Decentracast is about being decentralized as a user while traversing the world of Web 3.0!
This is not a "technology of" or "crypto currency" podcast. Rather it's about how to utilize Web 3.0 in your daily life. I will talk about many different blockchains but mostly revolve around Hive. I will do my best to get interviews with the developers of the apps and the blockchains but like I said. It's not about the actual technology but more how humans can use it to make their daily lives better.

This was a spur of the moment episode that was not planned hence the hurried and rushed nature of getting connected with the boys on the call.

The first file that I downloaded that was recorded on their server sounded great. But the one for this video was recorded in a different bit rate for some reason.

As a result our voices sounded like chipmonks. So I down pitched it the best I could. i got a good match to what we actually sound like. But there is still a slight bit of the shift up in our voices.

The audio in the beginning and end were recorded directly on my computer. And you can hear my fan in the background because I wasnt using any gates or suppression of any kind.

When switch to the audio of the connection in the Aureal room you will notice it completely changes. and the ground floor comes right up and that back ground noise of my fan just totally disappears. This is absolutely awesomeness!

I can assure you I did not shut it off. Since it gets to well above 90 degrees in that room.

Outside of the minor mishap of it recording in the wrong bit rate I would say its a resounding success. And I can wait to get in there agian and record some more!

In a nut shell

- Planets - Are us. Humans sovereign and free

- Stars - Are the dapps/iot edvices/AI that make up the Galaxies

- Galaxies - Are the Ecosystems

- The Universe - All those different ecosystems working together

Whats missing from this explanation:

- The medium that connects the planets to the stars and the stars to the galaxies.

- The medium that connects the galaxies to each other to create the universe

Well the first of these two are here today. It's called blockchain technology and there are alot of them out there already. But the best one that is currently running the most effiecently and the most economical for all parties is Hive. https://hive.io

Decentracast S1E1.5 Changing RSS Feeds!

This episode is to warn you that the rss feed is changning. I will leave this feed up for a couple of days after I post this so you can make sure you have the new feed saved in case something goes horribly wrong. Lol.

But I am leaving Anchor.fm and they tell me that I can put in a 301 redirect which would mean that you would see and notice nothing. But I dont trust Anchor anymore so here is the new feed.

Just going over some reasons for the rebranding of As The Wheels Roll to Decentracast.

The podcast never really was about trucking as I had intended for it to be.
If you are subscribed to the Anchor.fm feed nothing should change for you. You should still get it because I will do a 301 redirect from Anchor to the new feed.
The new feed will come from Aureal and have a new work flow of producing my podcasts.
You should be able to listen and even join me live as I record it. Chat in the chat room or even turn on your mic and talk with me.
The Loud & Proud show's feed will change the same way. If you already subscribed you shouldnt see any change.
I also rebooted NTROradio podcast and the first episode should be up very very soon!

If you recall I was lamenting the wonders of OneLove's IPFS upload tool and how if it could be modified to do the same for audio files. Well I didnt really do my homework. I did overlook another tool thats here already. Ecensy. This is the app I should have been using as an example rather than OneLove IPFS Upload Tool. If you could combine those two apps I would be in heavan!

I also talk about and show off a brand spankin' new app called Terrive. It is a 100% fully decentralized Photo and short video social media site that is integrated with the Hive blockchain. You can use Hivesigner or Hive Keychain to log in with and it's workin really good. Short videos up to a minute are accepted and jpg, jpeg and png files are all as well.

ATWR 7-14-21 A Dream App for Content Creators

So in this episode I explain just exactly what kind of an app I am talking about. Why it's needed and how it could be used to attract more content creators into Hive and the wonderful world of Web 3.0!

The Problem We Face as Content Creators - It's not just on Hive

Where I got the current inspiration I have for this app

The current barriers we face onboarding new content creators to Hive and Web 3.0. How it could help to onboard new content creators.

I compare the 3Speak and LBRY desktop apps and why they each have their own place in the ecosystem but the goals they are aiming to achieve are not for content creators.

I then offer a deal with any developer who is capable of making this desktop app work on the Windows, Mac and Linux (a must have for this deal) and works on at least Hive and Avalon. I will gladly give this developer 25% of all of my earnings of Hive for LIFE!

Just Expressing My Opinions About Podcast Directories

The issue is with Podcast Index teaming up with SatoshiStream and extorting fees from podcasters.

My main point is that podcast directories shouldn't be scraping rss feeds. They should be asking permission from the podcaster or getting feeds submitted to them. Then forcing the podcaster to prove that it belongs to them.

In a day or two Aureal is releasing Live rooms and I will be so excited! This podcast will most likely end as you are recieving it now. Because as soon as Aureal's stuff is stable this and all other podcasts I produce will be fully decentralized and not available on traditional ways of podcasting.

ATWR 7-1-21 I Am Done!

This episode was recorded under the influence of around 5 cups of coffee, after having to bury our 3rd ferret Thor. He died of Insulinoma which is a pretty common thing for those little fuzz balls. Plus I was having a bit of anxiety about what the cardiologist was going to say this afternoon. And just basically an all around bad day.

But I kept it all together and even had some good humor going. I had originally written a nice looking script for this but I scrapped a lot of it and just ranted for about 20 minutes

Things to note about this episode

I'm getting very frustrated with people who talk and push Web 3.0 but seem to refuse to use it.
I flipped out on Tibfox in the Dtube discord and have since apologized for my ill wording of what I was trying to convey. This episode was recorded before he had a chance to respond.
I am finally flipping the switch on being nearly 100% embracing Web 3.0. I'm going to practice what I preach and actually use only it. I hope to see and talk with more of you on it.

I am hoping that by Sunday July 4, 2021 (Independence Day here in the USA) that my blog Unkle Bonehead will be fully on IPFS. And once Aureal makes there release of hosting and live rooms, this podcast and any future ones other than Loud & Proud will be ONLY on Web 3.0!

I'm using Ubuntu 20.04 desktop here and it couldnt be easier. I had some issues but that was all my doing.

Just remember to log out and back in after install.

But is it the best thing since sliced bread?

### How to add a Dbuzz button to a blog or website powered by Ghost

I've been building my new final resting place on the web by using [Ghost](https://ghost.org/) as a headless CMS and github to build it and hosted on Netlify. It's similar to Wordpress only was less bulky and much more streamlined. Plus it uses Markdown or whatever you want. It really is much better than that crap Wordpress.

But there are two things I want in place before I take it live.

1. I want an embedable player for my podcasts on [Aureal](https://aureal.one)

2. I want a Dbuzz button on my posts so people can share them easily.

The 2nd one happened first and it was very easy to do.

This was extreemly easy. Just simply copy/paste and boom you're good to go! The hardest thing for me to do was to find and decide on a place to put it. Once I figured out how Ghost themes work it I decided on putting the button in my Authors byline on the post.hbs file. That way even if I have guest posters it will show next to theirs as well.

Plus it will be on every single post I make in the future and I dont have to add it each time.

I got done a little early with the Duzz button tutorial so I played a few tunes while posting a couple of things to my new blog. Just to kill a little time for the HiveChat to start on Twitter.

#49 was hosted, ironicly, by @hivechat, lol! It turned out to be a little different than others. And to be honest I think that whoever runs that account must be a listener to Loud & Proud. Because they did an "Off the Rails" version. Where the audience was asking the questions. Thats a gutsy move there. Touche'!

It was fun and I did get off on a little bit of a tangent a couple of times. Just listen or watch and enjoy!

ATWR 06-09-21 What ya doin Bonehead?

A little update on what I've been doing since I'm out of work and sitting at home.

The audio was screwed up because I had a monitor button ticked when it shouldn't have been. But Eldrich's pig helped me out and it got fixed about half way through the episode.

This episode was recorded LIVE on VimmTV. Which is where I will be streaming live for the time being. I dont stick to a schedule and you will have to watch Hive andTwitter to see when I do. If the docs can give me a more definite answer on when I can get back to work I will set up a regular schedule.

Sandstorm - Self hosted server similar to Yunohost. Very easy to install and use. Was a pretty much dead project a year ago but has had a recent resurgence with a new dev. I really hope this comes back to life cause it's implementation of Wordpress is absolutely amazing!

ATWR 4-27-21 Lots of Hive News

Home Time Something that to people in my profession absolutely love to have. Since we dont get much of it. But since the job change I'm actually getting more of even though it seemw like less. I switched back to Ubuntu Studio since 21.04 was released and I *LOVE IT*! So far it's working like a charm on my Thinkpad T440. I spent 2-3 hours customizing the desktop to make it look a bit more appealing (at least to me).
