We're in the business of misery, lets take it from the top

We're in the business of misery, lets take it from the top

After a good win and dreadful loss, Cardiff City fans have been plunged back into misery once again. A great win at Blackpool was followed by a depressing loss at home to Sunderland. The bright spot is that Cardiff City fans could enjoy Mick McCarthy being sacked as a result of our win at Blackpool.

The boys discuss the relegation picture, our lack of confidence, and your Twitter questions.

The rain in the UK falls mainly on Rotherham just after half time

Well, what a wet and wild weekend in Rotherham. Cardiff City saw three points washed away in a rainstorm of biblical proportions. We talk about the groundsmen, the lack of weather forecasting, and what happens next.

We also talk Cardiff's point against West Brom and look ahead to the international break.

The Cardiff City circus continues ft. Ryan March

The Cardiff City circus continues ft. Ryan March

It's a bit like Groundhog Day as a Cardiff City fan at the moment. Two more narrow losses to discuss after 1-0 defeats to Luton and Hull. Another new Cardiff City manager to appraise. Another Callum Robinson penalty to discuss. Another almost-certain loss to look forward to.

This time, though, Ben Price is on holiday, and Alternative Wales' legend, and friend of the pod, Ryan March joins to discuss all things Bluebirds. So something has changed.

Hudsgone - A VFTN emergency podcast (a day late)

Well another week, another sacking, and Mark Hudson has left his role as Cardiff City manager. Cardiff's 1-1 draw with Wigan was the final straw and the former club captain was relieved of his duties. And so, the circus begins again.

We get angry and mad and criticise everyone at the club again.

Cardiff throwing away Leeds

A slightly delayed episode this week and there's a lot to catch up on in the world of Cardiff City. A Third Round FA Cup draw with Leeds means the Bluebirds pop up to Elland Road for a replay next week. There's a farewell to a Cardiff City legend in Seany Moz and a resolution in the Sala transfer payment. As well as the usual Twitter stuff.

New Year, new low

It's the first VFTN of 2023 and despite us trying to be positive, it doesn't last long. We discuss the past three games (no goals scored) and discuss the general state of the club (it's bad). It's more like a therapy session, again. We hear your tweets, talk about condiments, and discuss burritos.

Just a warning: it's a pretty bleak episode of VFTN this week. We do find some positivity in the Blackpool game but it's all downhill from there. We talk all the usual nonsense going on around the club including fan meetings, embargoes, and Cardiff's inevitable relegation.

Groundhog Day starring View from the Ninian

Groundhog Day starring View from the Ninian

Yep, back again. Another week, another encouraging first half, another loss for Cardiff City. The only difference this week is that we have a world cup to look forward to and a break from Cardiff City.

On this pod, we talk Hudson getting the job, the hopeless nature of being a Cardiff City fan and then the World Cup.

Cardiff City - Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe s***

Cardiff City - Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe s***

It's been a little while so there were THREE Cardiff City games to talk about. There was also the small matter of Vincent Tan's visit to Cardiff City to give Hudson his seal of approval - unless he does badly, of course.

We also talk state of the club, your twitter questions, and the Wales World Cup Squad.

An important victory over Rotherham

An important victory over Rotherham

A more positive episode this week as Cardiff City beat Rotherham 1-0 at the CCS. An important win for Hudson and his Bluebirds with Philogene scoring the crucial goal with a lovely finish.

The boys discuss all the usual nonsense, look ahead to our next two games and get distracted talking about where you can fly to from Cardiff Airport. A classic episode.

Cardiff City lost yet another South Wales Derby sending Bluebirds all over the world into an existential crisis. We obviously have to talk about the game, as enjoyable as it wasn't, but the boys also talk about Cardiff City and where the club goes from here. We also take your Twitter comments, look ahead to Rotherham, and contemplate which animal we'd take from Folly Farm.

Mark Hudson B2B Wins

Mark Hudson takes Cardiff City to Wigan and overcomes ILLEGAL GOALPOSTS to win 3-1. With goals two inches bigger than regulation, the integrity of the league has been called into question. Or something inane. Goals from Robinson, Ojo and Wintle's Worldie (underrated) gave Cardiff City three points on the road and took us three unbeaten under Hudson's tutelage.

It's a Transfer Deadline Day Pod!

View from the Ninian is back on Deadline Day. Cardiff City has played two games, got one point, and now look ahead to a potentially frenetic day of activity with strikers linked. Tom Phillips is away (again) so Alternative Wales hero Ryan March steps in (gingerly) to fill in capably.

Cardiff City Derby Shambles meet Shamblepod

Sorry for the delay but after Cardiff City absolutely sh*t the bed in the derby in Bristol, the boys wanted to put some space between the performance and the pod to calm down. But it has led to a bit of a shamblepod. Hangovers, bad predictions, a descent into madness. We discuss everything from the Severnside Derby, to strikers, to Preston and we introduce a new quiz - name the Cardiff player from this wikipedia nugget.

Oh and we swear a little bit. Sorry!

It's a bumper pod this week as Cardiff City celebrate three points against Birmingham - and commiserate after a 3-0 loss to Portsmouth in the League Cup. Reading is actually quite hard

Reading is actually quite hard

A disappointing trip down the M4 saw Cardiff City throw away a one-goal lead against Reading, and falling to their first Championship defeat of the season. And it all started so well. Callum O'Dowda getting off the mark for the Bluebirds before goals from Shane Long and Tom Ince meant the three points remained in Berkshire.

The boys are back to discuss the striker question, your Twitter questions and look ahead to the cup game against Pompey and league game against Birmingham game on Saturday

Matchday 1: Three points against a bitter Canary - ft. Ryan March.

One game, one win, Steve Morison's silky Bluebirds are off the mark for the season. Cardiff City beat Norwich at the CCS, courtesy of a goal from Romaine Sawyers. With a clutch of debutants and a new way of playing, Cardiff City dispatched Norwich in Cardiff.

With Tom Phillips on holiday, we drafted in Ryan March from Alternative Wales onto the pod. His last appearance was more like a therapy session for Ryan but this one was more positive.

Rubin Colwill, baby. Obviously.

Rubin Colwill, baby. Obviously.

Crash, bang, wallop. What a victory! Cardiff City exercised their London demons by beating QPR at Loftus Road. It was the tale of two youngsters, Davies and Colwill, who turned the game on its head. Cardiff City hadn't won in London in 16 visits in the league (depending on whether you think Watford is in London) but they left Loftus Road with all three points thanks to a Colwill thunderbolt.

The losses against Huddersfield - despite Doyle's swazzy strike - and Fulham, as well as the win against Derby. There's also a lot going on in the world of Cardiff City with Steve Morison signing a new contract, three court cases going on, as well as all the usual chatter. Morison's subs, four points from six, and we answer the age old question about Steve Cooper and Kieffer Moore. From Bullying Barnsley to Lucky Liverpool, the kids are alright

Two games, one win, one brawl, and some contentious decisions. The Cardiff City rollercoaster continues on as we get a huge three points away at Barnsley - with a brawl at the final whistle for good measure - before heading to Anfield for our fourth-round FA Cup tie. The Cardiff City kids proved their worth, slotting in comfortably and running Liverpool close. A couple of refereeing decisions away from taking the lead at Anfield, Mark Harris, Isaak Davies, Rubin Colwill, Eli King and OIi Denham did Cardiff City proud.
