I'm in the studio....a lot. It's in my bedroom, so I literally eat, sleep and drink music. I made this podcast just to take breaks from the studio and have actual human interaction with family, friends and other interesting people. You get to listen in on my conversations.

I’ve always wanted to create an anthem for Pop and his “Get Fresh” brand. Why? ‘Cause Juan “Popeye” Andino III has built something special during the last 20 years. He’ll tell you he’s only a barber, but the dude does so much more. From cuts to clothing, fitness to fashion, Pop is a hustler and over the years he’s even taken the time to promote what I do as a music artist. He’s let me hold clothes for video shoots, put my music up at his shop, promoted shows I’ve done, so making an anthem for his brand just seems like a no-brainer. It’s just a rough draft, but I finally have the foundation for the anthem. GET FRESH!!
Just another day in the barber chair, talking about Dad stuff while getting a cut by owner/operator/master barber, Juan Andino III aka Popeye. Time to “Get Fresh”
So, I headed down to the Music Theory School’s Beat Clinic in Norfolk, Virginia, put together by Nottz Raw, Daryl Sloan and their team. Who was in attendance? Bumpy Knuckles, Diamond D, Mr. Porter, Lord Finesse and more. Take a listen and you’ll find out who, as well as my thoughts.
Coach Jared Terrell started wrestling at age 5 and learned early what hard work, focus and discipline was about. Understanding nothing comes easy he took those values with him to pursue music and talks to me about mistakes he’s made, people he admires and supporting his team at all cost.
So while booking some upcoming shows. I ran into this lovely couple, Iggy and Kelly. They own a venue called Graffiti Dog out in Galloway, NJ, which is minutes from Atlantic City. Iggy and Kelly seemed to be some very laid back cats, so I asked them if I could do a podcast with them. Here it goes.

I’m back at Get Fresh Barbershop in Hopelawn, NJ for my bi-weekly cut. The music is bumping, the coffee is percolating and as usual the conversation is flowing.
Happy Friday!! Are you happy with what your doing? Or do you look forward to the weekend because fielding the week sucks? What are you going to do to change it?
Circling back to the convo with Smitty, everyone deals with depression differently. The thing is to always show love, a high level of understanding, instead of judging or gossiping. Just my two cents
I was reading a blog post by Gary V and he mentioned this app, Anchor. I thought it was the coolest little thing, so I decided to use it while I got my haircut...and BOOM a show was born!
Uncle Ronald is one of my role models. When we were young, the talk was about how he went to College on a basketball scholarship and shooting for the NBA. Over the years though, we saw much more than sports out of Uncle Ronald, from him starting and nurturing is own family to helping folks that have found themselves in the system. I'm sure you will find a jewel or two in this episode.

So I've been podcasting on Anchor about a year now and the show keeps evolving. Find out the inspiration behind the new changes, including the title of the show.
For those of you who of you that stuck with me through this podcasting journey, I thank you. I talk about what’s next to come for the New Year and solicit feedback from the listeners. Please leave a voicemail and I’ll play it on the show.
This year had it's ups and downs, like any other year. No matter what happened though, the hustle never stopped and neither did we. I started this podcast on a whim, after downloading the Anchor app and heading to Get Fresh Barber Shop.
Little did I know, I would have so many great conversations with so many great people. For the year end wrap up though, I wanted to highlight the person I had the most conversations with. My barber, friend and fellow hustler, @TheRealGetFresh.
See you all in 2019! Happy New Year!!

You never know where the conversation is going to go when you are at @get_fresh_barber_shop talking to @therealgetfresh
This episode we talk about Being Rich vs. Being Wealthy
These type of episodes you're going to get often. Why? Even when I'm not getting a haircut, I like to pass by the shop and just kick it with Popeye aka Juan Andino, III. Pop is a very charismatic, high energy, in your face type of character. Love him or hate him, it doesn't matter, because he's going to continue doing him. The hustle is definitely real. Check him out at @therealgetfresh on IG. He also owns the @createabeast and @get_fresh_barber_shop brands.
@deliastudios invites me to his place to ask questions about getting into voiceover, talks about small business ownership and his wedding videography company.
While I’m out on my morning walk, earning my Sweatcoins I run into one of my old voice memos of me telling myself about what to do for an upcoming music release.
Joey Craps is an excellent bassist and member of the “Life Metal” band, Ashes of Your Enemy. In part 2 of the Music Lover’s series, I talk with Joey at Modern Times Tattoo Shop in Spotswood, New Jersey. He’s a hustler for real, as you’ll find. We talked about everything from him landing record deals to Joey juggling multiple jobs and Family. All the while, Music is the motivator!
15 years ago I met Shottie over the Internet. We went from being fans of each other’s music, to creating music videos together and becoming good friends. Now Shottie’s rocking his own business 24/7! Shotwellproductions.net
Put a couple of music lovers in a room and they’ll talk for hours, days, maybe even weeks. My friend Ron D. is an excellent drummer and fellow music lover, so shooting the sh*t with him is always a good time. He knows his music and plays practically every week so younger struggling musicians may be able to pick up a few tips. This is part 1 of 2 for the music lovers series.

After I spoke with Smitty about his son Pierce's battle with depression and addiction, I immediately wanted to speak to Pierce's sister Mandii. She had the courage to speak on her brother & addiction.
This show kicked off with a segment from Get Barbershop, 30 Days ago. Fifteen episodes later, I'm closing the first cycle with Popeye, owner of Get Fresh. He's doing a "few" things. Getfresh.com
From falling out of love with Rap music to a new found love for his passion, Starboy shared his ups and downs with me. Now with a fresh start and a solo project on the way, who knows what's next.
If you want to meet someone full of inspiration and life, you want to speak to Big Shot of the legendary rap group DMP and The Proz. We touched on many topics from taking care of his niece, the craft of songwriting and being inspired by others
"Music is my Kung Fu" was a quote that stood out to me when talking to Top Gee of DMP & The Proz. As you'll discover from our convo that's not the only jewel you'll pick up, if you're listening.
A realist, is a person who accepts a situation as it is and is prepared to deal with it according. When I spoke with Boogie, one of the members of DMP, it became evident that this was his lifestyle.
My friend Smitty, lost his son Pierce to a heroine addiction. What we found out was the underlying depression that slowly spiraled out of control and eventually took my friend/partner-in-rhyme.
If you never heard of singer-songwriter Teresa Cook, it's probably because she's spent most of her time behind the scenes writing and singing for some of your favorite artist. Here's our phone call.
Behind the scenes birth of another show "The Olympia Academy" with Benny aka Big Bone. He was the host of DLHH show that opened the door for me and many others. He's back! Sauli on the check in.
I met Mr. Ortiz through a mutual friend years ago. Over time we've had convos on family, fashion, music, boxing, hustling and making money. He ran a fashion line and now teaches others to be styli...
Popeye, owner of Get Fresh (the brand), kicked off the opening of the podcast. Why? 'Cause that's where I get my haircuts and have some real convos. In this segment we talk briefly on team building.
Headed for a weekend at Benny's and I just felt like giving a little insight as to what I'm doing with this outlet. What I love most about this app, is I can record anytime. Straight raw in the mix!!
