Sanctified Vision

Welcome to THE LINK - Bridging Faith and Life with Dr. Vincent Bacote! Every month, Dr. Bacote will introduce listeners to ways they can build connections between faith and life in their ministries and personal lives. This month, Dr. Bacote talks about the Historical Review Task Force at Wheaton College, with a focus on why this can be a very positive thing for the public witness of Christians. You can find the historical review here: https://www.wheaton.edu/historical-review-task-force-final-report/

This month, our doctrinal statement is about sanctification and comes from the National Baptist Convention, with a particular emphasis on these words:

"....that it is a progressive work; that it is begun in regeneration; and that it is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, the Sealer and Comforter, in the continual use of the appointed means especially the word of God, self-examination, self-denial, watchfulness, and prayer."

Another Look at Scandals

Welcome to THE LINK - Bridging Faith and Life with Dr. Vincent Bacote! Every month, Dr. Bacote will introduce listeners to ways they can build connections between faith and life in their ministries and personal lives. This month, Dr. Bacote considers how Christians should respond to the recent Carlee Russell scandal and takes a look through the lens of the statement on Christian Living in the Evangelical Free Church of America's statement of faith. You can find the entire statement here.

Here is the part of the statement featured in this episode:

"God commands us to love Him supremely and others sacrificially, and to live out our faith with care for one another, compassion toward the poor and justice for the oppressed."
