What Happens on the Inside ... Shows on the Outside a conversation with DeAndrea Crockwell

What Happens on the Inside ... Shows on the Outside a conversation with DeAndrea Crockwell

An article titled, The Link Between Skin and Psychology, on the American Psychological Association website highlights a previous research study including a survey of "1,675 patients with  rosacea — a condition that causes facial redness and related symptoms —  90 percent of respondents reported lowered self-esteem and  self-confidence, 54 percent reported anxiety and helplessness, and 43  percent reported depression ... More than half said they avoided face-to-face contact."

It is important to place your health high on the priority list. Take steps to recognize whether what you put into (e.g., foods, drinks) your body is affecting your overall health, including skin health.

Joining us in conversation about putting health first and engaging in skin health awareness is Ms. DeAndrea Crockwell. Ms. Crockwell is a Master of Social Work graduate of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke and currently employed with UNC Health. In 2017, she was crowned Miss UNCP and she stood on the platform of physical and mental health fitness. On this episode of There is Power in Your Story, she joins us to engage in a conversation about eating habits and its effects both physically and mentally.
