Day 10 / #100daysofchant

The Legion of Mary enjoins its members to pray the rosary and the Catena each day. Some parts really lend themselves to chanting. I've taken the Antiphon from a Communion Antiphon from the Mass of Our Lady Mediatrix of All Graces.

The official Latin - I need to get into line with this, plus learn the Latin "Oremus" part.

Antiphon. Quae est ista * quae progréditur quasi auróra consúrgens, pulchra ut luna, elécta ut sol, terríbilis ut castrórum ácies ordináta?

Magníficat * ánima mea Dóminum:
Et exsultávit spíritus meus * in Deo salutári meo.
Quia respéxit humilitátem ancíllae suae; * ecce enim ex hoc beátam me dicent omnes generátiones.
Quia fecit mihi magna qui potens est * et sanctum nomen eius.
Et misericórdia eius a progénie in progénies * timéntibus eum.
Fecit poténtiam in bráchio suo: * dispérsit supérbos mente cordis sui.
Depósuit poténtes de sede, * et exaltávit húmiles.
Esuriéntes implévit bonis: * et dívites dimísit inánes.
Suscépit Israël púerum suum, * recordátus misericórdiae suae.
Sicut locútus est ad patres nostros, * Abraham, et sémini eius in sǽcula.
Glória Patri et Fílio, * et Spírituí Sancto.

R. Pro nobis ad te recurréntibus ora.

Oremus
Dómine Jesu Christe, noster apud Patrem mediátor, qui beatíssimam Virginem matrem tuam, matrem quoque nostram et apud te mediatórem constitúere dignátus est: concéde propítius; ut quisquis ad te benefícia petitúrus accésserit cuncta se per earn impetrásse lætétur. Qui vivis et regnas cum Deo Patre in unitate Spíritus Sancti, Deus, per ómnia sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.

The translation:

Antiphon. Who is she that comes forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in battle array?

(Make the Sign of the Cross)

v. My soul glorifies the Lord.*

R. My spirit rejoices in God, my Saviour.

v. He looks on His servant in her lowliness;*

henceforth all ages will call me blessed.

R. The Almighty works marvels for me.*

Holy His name!

v. His mercy is from age to age,*

on those who fear Him.

R. He puts forth His arm in strength*

and scatters the proud-hearted.

v. He casts the mighty from their thrones*

and raises the lowly.

R. He fills the starving with good things,*

sends the rich away empty.

v. He protects Israel His servant,*

remembering His mercy,

R. The mercy promised to our fathers,*

to Abraham and his sons for ever.

v. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit..

R. As it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

v. O Mary, conceived without sin.

R. Pray for us who have recourse to you.

Let us pray.

O Lord Jesus Christ, our mediator with the Father, Who has been Pleased to appoint the Most Blessed Virgin, Your mother, to be our mother also, and our mediatrix with You, mercifully grant that whoever comes to You seeking Your favours may rejoice to receive all of them through her. Amen.
