I was able to interview four teachers who are teaching their learners using a variety of online methods. We discuss what they find difficult, what is exciting, what technology they are using and what is feels like to teach under these new conditions.

You are going to find some ideas for your own classroom in what these teachers are doing; and some comfort in knowing that everyone is having to navigate new ideas in teaching like you are.

Fact check

In the episode I casually reference the number of people who are ‘in lockdown’ around the world as a result of Covid-19. My apologies this is more correctly stated as ‘required to be at home or requested to be home by governments’ and the figure as of 5 April 2020 is around half of the world’s population.

Teaching in the time of Covid-19

In this uncertain time, it is important that we keep safe not only by washing our hands, but by paying careful attention to the messages that we receive about Covid-19. Teachers can play an important role in developing the skills learners need to effectively evaluate information in the 4IR and during this health crisis in particular.
