Imagine a man walking around the edge of the U.K. with no money, relying purely on the kindness and generosity of the people he meets to help him on his way. Imagine that man has Borderline Personality Disorder - a severe and enduring mental health problem. Imagine this is Brexit Britain where hate crimes of all types have increased. That man is me, and these are the fabulous people I’ll be meeting to show that love and compassion are alive and well in our lovely country.
In this episode, we talk about, amongst other things, Simeon's life running a wheelchair basketball team, a tiny bit on Brexit (sorry in advance), mentoring, and the increase in disability hate crime in the UK.
Ella and Chris explode some of the myths around what a long term relationship is actually like with, or when your partner has, a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder/ emotionally unstable personality disorder.
In this Episode I speak with Ella about what it’s like to be married to someone with Borderline Personality Disorder - er me - the ups and downs and some of the trials and tribulations - hopefully we manage to fly in the face of much of the #Manipulative #AttentionSeeking rhetoric around BPD. Enjoy.
Hopefully this will be my only solo episode - here I explain what Walk a Mile is all about - and how you can join me on the journey.
