His life was about little else than jiujitsu and being a Gracie.
Yet a business failure and the subsequent introspection took his life down a completely separate path, one of art, authenticity, and unapologetic expression.
In this episode you’ll get a VIP pass into Ralek’s journey and how you can immediately apply the lessons it’s taught him.

An UNcivilized Man is Raw, Real, & Relational
A few months ago I was at breakfast with the great Duey Freeman, chewing on some bacon and talking about the future of the Nation. He asked me a million dollar question:
“How do you now define an UNcivilized Man?”
I answered, “Well, he’s raw…he’s real…”
And Duey finished my sentence, “And he’s relational.”
In this short solo episode I breakdown what this means and how you can apply it in your life starting today.

What to do when you find yourself lost in life
It happens. It happens to all of us. In fact it’s happened to me a few times in the past two years as well — that terrible feeling of being lost in your life.
In this short and sweet solo episode I share how I got myself back on track after getting jostled pretty hard by some deaths and a near death accident. I know these ideas work as I’ve also now taught them in numerous workshops.

Fierce isn’t aggressive.
Men, there’s a big misconception out there that ferocity and passion are aggressive if they’re displayed by men.

The two steps to glory.
In this short solo episode I break down the two steps you can start to take immediately to live an UNcivilized life — ie. THE LIFE OF YOUR DREAMS.
I’ll give them to you here but you’re still going to have to do the work yourself. Or another way to say that is, “You GET to go on the ride of your life if you do this.”
The steps are:
1) Figure out what you ACTUALLY want
2) Go build that
Yep, once you make this your way of life all kinds of amazing and challenging things happen for you and to you, but is there any other kind of life you’d rather live?
It’s an UNcivilized life for me. Forever.

The Darkness - Part 2
Why do people fear darkness? The answer lies in its uncontrollability. Darkness stirs up the deepest corners of our minds, like a blank canvas for our deepest fears. It's like being trapped in a horror movie with no escape.
In this second part of our "Darkness" series, Traver Boehm and Katie Sroka are diving deep into the idea of darkness as an entity, unraveling the reasons behind people's profound fear of it.
Looking ahead, there's something on the horizon. As Traver approaches his 49th birthday, he's got some big plans. What's he got in store? Will he face the darkness once more? You'll have to tune in to this episode to discover it all.
As for you, could you handle an experience like this? Let us know in the comments!
WHAT YOU WILL HEAR
[00:23] Exploring Darkness as an Entity
[04:53] Why People Fear Darkness
[13:25] Exploring the Darkness in Others

The Darkness - Part 1
Just imagine, 28 days in total darkness – now that's something wild, right? Well, get ready to hear a wild journey through an interview.
In this episode, things take an interesting turn as the interviewer becomes the interviewee. Our dear Katie Sroka takes the host chair and delves into Traver's profound experience: spending 28 days in total darkness.
For those not in the loop, in 2016, Traver found himself locked in a pitch-black room in Guatemala, an event that would dramatically reshape his life. Throughout those demanding 28 days, he grappled with solitude and the absence of light, pushing his mental strength to its limits.
In that time, he battled to keep his sanity, wrestling with questions of who he was and what life meant to him. His understanding of mortality deepened as he contemplated his own life while immersed in the abyss.
Today, Traver no longer dreads death; he embraces it as a companion and motivator, propelling him to make the most of every moment in life. The darkness, once intimidating, has now become his home.
This is Part 1 of 2.
WHAT YOU WILL HEAR:
[03:28] The alternative perspective: Katie's viewpoint.
[09:51] What did Traver need to do during those days to maintain his mental well-being?
[14:39] How did the experience of darkness impact Traver after he left it?
[17:13] Traver's connection with death and his current perspective on it.

Let’s pop the Guru fantasy.
Howdy folks. In this short solo episode I talk about one of the blocks many people have when it comes to social media and the self development space — making the person they follow into a Guru.
After years spent in the trenches of the Self Development world, I can tell you — we are all human. And many people are not what they seem. At all.
Give this 10 minutes of your time and you’ll walk away with a fresh perspective on who you follow.

How'd Traver Get UNcivilized? - Staff Interview with Erin
It's the third and final week for my team to interview me.
This week it's Erin, lovingly referred to as the Director of Traver (we'll explain that title in the podcast). Together we dove into what made and still makes Traver UNcivilized, and a few specific questions from a woman's perspective of how to connect with men. Our conversation perfectly rounds out this series and I hope you love it as much as I did.

Digging Deep into Traver's Brain - Staff Interview with Malina
It's week two for the Team at UNcivilized to interview me!
This week it's Malina, our Director of Operations, and let's just say she isn't thrilled about speaking into a microphone. But like a typical member of the UNcivilized world, she showed up full stop. She's asked me some very deep questions, in typical Malina fashion, and I just love her for it. She made me think and she made me feel. Enjoy!

Traver
Traver's Upbringing - Staff Interview with Denise
The people who work at Team UNcivilized are as committed to helping end the suffering in men to help the suffering caused by men as I am. For the next few weeks, you'll get to hear them interview me.
First up is Denise. Our Director of Design, Denise does so much more than that. Sure, she was sweating through half this recording, but she also asked me some incredible questions about my own background. Some of it might surprise you.

How to spot the female version of a Nice Guy
We hear a LOT about Nice Guys, especially around the UNcivilized. Many men come to men’s work after discovering that they themselves are Nice Guys and this is their entree point onto the path of becoming whole as a man.
But what is the female equivalent of Nice Guy? And how do you spot it whether you’re in the dating world or not.
In this short solo episode I break down the Good Girl, how to spot her, and why, just like the Nice Guy, what sounds great at first…doesn’t last.

Making sense of boundaries - with Traver Boehm
In this quick and dirty solo episode I’m answering a question I got on Instagram about what exactly boundaries are and how to set them and keep them.
Boundaries are the special sauce of relationships. With them your relationships will thrive and can last forever. Without them you will slowly build up resentment and until you explode. Trust me as I speak from personal experience on this.
I’m diving into how to understand boundaries more deeply, why you need them, and the magic sentence that you can use to enforce them.

Whose rules are you playing by? — with Traver Boehm
We men often don’t stop and ask ourselves, “Whose rules am I playing by? Are they mine? Do they work for me? What if I changed them?”
In this short solo episode I share a conversation I had with a man after Jiujitsu who has changed his entire outlook on life just by questioning whose rules he was living by.
This is especially important for Nice Guys who often aren’t playing by ONE set of someone else’s rules but changing depending on who is in front of them.
This episode is hard hitting and will help you shift both your perspective and your actions to be more aligned with you want to be!
Enjoy.
Cheers,
Traver

These secret agreements are killing your relationships with Traver Boehm
I wish I had a more easily understood term for the words Covert Contracts, but I don’t…yet.
And — everyone has these secret, one-way agreements in our relationships that slowly build resentment, erode trust, and actually prevent us from getting the very needs we’re desperate to get met from doing just that.
In this solo episode I break down what a Covert Contract is, how you can spot them in your relationship, and how you can STOP using them and instead speak your needs directly. Enjoy
Cheers,
Traver

Overcoming your fear of rejection with Traver Boehm
Fear of rejection shows up in many less than obvious ways. It can be the difference between speaking your mind and keeping quiet, sharing your post or deleting before anyone gets a chance to read it.

However, there are actions you can take and frames you can adopt to make your fear of rejection go from a huge burden in your life to a roommate who lives alone in your basement.
Give this episode a listen if you’re dealing with some fear of rejection. Please share this as well.
Cheers,
Traver

The Mental App Founders — How men strengthen their mindset
Life is a short and unique journey that should be cherished and maximized to its fullest potential. It is crucial not only to prioritize our own personal growth but also to assist others in doing the same. In the modern era, we have become more conscious of the significance of mental health. However, despite being familiar with the subject, we often neglect our own internal struggles.
Mental health plays a fundamental role in many people's lives, and it is one of the main reasons why some men decide to take their own lives. It is disheartening to contemplate the lost lives that could have been saved if these individuals had sought help or received support from their loved ones.
In today's episode, we will have Anson Whitmer and Tyler Sheaffer as our guests. They will shed light on the importance of prioritizing mental health and introduce us to an application called Mental, specifically designed for men with a focus on mental health care.
Let us approach this topic with the seriousness it deserves and make a conscious effort to take care of our mental well-being. Seeking support is not a sign of weakness but a courageous act undertaken by strong individuals. It requires adopting a "badass" attitude, characterized by bravery and a willingness to confront and address our mental health challenges.
ABOUT ANSON WHITMER
When he was young, two close male relatives of his took their own lives. This experience motivated him to pursue a PhD in Neuroscience and develop the Calm app. Anson has personally witnessed how our current societal dialogue on mental health fails to resonate with men. It lacks a focus on men's specific needs. Considering that men account for 80% of suicides, addressing this crisis requires innovative approaches to support men's mental well-being.
Out of the thousands of mental health apps available, Mental is the first one that has been designed from the ground up with men in mind.
ABOUT TYLER SHEAFFER
Tyler Sheaffer is a product engineer who played a pivotal role in building the Calm app. He dedicated his skills and expertise to the development of the app. Additionally, Tyler is an avid ocean paddler, engaging in this activity on a daily basis.
