Hey Team! We hope you are all well and looking forward to the slightly more snuggly months ahead!

We are back and this time around we are getting a bit more personal with one of the newer coaches to join the Valesco community; Thea!

It's always nice getting to know our members and coaches a bit more personally and today was no exception. Thea has a very varied fitness background and some great stories to tell so we hope you enjoy getting to know a little more about her over the next 30 minutes. How did Thea's early years look and what influence has China had on her growing up, despite leaving at such a young age? How did she break her arm? Why is she always upside down? What role does fitness play for her now? What even is cheer? Expect to learn all this and more.

Eoin Everard; Mechanics, Consistency, Intensity.

Hey team! Welcome back! 👋

For this episode we are joined by Eoin Everard. Eoin runs a mile in sub 4 minutes and a 5K in sub 14 minutes. That’s probably enough said right? Wrong. He is also the current European Over-35 3000m champion, has represented Ireland on the track, is a chartered physiotherapist and Pilates instructor and has a PhD in Biomechanics.

We were super excited for Eoin to join us and to be able to tap into what he has to share. We will almost certainly be talking to him again as we feel like we barely scratched the surface so if you like this, keep your eyes and ears peeled.

Expect to learn how to adjust your training to optimise for more purposeful running workouts, how to avoid common injuries; running related and otherwise, the difference between mobilising and activating the muscles you are going to use in training, the importance of consistence mechanics and much more! This free-flowing conversation peaked our interest in so many ways and we hope it will offer the same to you too.

Hey team!  We are back for part 2 of training hacks and looking forward to sharing with you once again. The last episode got lots of positive reviews so we hope we can add to that today! As we did last time, Ellie and I discuss a selection of training hacks that we know of and, in most cases, use in the hope you hear something you've not before. Expect to learn how to stop some of those classic bad smells, how to stay beyond-hydrated, how to count your rounds and reps in a workout and more.

This time, Ellie and I discuss a selection of training hacks that we know of and, in most cases, use ourselves. Expect to learn how to avoid losing jewellery, how to avoid missed sign-in charges, what to do if you just can't get on with protein shakes, how to stop procrastinating while training time and much more.

There are so many things that can help move the state of Mental Health and it's place in society forward and up there with the best of them? Talking about it! So that's what we are here to do. Is it getting better? What has been the catalyst for change? Why is it ok not to be ok and why do men seem to struggle more than women? We discuss and share our thoughts across the board. Disclaimer on this one - none of us have any qualifications whatsoever to offer actual advice and we would always recommend seeking the help of a professional if you think you need it so everything we share are our own thoughts and feelings.

Viki’s 3 top tips for managing your cycle!
1.  Track your cycle - aka keep a journal!
2.  Good quality protein during high hormone phase particularly BCAA's - I really like Vivo and Raw Sport powder but a good protein powder or chocolate milk with a handful of almonds would also do the trick - worth taking before and 30 minutes after exercise
