Spring 2021 | Episode 7

Last week, Hollywood gathered to celebrate the best in films of the year (in their own opinion). A bit later than usual, the annual Academy Awards happened and they were... weird. Now, Felipe, Divya, Frida, and Xavier are discussing what they thought about the ceremony and their favorite (and least favorite) winners. From discussions about the general format to the terrible conclusion to Steven Soderbergh's Oscar directorial debut, they are covering every aspect of the biggest night in movies.

We know that Valentine's Day has come and gone a couple of weeks ago, but Texas decided to freeze and this podcast had to be delayed. However, this doesn't mean that we can't talk about our favorite romcoms and romance movies in a belated celebration of the holiday of love. This week, Felipe and Divya are joined by Ian, TIffany, and Dallas, and they discuss everything from the classics like The Notebook and Pride and Prejudice to modern films like To All The Boys I Loved Before. Not only movies, but we'll also debate our favorite and least favorite tropes and clichés, while also talking about the more problematic aspects of some pictures.

It's the first episode of 2021! Well, technically not since we posted one last week, but since that was recorded in November, this is the first time Felipe and Divya are back recording new episodes for y'all since last year. To celebrate that, they decided to talk about the movies they've watched in their last meeting. From Soul to Promising Young Woman, and even Citizen Kane, listen in to check out their newest recommendations for y'all!

It's a new year and there are plenty of movies to look forward to! 2021 is finally here and Felipe, Divya, Carmen, and Xavier can't wait to dive into the releases of this year. Whether they are films that got delayed due to the pandemic or releases that will simultaneously premiere on streaming and on theaters, we can't wait to see what this year brings to us movie lovers. From Spider-Man, to In The Heights, to Dune, there are movies for everyone. Now, all we have to do is hope they won't be delayed again.

As the year draws to an end, Felipe, Divya, Santiago, and Isabel get together to discuss the movies of 2020 - the good, the bad, and the delayed by a global pandemic.
