Dr. Ana Andrade is back to discuss Project Sentinel and the ongoing housing crisis in Stanislaus County. They go into the interconnecting issues and solutions that come with housing, and what are ways the issues can be approached.

We have special guest Dr. Ana Andrade joining us in this episode! Dr. Andrade is a well-respected advocate in the Stanislaus community. Dr. Andrade touches on her personal and professional life as explains how she got to where she is now. She briefly discusses Project Sentinel and how it is that she became part of the civil rights movement in the housing arena. Jasmine and Karlha sit down with two out of the 3 founders of Debrief, Nancy, and Jose. We spent time getting to know them as individuals and what they did before they got into the work they do today! Happy Women's Herstory Month! Jasmine and Karlha sit down with co-founder Bianca Lopez of the Valley Improvement Project. Bianca speaks on the current environmental issues happening in the central valley and what the organization is currently advocating for! Karlha and Jasmine continue getting to know project coordinators Likhi and Mercedes and the work they do in the community. They get more insight into the experiences of working for the community and how sometimes it can be difficult to have important conversations on health & safety, especially regarding Covid-19 education. They also hit the topic of farmworkers' rights and how as leaders in the community not only do we provide services but also it is important to advocate for these communities!

In this episode, our host Jasmine and Karlha have a conversation about colonization, race, and how they play a part in communities. Jasmine dives a bit deeper into the racial equity training taking place once a month with staff at WMCC and gives insight into how the first day went. The California Mortgage Relief Program is one of the many programs that West Modesto Community Collaborative offers. CMRP provides financial assistance to homeowners who are past due on their mortgages or property taxes. Our navigators Reyna and Elsa are here to help reach homeowners and support them with the eligibility process, application prep, document upload, and support while applicants await confirmation. Tune in to see how you can qualify for the California Mortgage Relief Program as well as learn more about our CMRP navigators.

They both gave us some insight into who they are and how they began working and supporting WMCC and its community.
