Episode 81: Tom Vickers
On this week's Chronicles podcast, we were joined by Northampton Chronicle and Echo reporter Tom Vickers. Tom has been working for the newspaper for over 10 years and has been covering Northampton Saints home and away.
During the talk, hosted by Multimedia Journalism lecturer Jefferson Lake, who was also a former colleague of Tom, they shared some memories of their time together as well as some stories of Tom's years spent closely with Northampton Saints.

Episode 75: Caroline Cheetham
On this week's Chronicles podcast, we were joined by creator of the Lucy Letby podcast and BBC broadcaster, Caroline Cheetham.
The Lucy Letby podcast covered the trial of 33-year-old neonatal nurse, convicted of murdering seven infants and attempting to murder six more, at the Countess of Chester Hospital. The trial was closely followed by the public, and the first-of-its-kind podcast received over 13 million downloads.
During the talk held by lecturer Kate Ironside, Caroline talked about the logistics of creating such a legally-tight podcast, as well as tips for aspiring journalists.
Episode 74: Jon Dunham
On this week's Chronicles podcast, we were joined by local sports reporter Jon Dunham. Jon has recently departed his role after spending over 20 years as a reporter for a local newspaper company, the Northamptonshire Telegraph.
During the talk, hosted by Multimedia Journalism lecturer Jefferson Lake, he tells the story of a national football hero coming to town, as well as sharing some career advice which will be sure to resonate with all year groups.

On this week's Chronicles podcast, we were joined by BBC Radio Northampton's Annabel Amos and Graham McKechnie. Annabel has been the breakfast show presenter on the station for the last five years but has over 20 years in the BBC.
Graham is the sports editor at Radio Northampton covering mainly Northampton Town Football Club, Northampton Saints and Northants Cricket.
During the talk, hosted by lecturer Hilary Scott, they gave an insight to local radio cuts, how they both started and both told us their most embarrassing moment on air.

On this week's Chronicles podcast, we were joined by local journalist Katie Wheatley. Katie has recently graduated from the University of Sheffield and has moved back to her home town, Northampton, as a trainee reporter for the local newspaper, The Chronicle and Echo.

On this week's Chronicles podcast we were joined by journalist Steve Scoles. Steve has worked for local newspapers such as the Bedfordshire Times and also worked for bigger newspapers such as the Metro.
During the talk, hosted by Head Journalism lecturer Hilary Scott, he talks what it was like reporting in a warzone, what it was like at the beginning of the Metro newspaper and the opportunities that journalism has been able to give him.

Episode 69: Anton Toloui
On this weeks Chronicles podcast we were lucky enough to be joined by Sky News reporter, Anton Toloui. Anton has worked for Sky for more than a decade and recently led on the coverage of the Lionesses' glorious Euro 2022 campaign. He is a key member of the Sky Sports News reporting team and has developed a specialist role covering the Women's Super League.

Episode 68: Julia Gregory
Julia Gregory joins us for this week's episode, focusing on how she has reported on the Grenfell Tower over the past five years. Julia is a Local Democracy Reporter based in London and she began to work in Kensington and Chelsea, the borough of Grenfell Tower, in 2018, one year after the fire. Since then she has become part of the tight-knit community, giving those affected by the fire a voice through her many published articles on the disaster.
During the talk, conducted by University of Northampton journalism tutor Kate Ironside, Julia touches on how to interview and work with those affected by disasters and how to look after yourself as a journalist working on such a devastating topic. This week's episode is hosted by Will Dyer and Sam Clark.
Episode 67: Howard Littler
In this week's episode Howard Littler talks to lecturers and students at University of Northampton about John Schofield Trust's new journalism mentoring scheme. Howard is the Fellowship Manager of the John Schofield Trust and has been both a mentor and mentee throughout his career. Hosts Ben and Eric (with the help of Howard) will guide you through everything you need to know about this new programme while also exploring how the Trust are striving to bring diversity into newsrooms.
