Doing The Right Thing with Professional Athletes
As Realtors and Brokers, we really need to get hold of ourselves when working with professional athletes. In our excitement to work with them, lets not forget that we are giving them advise on homes. If you know this is a lower or mid range player, think about putting them into a rental and not selling them a house. You know they could get cut from the team at any moment. Unless they are paying CASH, stop with the nonsence. Our code of ethics says we must do what is in the best interest of the client. Many of those players are KIDs right out of college who need our guidance. As Spike Lee would say..... DO THE RIGHT THING.
The Business Side of a Hurricane Scare
PANIC TIME in Florida.
Seems like any storm in the gulf is panic time for newer Floridians. No need to panic, no need to "top off your cars gas tank" every five minutes and no need to rush to the store and fight people over bottled water. Seem to get more and more silly every year. Hurricanes are great if you own Home Depot stock, thats for sure.
The Buyers Agent Agreement
Why you as a consumer should NEVER, EVER, under ANY circumstances sign a Buyers Agent Agreement with a real estate agent or brokerage. This is one of the oldest tricks in the book to tie you to an agent until you BUY or DIE! Don't fall for the pressure tactics. The agent ONLY gets paid when they deliver, find you a home, get you to contact, follow up until CLOSING and get paid at the table when you close on the house. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM.
Bait and Switch Tactics of Some Real Estate Agents & Brokers
Each episode I am going to uncover shames and scams that some agents and brokers play on unsuspecting consumers when buying or selling real estate. In episode #1 I uncover the "If I don't sell your home in __ days, I'll buy it" SCAM. Find out how agents use those words in ad to get their foot in your door..... only to find out that your home FAILS to meet their buying criteria! Lucky for you they have a "traditional listing agreement" with them to transition you into!
